Alm and Bruno focused completely, and the Yin and Yang tattoos illuminated in response. They concentrated on recalling that sensation they had before, then poured the power of their souls to the possible limit. The Yin and Yang intertwined slowly, and a few seconds passed... but it didn’t change; it seemed unable to connect again.

’Hmm... something’s missing...’ Alm muttered mentally.

Bruno chuckled mentally; Alm knew very well what was missing. So, he turned the whale’s gaze to his side; quickly, the girl felt the look and turned with a smile, and their gazes met for a few seconds. Then, both remembered the motivation they had in that moment of despair.

As if responding to them, the Yin and Yang flickered and merged in the same second. Alm and Bruno just sighed with strange expressions.

’This must be because our two souls need to synchronize... she’s the only one capable of making us forget everything and focus as one.’ Bruno said calmly.

Alm just ignored those words and said, satisfied, ’Great, the level is lower, but we don’t need to fully merge every time.’

It seemed that even if they wanted to, they couldn’t unite in that way again. But fortunately, they could still use it to a lesser extent.

"Let’s go." The whale spoke, and his eyes glowed in an earthy brown shade.

A tunnel opened in the ground, and the whale quickly descended several meters digging, then followed a straight line forward; the whole group accompanied them closely. When they reached the side of the barrier, the whale cast a glance at Ruri, who nodded. Her entire body floated, and an infinite violet power covered the entire group.

So, the barrier was opened, and they passed beneath the earth, without the demons above having the slightest idea of what was crawling beneath their feet.

Ruri’s power evolved to the point that, when she used all her Qi without worrying, even those with a cultivation above hers wouldn’t sense her presence. Of course, this would only work if she had no intention of killing, as they would detect the fluctuation. Moreover, the fact that the demons didn’t expect them to leave greatly contributed to their stealth.

In a few minutes, Ruri’s entire Qi was practically depleted. Then, she jumped onto the whale’s back, and they transferred all their Qi directly to her. Unfortunately, her cultivation was a barrier; they could only sustain this because there were few people and only for a few hours.

All the smaller clans spread some of their demons on watch in the abyss. So, as soon as their mental power ran out, they would be discovered, and with the cultivation of the demon emperor, they would be captured within minutes. Alm and Bruno couldn’t take that risk, and now considered that he was healthy and wouldn’t give them another chance.

Fortunately, their target was a demon clan that was at a distance they calculated to be reachable, even having to cross to a lower level of the abyss.

It would take five hours to get there, and the whale’s entire Qi would have to be used to replenish Ruri’s. They had no stockpile of Qi to use, but they didn’t care. Now, they had many other weapons to use besides Qi, and they handed everything over to her.

The hours passed, and the whale dug swiftly while reviewing all the memories of the deceased patriarch. Their destination was the Nether Hound clan, and they were extremely pleased to discover that there were pure Cerberuses in it.

Cerberuses were not demons, nor simple beasts. However, they could live like demons and easily adapt to the mortal cycles within the abyss. Everything indicated that the origins of demons were also related to the underworld; but they had clear differences from Cerberuses. Something like humans being compared to ogres.

Alm and Bruno chose this clan with the goal of obtaining this bloodline again. However, the main reason was that the patriarch possessed vast and detailed knowledge about everything within the Nether Hound clan.

The other two patriarchs were only useful for their respective clans and didn’t know much internally. Through them, the demon clans maintained a connection with the surface and always had soldiers to sacrifice in the realm of ashes. In return, they received numerous benefits beyond techniques and ease in cultivation. It was a good exchange for both sides.

The founder of the Bloodthirsty Light Sect, on the other hand, was a Cerberus who decided to venture to the surface in the past and founded this evil sect.

Being not a demon, this was possible, even though it was considered a foolish choice by the other Cerberuses. He preferred to cultivate on the surface despite the abyss offering Qi and infinite laws for easy cultivation. On the surface, considered barren by others, there were enemies and bloody battles everywhere.

That was a basic principle for powerful cultivators. The more comfortable and stable life was, the weaker the cultivator would be. Despite the demon clans living in a frenzied dispute, the four main clans were almost perpetually untouchable. Few times in history were they threatened or had positions exchanged, so the lives of demons in these clans were relaxed.

Thus, fate favored him with the symbol of the evil god, among other benefits, within the prison. So, he developed his own technique and sect; soon, the bold Cerberus became one of the most powerful in history. After his return to the abyss, with his power, he ascended to the leadership of the clan and ruled for millennia before stepping down.

Currently, he was just a soul but still respected as a supreme elder within the clan. As a result, the patriarch of the surface’s evil sect enjoyed a high status, unlike other evil cultivators.

