The air inside the cave turned cold and dry. The whale immediately moved to the end of everything. There they saw a single figure moving slowly amidst black mist.
Their steps were slow, so they saw their shape and immediately felt something in their eyes and power. It was a very small trace... of a will. That body wasn’t alive; it was a puppet.
That puppet was five meters tall, there were no horns, and its entire body was covered in blue and red runes. That seemed to be the true form of their bloodline being used to the fullest. But who was commanding it was none other than the will of the immortal cultivation Oni himself.
"Hello." The puppet stopped a few meters from the whale and spoke lightly.
Alm and Bruno stared at it, and their eyes gleamed; this cultivator was so powerful that even a bit of his will maintained his consciousness and could communicate.
"Interesting, so the Onis here are even more foolish than I imagined," said the whale calmly.
That figure smiled slightly and then responded, "Indeed, in my race there are those blue and red ones. It’s not just appearance, like the difference in color among humans. In the bloodline of each of the two types, there are completely opposite runes, and both complement each other. The two sides must unite completely to complete each other, so one must understand the rune of the other and exchange part of their runes. The power of an isolated Oni is not even 10% of what it could be."
"You who left all this for them, why didn’t your will guide them?" The whale spoke emotionlessly.
"Hm... then you would gain their trust more easily," he replied dryly, and Bruno, mastering the whale, narrowed his eyes. He saw that and continued, "We Onis only fell completely because of our pride and arrogance. In the past, our karma was immense; we killed anything that ’disrespected’ us and didn’t accept being inferior to anyone. Blood baths created by us were common."
He looked into the void and sighed lightly, recalling a distant past. "If I handed them everything, our karma would make us caught by the queen and the race would cease to exist. I was sure they wouldn’t find out how to elevate themselves by joining; in my time, that was hidden from other races, and the Onis avoided talking among themselves because they found it shameful. Our nature is like this... we live for ourselves, and the heavens forced us to unite to be strong ironically."
"From what you say, it must be difficult even for them to form couples and have children," Bruno said sarcastically.
"Indeed. A hybrid Oni was almost as rare as a god, and yet it was pursued and killed by the entire race for being considered dishonorable," the figure completed strangely. "Anyway, I knew you would come; the Heaven’s Will itself told me. I did all this to cleanse the race’s karma, and now, after millions of years of suffering, the current generations are easier to teach."
The whale looked at him doubtfully and spoke. "Heaven’s Will told you to leave all this for me? And the other missionaries?"
"Yes, at that time there were other races that Heaven’s Will contacted. He didn’t say exactly where you would be; but everyone must have tried to make their race survive to find you. He didn’t explain in detail, I can’t talk about the other missionaries; but your different human appearance... and your soul split into opposite poles leaves no doubt. It was you he spoke of," the man replied seriously.
Alm and Bruno were confused; this was all new. They were just one of the countless missionaries of Heaven’s Will that ever existed. Luckily or destined, they achieved a small victory against the queen in their universe; and not long ago, they were the last missionary. But now... everything seemed very strange...
"Please, although they call us immortals, we can still die from external things. I died a long time ago in battle. But my race can become something different. If you accept them and teach them to have different values, they will be very useful," he concluded, looking at the whale.

Alm and Bruno snorted; they now needed to know about this mystery in the future. So they turned to that Oni and spoke emotionlessly. "I can only guarantee that I will test them. If they show they are willing to change and live together in harmony with the other races, I have no reason to deny them."
"Thank you," he bowed slightly. "I’ve observed all their suffering and despair. Everything is prepared; if you show them the way up, they will worship you and obey everything you teach them."
The whale nodded indifferently, and the Oni looked satisfied before continuing: "It’s completely impossible for any Oni to reach this place. So, I’ve left the order that when you manage to complete it, everyone will accept you as the Divine King of the Onis."
"I see, but you won’t let me pass, will you?" The whale spoke lightly.
He smiled. "Unfortunately, I come from the evil and proud generation of my race. I won’t deny my pride; I want to test you to accept you as the king of my race. This body is only at the peak of mortal cultivation... your physique is already far superior to mine."
The whale smiled internally. So what? This Oni was someone who had lived many times longer than him and was a legitimate immortal cultivator. The pressure on their heads was immense; they would have to go all out, and yet the chances of victory shouldn’t even be 10%.
Until Alm noticed something peculiar looking at the runes on the puppet’s body. Commanding the whale, he asked, "These bloodline runes of yours, they seem to flow differently. Is that a technique of yours?"
Bruno listened, confused, and looked at the figure carefully. The runes on his body seemed to merge and pulsate... only then did he realize. These runes were united, working together to control a much greater power. This immortal Oni was using them to maintain his will intact and functional.
"Hmm? Yes, after I reached the immortal realms. The power of my soul and Qi became much greater than my body; it was a problem I could only solve much later. So, I developed this method of using the bloodline, harnessing the bestial nature of the bloodline. With this, I can manipulate something of a much higher level, smoothly." He looked at the whale and nodded. "The technique can be used with other bloodlines. But, unfortunately, you are 99% human and don’t have a strong bestial bloodline for it."
Alm spoke slowly, hiding his excitement. "Can the bloodline of a High Grassrunner replicate this?"
