The city’s army ruthlessly advanced through the sea of cultivators from the twelve families. When they were just a few steps away, they all roared and a gleam appeared on their weapons. A sharp and cutting gust swept in all directions, each weapon carrying sharpening seals.
The 120 Elders felt a terrifying power and unleashed all of their cultivation without holding back. Although they were on the ground, unable to fly, they burst with their internal power, leaping into the air to intercept the city’s army fervently.
BOOM!!!
A clash of nearly a million sharpened weapons resounded like thunder from the end of the world. But the Elders were not just cultivators from a realm above; they possessed a divine realm. They had crossed an almost impossible boundary for the fragile laws of an ascending planet.
This difference was like heaven and earth... that’s what the Elders initially thought... until they felt the blood rising in their throats and their bodies cracking.
The High Elders watching from afar and the ordinary cultivators on the ground suddenly felt their hearts stop beating. The grayed-out world was covered by a torrential reddish rain.
"That..." those young cultivators couldn’t believe what they saw before their eyes. There was no shadow of hope, all the elders... exploded into a bloody mist as if they were fragile leaves. But, no one had time to reflect; the blood-drenched blade was already falling just a few meters above them.
"STOP!" Roared a High Elder, using all his power. The response was an avalanche of screams of terror and disbelief; the city’s army seemed to be mowing grass, attacking and cutting without sparing anything.
The twelve High Elders didn’t hesitate and sped forward at full throttle. They crossed the skies without a care. With their divine level of cultivation, they didn’t need spiritual roots to fly completely; with their fragments of divine soul, they could do so at a slower speed.
However, this reduced speed cost them dearly. They were distant only to observe before, it took them three seconds to approach as the massacre unfolded. When they were just a few meters from the battlefield, they felt something wrong with their bodies.
The darkness of the battlefield, with the only light being the seven-colored ring, changed. The whole environment seemed to be shrouded in searing red, and a terrible heat hit them, making their bodies burn.
They looked up and saw everything covered in clouds... no! That was a sea of flames in a frightening dark red! Their minds quickly concluded in shock.
In the midst of the fire, it seemed like countless black dragons roared within it. A demonic and infernal power struck their minds, as if seeing hope was impossible; only irrational fear dominated them.
A wild and hot energy surrounded them in the air, they felt that if they didn’t deal with it, they and everyone would die. In the center of that sea of demonic flames was a thin man in black clothes. His eyes were closed, and around him, two powers were merging and reverberating.
Almin, like Ruri, fused the rune he received from the whale into his body; in his case, it was the rune of divine-level flames. But before that, he already had an infernal rune similar to the whale’s. He received from the whale the rune of Vrix’s true body when he invaded the ceberi clan in the abyss. His attacking power had always been based on his flames mixed with Yin, creating demonic flames.
Although he had always fought out of obligation, Almin enjoyed focusing on alchemy. However, during all the time they spent fighting in the city, his focus shifted. He dedicated himself to mastering his two internal runes and merging them.
After a few years, he achieved this without any problems. However, being an alchemist, it didn’t suit him very well. His power became limited, and because he wasn’t connected to it, he couldn’t come up with ideas to improve. However, in the Dao of the god of alchemy, there were many different pills, some of them for attack.
Almin decided to combine his talent with his power. He created pills using the fusion of his flames, and his power increased drastically. But he always felt like there was a key piece missing, that he was incomplete.
When the second level of the alchemy god’s dao was recently delivered, his mind lit up. With the return of the whale, all the herbs could be cultivated again. He had dense Yang everywhere to test... so, everything seemed to connect again.
Now, Almin waved. Nine pills that looked like red stars came out of his inventory and floated around him. The High Elders immediately felt death looming over their heads, that flame completely overturned their understanding of the world.
The pills in the sky greedily absorbed the energy from the surrounding flames. They seemed to synchronize with the flames and rotate, in a second it grew to several meters. All their power was concentrated within themselves and didn’t leak out... some would call them suns, but it was more accurate to call them nine fire moons.
Streams of black flames grew on each moon, in the next second everything converged to form dark and sinister shades; they were nine moons like gigantic demonic pearls, amidst a sea of flames covering the horizon.
However, each of these moons possessed a terrifying aura that made the elders’ hair stand on end and their bodies paralyzed. The reason for this was that everyone felt a terrible mortal power focused on them. It wasn’t just that... the heavenly laws... seemed to be completely focused on the figure in the sky.
"Is this... a judgment?" One high elder let out a murmur.
The nine black moons rotated slowly. As a result, the void rumbled and exploded as cracks appeared in it. It was as if the very sky was being torn apart and burned.
Almin opened his eyes and every drop of Qi was poured to the limit. His nine pills were like cultivator cores, they were made especially for this purpose and matched perfectly with his powers.
Now they connected to each other using the flames around as a link. Their power couldn’t be measured with the senses... together, they multiplied... nine was the number, and based on their estimate, their power was equivalent to at least eighty-one of them.
