Everything happened in the blink of an eye, with them very close to each other. Alm and Bruno furrowed their brows and then saw the Demoness desperately trying to withdraw her power by reverting the Qi back into the meridians. They then diverted their fists, and both moves found only emptiness.

CRASH!

The earth and air were brutally exploded by the two powerful strikes. The whale rolled several meters on the ground, completely red. On the other side, the Demoness bent over, spitting out a lot of black blood. Forcibly reversing her power was dangerous and caused severe internal damage to her meridians.

A mist of dirt rose, blending with the scarlet of infernal laws. After a minute, the whale stood up, exhilarated, taking a few steps forward. Ruri was the first to approach, with worried eyes. However, she noticed the whale’s fists clenched as if hiding something, and his serious gaze forward made her turn, tense.

Almin went to the whale’s side along with Loeus, both with a serious look. Langrum wasn’t with them, though. She ran to the side of the former opponent. Alm and Bruno waited in silence as the two approached slowly.

Then, everyone saw the two in amazement. Langrum was as tall as the whale, but next to her was a figure almost half a meter taller, with extremely well-toned muscles. Her skin was dark and almost entirely exposed, covering as little as possible with black skin.

Langrum then stepped forward, speaking calmly, "Goku, this is my master, the one I mentioned."

The whale continued to stare intensely, ready to attack at any moment, making everyone beside him tense. Two minutes passed, and then the Demoness broke the ice.

"You received Langrum’s technique? Then you can also consider me your master..." She began to speak, looking into the whale’s eyes, but was abruptly interrupted as she felt a gleam in his eyes.

"YOU!" She spat, bending over and coughing up blood; her soul and meridians began to tremble, feeling her body and soul being fiercely invaded. But her reaction was too late.

Langrum was immediately shocked, looking at the two. "Goku, she’s not an enemy!"

"We’ll find that out." Goku finally relaxed and took steps forward, speaking slowly. "I don’t know you, and I have no reason to trust you. Enchanting and manipulating a poor abandoned child is quite simple, and even I’ve done something similar before."

The Demoness’s internal injuries were much more extensive than those of their bodies. After all, they had a physical cultivation. When Langrum approached her, the Demoness seemed to relax and stagnated her Qi. This was done to minimize the damage and recover the injured meridians. At the same time, the Demoness relaxed, thinking there was no danger in being defenseless. She was a half-demon, and her body was intense Yin; under these conditions, it was easy for Alm, with the power of his soul, to stealthily invade her body with the help of the tattoo and control her soul.

"Langrum, step back." The whale spoke calmly. "If she really isn’t an enemy, nothing will happen."

Langrum’s face twisted; she felt this was a great opportunity for her master, but their encounter was disastrous. If something happened, it would be a tragedy.

"Langrum, step back." The Demoness spoke seriously, feeling an extreme shock from the soul power and the threatening presence of this young man. "So you’re the level Evil God talent that emerged... I see."

"Where is the other demon?" The whale asked curtly.

She then spoke lightly. "He used the teleportation technique and returned to the clan in the abyss. This place is connected with..."

The whale cut in impatiently. "What were you doing here? And why did you decide to attack me?"

"My clan took on the mission to investigate all levels. With the large number of people entering the prison, we came to take a look. The reason for the investigation, you should know. After all, we found recent evidence that evil cultivators circulated among the lower levels, and there were no corpses." She spoke, looking into his eyes. Clearly, this abnormal guy wanted to go to other levels before; she guessed the evidence must be related to him.

"Do you think disciples like us could have done something? Kind of ridiculous, isn’t it?" He spoke calmly, sensing her reaction.

"A disciple capable of killing twenty elders, severely injuring one of mine, and even controlling my soul, which is one of my strengths? It’s a bit suspicious but really kind of impossible." She spoke lightly. "The order was just to find any clue about what happened. No one cares much about it. I’ll simply go back and report what we know; this place has existed for millennia and has never changed. Isn’t it abnormal to find it suddenly changing?"

"You decided to pursue me with just a shallow suspicion; that other guy from your clan clearly wanted to capture me." He retorted sharply.

