Alm then understood the reason he couldn’t have anticipated that; something coming from the sky was impossible to predict since it could have come from anywhere and very quickly.
’We recovered a bit of the laws of the earth! THE ARMOR, QUICK!’ Bruno exclaimed, pulling Almin, who was with Langrum.
SLAP!!
In a swift motion, Alm delivered such a strong slap that it reverberated like thunder on the poor unconscious Almin’s face. The right side of Almin’s face turned completely red and purple, and his eyes opened in a sinister mix of pain and surprise. In the same second, he was thrown upwards.
He opened his eyes wide in the air, frightened, feeling on his skin a power capable of turning him into less than dust in seconds. Then, the runic seal on his armor glowed in desperation.
AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
He screamed ridiculously with all the air he could find in his lungs. Then, a powerful yellow barrier covered him and expanded five meters around, thanks to the laws of the earth that Alm and Bruno transmitted through the array.
CRASH!!!!
The black power coming from the flying beast collided violently against the armor’s power, and Almin, the human shield of the earth, fell from the sky like a meteor onto the ground while the beast’s attack continued to press forward. Cracks like spiderwebs appeared in every inch of the armor, threatening to collapse.
The whale and Langrum were below the shield and were smashed violently against the ground. Suddenly, Almin began to scream more intensely than usual; the shield wasn’t holding, and he was starting to receive that power directly into his body.
’Shit! Think of something fast!’ Bruno shouted mentally.
Alm heard his brother’s cries and quickly thought. As the one with a certain compatibility with the infernal laws, he quickly concluded, ’This power, it’s pure infernal laws in their most brutal form.’
’And what’s the difference? It’s going to kill us anyway!’ Bruno retorted. Then, his mind quickly came up with something. ’The spatial inventory! If it’s raw laws, it must be like that power from the crystals!’
Alm’s mind clicked, and several other things reverberated. ’Wait... and if...’
It all took two seconds. Following that, they quickly asked Langrum, who was stunned, for the sword and handed Ruri, unconscious, to her. Then, they opened a gap in the shield, heading toward the destructive power.
The black power collided with the whale’s gigantic body, and they felt their entire existence being roasted in what seemed like purgatorial flames. Then, in the center of their forehead, a spatial rune lit up and expanded, creating an opening in space.
All the fat seemed to melt from the whale’s body, and the pain of being burned alive hit them. Alm didn’t want to create a larger opening, so the spatial runes naturally expanded slowly while sucking that power into the small hole.
It took a torturous minute, and then everything was drawn into a spatial drain. But Alm didn’t seem satisfied and used all the little energy left in his physical body to take a giant leap.
Langrum and the stunned Almin saw the massive whale block that indefensible power head-on and then leap with the giant black sword pointed upward.
The runic seal of the sword lit up, causing the entire scarlet mist to part with a sharp and cutting aura. Then, with a slash upwards, a sanguinary blade soared into the sky, cutting through the air.
At that moment, everyone saw the majestic figure in the sky. The colossal creature was tens of meters tall, its form entirely composed of infernal runes, emitting a dark and eerie aura. Across its body, there were points resembling black scales that provided a tangible sensation as if it were a physical entity.
It was an imposing infernal beast, and as they observed it, Alm and Bruno were instantly reminded of something they had faced many times - a Wyvern.
The blade approached the infernal Wyvern, and it couldn’t comprehend how its strike was blocked. It just looked at the sword without any fear reaction and moved its claw slightly to meet it.
CLANG!
The sound of metal clashing against metal resonated violently. The whale’s strike was easily blocked, and the claw didn’t move an inch. But that infernal Wyvern looked at the whale below its claws, and their eyes met. Then, a sense of strangeness made all its runes stir.
In that second, the whale grinned sinisterly. And on its forehead, the spatial rune now shone at its full strength.
An opening a few meters wide appeared in front of them, and then an infinite devouring power was unleashed to the maximum. The infernal Wyvern didn’t have time for any reaction; in two seconds, it vanished completely, disappearing into the void.
Boom!
The giant whale fell from the sky, making the earth tremble. Langrum and Almin watched incredulously and looked at the whale that came to a stop with its eyes closed and silent.
The Devouring God Spatial Technique! They finally understood the meaning of the name of this technique. It was indeed a devouring power that could completely swallow any energy and law.
Rings or spatial techniques couldn’t store living things; that was a fact. However, runes and laws weren’t considered living things. These strange infernal beasts seemed like something alive and conscious, like elemental spirits. And that led Alm and Bruno to initially consider them as living things.
But after battling against the queen’s will that created a great density of these laws directly within the inventory, Alm realized, upon closer inspection, that infernal laws were much more than just laws.
Depending on their density, they internally possessed a strong will that could influence the mind and body, similar to what Almin described when he used the wings of his evil god symbol.
This will was strong enough to be confused with a living consciousness. He theorized that these infernal beasts were just an accumulation of many of these runes, with this will becoming more and more intense. They weren’t really "beasts" as the evil cultivators claimed.
They didn’t think on their own, just followed a predetermined instinct, and weren’t truly alive.
So Alm decided to take a risk, and to his surprise, the Devouring God Spatial Technique indeed stored that entire infernal Wyvern. Its power was equivalent to a cultivator in the middle of the Core Formation Realm, and it was impossible to be defeated by them. But inside the inventory, the power from an emperor lit up.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.
Inside there, it was a space completely separate from the external world, so the suppression of the prison didn’t influence it. Therefore, the Emperor’s Domineering Technique was pushed to the limit and merged with the Devouring God Spatial Technique.
The beast trembled and refused to bow, so in a few seconds, an explosion of infernal runes occurred inside the spatial inventory.
Bruno, observing everything, sighed in admiration. ’From the very moment we absorbed these infernal laws into our bodies, we should have thought more about this strange will of theirs affecting our minds.’
Alm concluded, ’We used the parameters and knowledge from our previous universe and mistakenly judged the nature of these ’infernal beasts.’ Now, the essential toolbox we received has once again shown how crucial the combination of these techniques is.’
’Heaven’s Will seems to be directing us towards something,’ Bruno commented thoughtfully, and then the obvious answer came to his mind. ’This infernal prison... can we handle all these beasts in the same way and go to the end?’
Alm immediately thought the same, startled. When had his luck been this good? Since when did he have the plot armor by his side... something seemed off...
’Unfortunately, the will in these powerful beasts refuses to bow even within the space of the spatial technique. Almost all the infernal runes from its body ended up exploding and disappearing. That gives us no chance to absorb the beast’s laws, so the progress on the Evil God Wings in our body is minimal,’ Bruno remarked, analyzing the few remaining runes.
But both of them didn’t care the slightest about this minor setback as they both smiled brilliantly. Alm, of course, looked like a sadistic and malevolent villain.
Then, outside, they opened their eyes and took steps towards Almin and Langrum, both panting. Both could sense a strange aura emanating from the whale.
Then the whale spoke unbelievable words. "Get ready. We’re going to the last level of this prison."