"Still something missing..." Almin thought and the answer came instinctively. His eyes shimmered, and an infinite soul power covered everything, causing the moons to stop and stabilize.
It was the extremely powerful soul power that Almin gained from the whale through the array. Ruri was the same, but she seems to have had other fortunate encounters and improved even further. But Almin’s soul was not so inferior, in fact, his soul was far above those high elders with divine cultivation. His only downside was that he didn’t possess divine traits; at least not yet.
"A name... I want to destroy all evil! ...that bitch’s domain and world must be destroyed!"
Almin nodded affirmatively, and the heavenly laws seemed to register his name even before it was spoken. "Nine Moons of World Annihilation!"
The whole event lasted five seconds. In the same second Almin shouted, the entire city army leaped away. Their armors immediately pulsated, storage seals were activated, and the laws of the earth enveloped them in their maximum defense.
The black moons spiraled down, enclosing the 12 high elders in the center of the sky. Each of them radiated a terrifying explosive power, and the elders felt the space closing in around them. The mere thought of trying to escape or break the siege made them feel certain death, but at the same time, the imminent death, being surrounded by them, was equally inevitable. With gritted teeth and their hearts pounding in despair, they channeled all their cultivation in a final attempt to survive.
"A pathetic ascendant can’t kill us! Unite your powers!" One of the elders shouted, and the twelve created a spherical defense around themselves.
BOOOM!
An explosion of demonic flames swept everything in its path. Waves of scorching heat burst forth, accompanied by shattered spatial laws spreading through the air, casting a terrible shadow over the landscape.
Those were just the residual waves. For some reason, the nine black moons didn’t explode; they were still surrounding the elders’ defenses in a power struggle. The elders fought to hold their ground amidst the chaos.

Crack!
Lines of cracks slowly appeared in the spherical defenses, like spiderwebs forming on fragile glass.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
As the cracks multiplied, the elders felt despair creeping in. Their defenses were crumbling before the might of the demonic moons. Agonized screams echoed through the skies as they struggled to maintain their resistance.
But... when all seemed to come to an end, the space around them trembled. Suddenly, a spatial portal appeared. In the same instant, it multiplied and turned into twelve portals. The high elders looked inside and saw the connection to their distant homes.
There, millions of elders could be seen, but it was all blurry, and the space was stabilizing. They were all the elders of their sect who had been alerted by the mortal danger they were facing. It would take two seconds for them to be able to pass through; they just had to hold on.
A high elder almost shed tears. "WE’RE SAVED!"
"Are we really?" A dry voice, sounding like a villainous laugh, echoed.
Suddenly, two other figures appeared in the skies. A whale was next to a beautiful woman, she waved and thousands of spatial runes emerged from the void around the high elders. In the next second, all the power of the moons shifted... then, each moon entered a portal. It was nine moons for nine portals, in the next moment they closed.
RUMBLE!!
Within the three remaining portals, everyone heard an apocalyptic noise emerge. The house of the twelve families was located in a region of the moon where they shared a closed space... they all lived very close in a city. The explosion spread and swept through that place with its flames. All twelve were hit, and the nine moons passed to the other side and connected; then, it was like the end of the world exclusively for them. Only a dense Yin of death and heat could be felt in the portals.
In the sky, Almin closed his eyes and fell; he was then grabbed by a tall, green woman. Langrum sighed nostalgically. The burden returned to the carrier. He used up everything he had, and the explosive power of this technique went far beyond the laws of common fire.
The whale and Ruri looked at Almin and felt the celestial laws still focused on him. That was another Dao of his own that was born today; the fruits of the whale’s labor emerged. Almin combined his talents and stacked the gifts he received. Now, he had created something terrifying, which even Alm and Bruno felt they wouldn’t survive if hit directly. As for those common elders? There wouldn’t even be dust left.
The city and all its residences were engulfed in flames, but Bruno was unfazed by it. All the inhabitants of the twelve families were cultivators, and over a century, they schemed to destroy the city. There were no innocents there; even if a naive person could exist, the saying "Hell is full of good intentions" applied perfectly. Innocence and ignorance are distinct concepts; a fool who allows themselves to be manipulated by their families is even worse than a convicted villain.
In the midst of this chaos, the army roared and advanced again. Corin still held the cultivators in place; two-thirds had died, either by the wave of flames or killed by them. Now, there were only two million left and the ten high elders.
But in the next second, nine new spatial portals appeared in the sky. The whale observed that, waiting for this outcome. At the same time, thousands of figures emerged from the twelve portals. They were all burned and distorted expressions of pain. The demonic flames were as painful as ever.
They were all high elders of the twelve families, the few powerful enough to survive such a sudden, large-scale attack. Right after them, twelve more figures appeared. Their presence changed the entire atmosphere. They were the twelve leaders of the families.
"You’re late to the party."
The whale spoke with a malicious smile, beside him, Ruri also had a sinister and malicious smile. The twelve looked at the duo that appeared interconnected, and felt something strange in their minds.