Time passed, and the whale stopped digging, turning to everyone nearby; ahead of them was the Nether Hound clan. Almin, Langrum, and Loeus took deep breaths and waved; the whale’s plans had already been discussed and were clear in their minds.

Then, Ruri gathered her mental power, and the whale dug rapidly with all its power and physique forward, directly invading beneath the earth.

In the same second, all members of the clan felt the invasion, even though Ruri maintained mental power. Due to the clan formations, it was impossible not to be caught. The leader and his advisors rushed with red eyes, but before they could even attack, the earth split in the middle of the clan.

BOOM!

A red explosion engulfed the entire clan. A dense, fiery energy erupted from the ground as if a volcano had erupted. Flames soared into the sky and spread, generating a wave of destruction.

All Cerberuses felt the presence of that intense and furious law, their eyes widening in surprise. However, immediately, the leader grinned macabrely upon realizing they were humans.

The leader activated his leadership emblem at the fastest speed possible and triggered all the clan formations. Quickly, all fluctuations occurring there would be confined to the area, preventing other clans from taking advantage or knowing about it.

"SPARE NOTHING! OUR CLAN WILL RECEIVE ALL THE GLORY WITHOUT SHARING WITH ANYONE!" The leader roared to the entire clan, and his body lit up.

In an instant, all clan buildings seemed to crack and explode. Suddenly, a sea of creatures, ranging from three to ten meters, emerged. All had three heads, and their beings radiated a strange power from another world.

Space trembled, and the laws of fire were swept away. The simultaneous activation of cultivation at the sixth level of the Elemental Condensation Realm by thousands of creatures seemed to engulf those at the center of everything.

Everyone leaped thirstily towards the fluctuations. However, at the same moment, they sensed the laws stirring. In the sky, they witnessed the fire extinguish, and the world abruptly changed color, with a whitish wave falling over everyone.

The clan leader, smiling, suddenly changed his expression, painful memories connecting in his mind. ’This... mist? Laws of water?’

Then, in the same second, an intense coldness descended from the firmament, as if the glacial hell itself was manifesting.

The crisp sound of icy crackling accompanied the transformation, filling the air as a colossal ice dome began to form, rising rapidly and imprisoning everyone within its frozen grasp. The environment, once warmed by heat, succumbed to the relentless cold that now enveloped them.

The clan leader became extremely confused upon feeling the entire clan sealed. ’They trapped themselves with us, what kind of idiocy was this?’

All Cerberuses stopped, trying to analyze the situation. The leader sensed the laws from above and realized that when it was activated, he felt limitless pressure from that law. But now it seemed fragile, as if it had been only a desperate final burst.

"Advance!" The leader roared, and everyone activated their Qi in their bodies again without delay.

Whoosh!

The leader saw all that mist formed by the laws of water disperse with just their Qi and confirmed his suspicions. Then, he looked up in the direction of the source of everything and saw... a green woman and beside her, a man holding a grayish sphere. Where was the human in the form of a whale?

In the midst of his thoughts, all Cerberuses leaped into attack again. Then, in mid-air, when they were extremely close, they felt the connection to their spiritual roots being severed.

BOOM!!!!!!!

The skies above the ice dome turned black, and no one needed to see to know. A tribulation was coming.

The leader felt the heavens focus on the green woman with wide eyes, then shouted frantically.

"RUN AWAY!!"

All Cerberuses were stunned and ran away across the land, even if they hadn’t heard that order.

The clan leader saw all the Cerberuses far away and sighed in relief, none were marked. Then, he looked around thoughtfully. They were surrounded by this ice; even though they could easily destroy it, they couldn’t. If they used their Qi, the heavens would immediately mark them in retaliation. If that happened, death would be the only fate.

"We’re trapped in here. We can’t get out, and we can’t attack..." He murmured, then saw the man in the sky quickly distance himself from the green woman and approach another younger man.

Their gazes met from afar, and the three heads of the Cerberus’s eyebrows contracted. ’They clearly just... wait! Where is the whale!?’

Not too far away, descending through the underground tunnels of the clan, the whale and Ruri moved slowly side by side. A nostalgic feeling welled up in the chests of the three present there. It reminded them a lot of the times they invaded the underground of the Divinestone clan.

But in the midst of those memories, Alm and Bruno’s eyes narrowed. Ruri was clearly walking beside him and made a point to stay one step behind. They didn’t want to ask why... not again... better to avoid that humiliation. (Chapter 30)

Then they quickly arrived in a dark room, and two red eyes opened in response to their arrival.

"We finally meet. Since he’s no longer alive to fulfill the agreement, I came personally." The whale spoke, taking steps forward.
