"Lirelia, as the leader of the Black Phoenix Clan, I order you to retreat!" Veria shouted thunderously.

The four stood beside the whale, with tense expressions. Lirelia was surprised by her mother’s order. She didn’t know what had happened, but she didn’t believe those words. Before this, the clan leader had clearly fully supported her and the whale.

She stomped her foot on the ground furiously, her stubborn nature exploding. "No! I refuse!"

However, just at that moment, a spear of earth shot up and pierced her chest, sending her flying away with blood gushing from all sides.

Neither she nor anyone else could believe it. That’s because it was the whale who had stabbed her. She fell far away, then forced herself to look at the whale, feeling the pain in her chest and her life quickly flowing out of her body. It was a fatal wound.

Shuki and Muphs ran to Lirelia’s side in shock; meanwhile, Yanson had a vacant expression and walked slowly towards her without turning to the whale. Veria was shocked and enraged by this turn of events.

"You bastard! How dare you repay her kindness like this?! Wait, I’ll tear you into a million pieces!"

She immediately moved to grab Lirelia’s body. Her aura vanished, and even her spiritual fluctuations extinguished. Seeing this, she coughed up blood due to the torrent of emotions.

"Quick, use the soul-sealing art of the bloodline! Try to save her!" Veria shouted to an elder of her race.

This elder was the former leader of the Black Phoenix Clan. Despite his extreme age, he was still recognized as someone of great virtue and prestige. Now, hundreds of thousands of Black Phoenixes used their bloodline power to activate a secret art, attempting to save Lirelia’s life.

On the other hand, the Golden Azura Elder just glanced at Lirelia once before disregarding her efforts. With his spiritual power, he could easily detect that the flame of her soul in her head had vanished. She was already dead, so her efforts were in vain.

"You bastard, I’ll avenge my daughter!" Veria even started crying. She was aware of how bleak her chances were of saving her.

’Lirelia isn’t dead. Her soul has been sealed inside her core with soul power so powerful that I can’t describe it. He didn’t kill her. He’s probably trying to sever any connection we have with him so we won’t be implicated.’ The Elder’s voice echoed in Veria’s mind after she roared. This was a bloodline communication that could only be heard by those of the same race.

Veria was surprised. After that, she quickly checked the core and found that there was indeed a layer of soul power sealing something there. Through that seal, she could vaguely sense its spiritual fluctuations.

’Don’t let others notice anything strange. Keep acting angry,’ The Black Phoenix elder asked Veria.

At that moment, the whale was completely surrounded by a gigantic golden domain. There was no escape route, but the terror coming from this Heaven-Defier made the divine demonic beasts stay on high alert. He did the impossible and destroyed the star formation; every move of his was being closely monitored.

At that instant, a message arrived in Yanson’s mind, who was by Lirelia’s side. ’Take care of her in the future. Have many children and spread my name.’

In the same second, the Rurian Faithlink technique rune in Yanson vibrated. His mind was flooded with information about the uses of the technique. Bruno put everything Yanson needed to know to create and spread his religion. Thus, he will be able to distribute smaller runes of this technique to other faithful and spread his influence throughout the underworld.

[Do you wish to accept the rewards?]

[Yes / No]

They confirmed mentally, a bit tense. In the same instant, they felt their vision tremble slightly. Then they sighed; it was the space... everything froze completely. Everything was still in time.

’It’s good to see this again,’ Bruno said excitedly.

’This is the underworld, not the Queen’s universe. It must be much easier for the Heaven’s Will to create this phenomenon,’ Alm also sighed. ’In addition to that, we freed a missionary. We gave a little more power to the Heaven’s Will.’

Countless runes sprouted around the whale; soon, a sea of them surrounded their body. It was all like before; they were being taken to another universe. Then, their visions darkened, and their consciousness faded away.

***

Alm and Bruno wake up to a breathtaking landscape. The dark sky stretched as far as the eye could see while lights shone through the clouds as if they were having a celestial party. The sun, about to rise on the horizon, painted the sky with shades of blue and gold as if it were about to put on an exclusive show for them from the top of a mountain.

’Wow, are we not in the middle of a war or did we end up being thrown into a junkyard?’ Bruno spoke calmly as he gazed at the beautiful horizon.

Alm snorted, trying to shift for a better view around, but soon realized his body was as immobile as a rock. ’What the hell have we turned into? Look for something,’ he said dryly.

The two then tried to use their divine souls to investigate, only to find that all their power had been mysteriously sealed. They quickly searched for Qi signs but found only emptiness. They carefully felt around for a core... or anything... but there was nothing.

’I can’t feel hands or feet... not even robotic parts...’ Alm reflected coldly. ’No eyelids or eyes... and how are we seeing without using our souls?’

’Were we tied up? No... it didn’t seem to be that simple,’ Bruno pondered.

Seeking answers, they looked around for clues and saw that they were on top of a lush, green mountain. Suddenly, Bruno spotted something on the ground at a distance: a small puddle of stagnant water, a result of recent rain.

Observing it, Bruno was paralyzed with disbelief...

Alm noticed Bruno’s reaction and followed his gaze, seeing the tiny reflection of their "bodies" in the puddle.

’...what the hell!? This... we’re a rusty kitchen knife!!’