"He’s a bit emotional... but wouldn’t hurt you if you cooperated and answered him. I guarantee I wouldn’t let him do anything. After all, we couldn’t even let you see us because we’re demons."

"Let an idiot search us and do whatever he wants? He better pray not to encounter me again." The whale laughed at that ridiculous statement. "You really don’t know the purpose of this place?" He said, sensing her response.

"Talking about the fifth level? The guardians were troublesome, but the curse throughout that place could kill even the worst demon over time; no one could gain anything from there. As for pursuing you... it was my fault." She spoke, sighing.

"We have a complicated relationship with evil cultivators. Everyone investigating is from our clan. When those old folks died, I thought the blame for it would be placed on the clan, so I decided to act to have proof of the culprit. I was coincidentally present. No one would believe a young person did it after all."

"One of the elders tried to activate a black rune to contact a demon. You have a bad relationship, but why would any elder have that?" The whale spoke to Alm, certain of the demonic power within the rune.

"The elders knew demons were investigating nearby and tried to contact us. But that was definitely a rune from another clan, and we wouldn’t answer the call. We’re not a single clan; in the abyss, there are hundreds of different clans. Some have a closer relationship. Others, like us, have a bad one." She explained lightly. "There’s only one demonic imperial clan that commands all. It was that clan that issued this investigation job, and since no clan wanted it, we took it. My luck was bad, and that’s why I was on this weak level to try my luck."

The whale then nodded, and Alm, confirming she spoke the truth, could feel her soul, and at no point did she try to lie or repel their intrusion. The whale sighed, withdrawing the soul power from within her, and they turned to start walking.

"Hey!" Langrum spoke sharply. "I taught you my master’s technique! You swore you’d meet her in return. You can’t just leave like this!"

The whale stopped, snorted, and turned around. The Demoness saw this and waved very pleased, seeming to realize something. She spoke with a smile, "My name is Calirer. Thank you for taking care of my disciple."

The whale nodded, looked at Langrum, and threatened to turn around. "Hey! My master holds no grudges. Don’t you want to know more about the technique?" Langrum spat, but she seemed anxious for some reason. Calirer looked at that, interpreting it differently.

"The promise to meet her has already been fulfilled. The only race prouder than a demon is that of dragons. If a demon clan accepts various half-breeds, it means they aren’t worth much. This technique must not be even mediocre among them." The whale spoke lightly, but a clear disappointment passed through his eyes, and everyone noticed.

Langrum already knew that her master and her clan apparently weren’t anyone. Faced with this abnormal whale that she witnessed doing the impossible, she felt he could help Calirer and bring about significant changes. But... the first encounter was very bad, and he had to be convinced.

"Not quite. My master’s clan is an ancestral clan. With her technique, her clan was once the right hand of the demon emperor. But..." Langrum stopped, knowing she couldn’t say too much, and turned to her master for help.

Calirer saw Langrum’s expression and almost laughed. "Currently, we’re small fish, and that’s the truth. It’s no secret to any demon the history of our clan. But our technique is really not simple..."

She then sighed and spoke with regret. "The problem is that the entire clan was punished by the emperor millennia ago. We were accused of treason, and all generations of our clan were forced to dilute their bloodline, merging with another in extreme humiliation."

"Nowadays, no member of our clan can train beyond the third level of the technique Langrum taught you, our technique. Only the current clan leader, who was considered the greatest genius in many centuries, can use the fourth level. But we have records of a glorious past, where even the emperor feared our power to kill with the complete technique." She concluded with a distant look as if she didn’t want to say what she really thought.

The whale spoke thoughtfully. "Hm... if you can’t use it properly, then another race can’t even think of using your real power, right?"

"The technique uses the infernal laws at the first level. In the second, Yin Energy is added, and from the third onwards, the power of the bloodline is the most important." She commented calmly. "Our clan is known as Soul Eaters, and our bloodline, when purer, has more soul power. That is our main deficiency in learning higher levels of this technique. We lack soul power."

She finished speaking, and immediately, everyone saw the whale’s eyes change. Extreme greed sprouted in them.
