The dust settled slowly, and Alm and Bruno were visibly irritated. However, there was no fear for Almin, as they could clearly feel the laws of the earth emanating from his armor. The problem lay in the fact that they had to sacrifice some of their own laws, and Almin’s armor had to be completely activated. Thus, he lost his main defense, and it couldn’t be restored quickly.

’Son of a... bastard.’ roared Alm mentally.

Bruno snorted, commenting, ’Demonic blood really can corrupt the mind. He attacked without hesitation from behind. I still felt a great conflict in his bloodlines; he didn’t control that properly.’

’Good thing he has Wyvern blood. I’ll kill him and refine every piece of his body into a weapon, and Ruri will be fine with his bloodline.’ Alm added ominously.

Then, Almin emerged with the runic seal of the armor lit up. In a matter of seconds, it dimmed, now taking a long time, perhaps years, to be reactivated. Although Almin looked physically well, there were black lines in his eyes. The flapping of wings echoed, and the Wyvern, realizing the human was unharmed, was stunned for a moment before turning in the sky and fleeing.

’The armor defended against raw power and damage. However, the demonic bloodline invaded Almin’s body like a curse.’ Bruno analyzed mentally, snorting afterward. Then, he activated the power of faith again.

Almin received those laws through the array, and in a few seconds, his entire body was enveloped in blue celestial light, undergoing complete purification. If Bruno didn’t have this ability at his disposal, Almin would have faced serious issues.

Bruno felt the power of faith in his body fading away. He had used a lot of it earlier, and now, again, only a third remained to be used. At this moment, Bruno turned his eyes from the irritated whale and saw the Wyvern struggling to stay in flight.

’He’s too injured and won’t get far. Let’s finish off the other quickly, or he might attack from behind.’

Everything happened in a matter of seconds, and when all the fluctuations settled, not far away, the high elder was rising with his spear. He displayed tense eyes and an open wound in his chest. Unfortunately, Loeus’s cultivation was too low, and he couldn’t kill the elder; the deep cut had been made thanks to the runic seal of the weapon created by the whale. The combination of this cut with the previous injuries left the elder in a condition where, even if he tried to run now, he wouldn’t get far.

The whale snorted and exchanged glances with Langrum. Immediately, astral winds cleared the dust, revealing her dual-frenzied bloodlines. Langrum raised her sword forward, and something resembling a black flame emerged.

On the other side, the whale took out a weapon from his inventory. It was something he made and kept with him, just in case. It was a simple black saber, and a sharp runic seal emerged. The ten dark wings appeared on the back of the whale, and it was at that moment that Langrum attacked with all her strength.

The high elder had a much higher cultivation than them, which would normally be problematic without the use of all their weapons. However, Alm and Bruno didn’t want to waste resources, and it really wasn’t necessary. Upon sighting the round figure, the high elder obviously recognized him, and his arrogance led him to believe that, due to his much higher cultivation, he could fight this group head-on.

The sneaky approach using Ruri’s power allowed them to quickly eliminate all eight elders with ease. Then, with the whole group surrounding the high elder and using the array for precise communication with Ruri and Almin in the background, Alm and Bruno used their physical cultivation along with Langrum, undermining the enemy’s QI and slowly injuring him with little effort. The group’s synergy and the weapons’ attack power were terrifying; everything should have flowed easily. Too bad that Wyvern ended up screwing everything with that last attempt to use Dragon’s Breath.

BOOM!

The high elder used all the QI he could muster, and in a desperate move, he managed to dodge Langrum’s blow, spitting blood. It was at that moment that he felt death approaching, but he didn’t notice the whale closing in.

In that second, the saber in the distant whale’s hands gleamed in black. Alm and Bruno cut forward with the saber, even though they were several meters away from the target. In the space, a black and demonic cut emerged and advanced.

Slash!

The severely wounded high elder, with no QI left to use, was easily split in half. It was still the demonic technique they learned from Langrum, but at the same time, it was something quite different.

With the learning of dozens of demonic techniques during the main quest, they dedicated their time in the desert city to refining the technique, blending it with other demonic concepts. Now, they could concentrate all demonic power in the weapon without leaking what looked like a black flame.

The level of refinement now was such that they didn’t lose any infernal laws when using it, as they were in the abyss, and it was immediately replenished. And their cutting power, enhanced by the runic seal, was extreme.

In the next second, the whale turned to the side and, on the horizon, spotted the Wyvern. A slight surprise arose in them, seeing that the Wyvern was standing still and facing their direction with a strange look.

’It seems to have understood that it can’t escape and gave up. Great, die with some dignity, you bastard,’ cursed Alm.

The whale snorted, and all the QI from its core was activated. They didn’t want to lose anything else and would kill this Wyvern once and for all. Suddenly, all the QI from the meridians shifted to the physical cultivation meridians. Then, the whale’s legs exploded with a powerful leap into the sky towards the creature.

The space vibrated with the power explosion, and the whale flew straight like a round missile. However, the Wyvern strangely didn’t move and just looked at the whale. Alm just snorted, moved that saber, and prepared to split it in half in three seconds.

But it was in that second that Bruno felt something astonished. ’Wait!’

’Wait for what? I want his head, I don’t care about anything else,’ Alm retorted.

Bruno then spoke, feeling something. ’He... seems to have no malice...’

’Fuck that,’ Alm grumbled and prepared to strike; he was two seconds away from the encounter.

Bruno’s mind worked quickly, and as he looked into the Wyvern’s eyes, he noticed something different. ’He... this! He seems to have recognized us! Think about it. He’s a weak mix who was exactly in this place we were looking for someone.’

’Shit, you bastard,’ Alm retorted, but he couldn’t deny the obvious. So, against his will, he withdrew his attacking power from the saber.

Suddenly, the Wyvern’s eyes gleamed, seemingly confirming something. Then, he spat blood, flapped his wings toward the whale, and closed his eyes. In the same second, a strange glow covered his entire body.

Alm, controlling the whale, was taken by surprise. It was coming toward him, but it wasn’t an attack... and the Wyvern seemed to have used his last strength to change his form and passed out. Suddenly, his body around the glow diminished, and Alm instinctively raised his arms, catching him.

On the ground, everyone saw the whale in the sky and the Wyvern leaping towards it, glowing. Suddenly, the glow faded, and everyone stared at it with strange eyes. It was a metamorphosis into something human... but... it turned into something the whale seemed to appreciate. Langrum and Almin thought in sync.

Up above, Alm and Bruno felt a lightweight in their arms, then felt still black scales around that body.

’This... is your thing,’ Alm said dryly and handed the whale’s body to Bruno.

’You!’ Bruno was shocked. It was a girl... and on top of that... she looked young, very young...

’It seems like Heaven’s Will heard your prayers and favored you,’ Alm said coldly.

’Fu... what!’ Bruno was cut off in his response, feeling the whale’s body being invaded. It was... violet power! And it was trying to cloud his senses.

Bruno, on pure reflex, used the QI Alm saved by not attacking, and in the air, he exploded, falling to the side.

Whoooosh!

A cut from a runic seal, coming from a katana, crossed the air, narrowly missing them. And the long loli-shaped Wyvern hair in his arms was cut.

’Fuck, was that aimed at her?’ Bruno exclaimed as they fell to the ground. In the whale’s eyes, only reflected the image of Ruri with her distorted face and her katana pointed forward.

’Good luck keeping that one alive,’ Alm spoke without much emotion.
