Chapter 321: Chapter 227: The Si Clan’s Legacy? Explosion and Assassination

As for the scores for market share and channel distribution...

It seemed there might be some room to maneuver.

Lin Qi’s arrangements concerning the Medical Small Business Alliance seemed to be paying off.

He just wasn’t sure if Jin Yuanxi had interfered with the summit’s proceedings, taking into account Lin Qi’s plan for the Medical Small Business Alliance.

After a moment of thought, Lin Qi said to Liu Xuan, "We might be able to do even better. I have a plan, but I’ll need your approval."

Lin Qi and Liu Xuan discussed the plan in detail.

They talked for nearly two hours before their discussion finally came to a close.

At some point, the purple glow in Liu Xuan’s left eye had completely faded, and the Suppressor’s power output had dropped to nearly zero.

Her right eye, however, was sparkling with delight.

Liu Xuan said to Lin Qi, "The plan is incredibly detailed and highly feasible. I’ll arrange for people to implement it immediately. As for things at the Alliance Mansion, I’ll leave that to you."

"However, the academic ability score remains the top priority. The company’s other A-level Researchers are nowhere near your level in this regard, so we’ll need you to focus your efforts there."

Lin Qi nodded. When Liu Xuan had first called him over, she had only been thinking of trying to score more points in this category.

As long as they secured those points and played with the scoring Weights a bit, United Pharmaceutical could guarantee at least fifth place, salvaging their original plan.

But now...

The plan had changed. They were going to aim for first place and seize the Si Clan’s inheritance!

After exchanging a few more words with Liu Xuan, Lin Qi left the Liu’s Heavy Industry Branch and headed for the Alliance Mansion.

The plan required further negotiations with the members of the Medical Small Business Alliance, and the procedural changes needed to be completed as soon as possible.

He walked out of the Liu’s Heavy Industry Branch and boarded the Floating Vehicle with Brother Green Hair.

After they were seated, Brother Green Hair kept shooting strange glances at Lin Qi.

’That took a long time, huh?’

’Looks like the Young Miss and Lin Qi had a... thorough... exchange.’

’Ah, to be young and full of stamina.’

As he watched, Brother Green Hair’s gaze subconsciously drifted south.

’Considering Lin Qi’s level of cybernetic enhancement and his obsession with Prosthetic Bodies, I bet he’s got the latest Divine Might model installed...’

HSSS!

’The Young Miss has such a low level of cybernetic enhancement... How could she possibly handle that?’

As his stare grew more lecherous, Lin Qi, with his Spiritual Vision, naturally sensed Brother Green Hair’s gaze.

’What’s with that look?’

’What is Brother Green Hair thinking about?’

Lin Qi couldn’t read all of Brother Green Hair’s thoughts, but he could tell his gaze was getting a bit sleazy.

It was rather disgusting.

But Brother Green Hair was, after all, the man who had once lent him money!

’What’s the difference between that and being blood brothers?’

Even though he felt Brother Green Hair’s stare getting progressively creepier, Lin Qi didn’t say anything.

He just activated his Spiritual Vision and casually observed his surroundings.

The Floating Vehicle was approaching the site of the afternoon’s explosion, and Lin Qi wanted to get a closer look.

On the ground, the police cordon was still up, but the scene had been mostly cleaned.

The security team had also withdrawn. Lin Qi figured they hadn’t found much.

’Aishwarya was probably the one who arranged this.’

’With the influence of a permanent council member, covering up a few tracks would be a piece of cake. She wouldn’t let Xiaojin find a single loose thread.’

Lin Qi wondered if he should give Aishwarya more explicit instructions to avoid getting dragged into something like this again.

But on second thought, it wasn’t necessary. That would only increase his own risk of exposure.

Just as he was pondering this, his Spiritual Vision suddenly perceived a gaze filled with malice.

It wasn’t far. Judging by the direction, it seemed to be coming from the Alliance Mansion.

And then...

"Shit! A missile?"

It wasn’t in range of his Spiritual Vision yet, but relying on his enhanced 360-degree regular vision, Lin Qi saw that a missile had locked onto their Floating Vehicle.

The missile’s exact class was still unknown, and Lin Qi had no idea if the Floating Vehicle could take the hit.

But Lin Qi knew for a fact there were no security team members within a kilometer radius. No one was going to intercept this missile for him.

"Open the door, Brother Green Hair! Get ready to bail! We’ve got a missile!"

Lin Qi quickly glanced out the window, pointing in the direction the missile was coming from.

With the naked eye, the missile was still too far away to see clearly, but its silhouette was just barely visible.

Lin Qi did this to conceal the true capabilities of his Spiritual Vision, preventing any observant party from noticing anything amiss.

"A missile?"

One second Brother Green Hair’s eyes were filled with lecherous thoughts, the next they were crystal clear.

His basic instincts as a bodyguard took over, and Brother Green Hair reacted instantly.

He yanked the Floating Vehicle’s safety Door and kicked it clean off its hinges.

"Grab on! I’ll protect you."

"Floating Vehicle, initiate active collision intercept! Maximum protection protocol!"

Brother Green Hair knew that a missile capable of evading the Floating Vehicle’s detection systems and only visible to the naked eye had to be at least A-Class, and had likely undergone S-Class-level modifications.

It was practically a half-S-Class weapon.

He couldn’t afford to hesitate for even a second, immediately enacting the highest-level protection protocol.

In an instant, Lin Qi and Brother Green Hair were clear of the Floating Vehicle.

Lin Qi kept the missile locked in his Spiritual Vision.

He wasn’t sure how smart the weapon was. If it was an S-Class missile, it might be able to identify that its target had bailed and reacquire.

But this missile didn’t seem to have that High a Level of intelligence; it continued to hurtle toward the Floating Vehicle.

He breathed a sigh of relief. He wouldn’t have to use his Wizard Ability to defend himself.

Once the missile entered the range of his Spiritual Vision, Lin Qi recognized it for what it was.

It was an A-Class Weapon, but it had been modified to enhance its stealth capabilities.

Brother Green Hair tracked the missile’s trajectory with his Prosthetic Eye.

’Given Lin Qi’s level of cybernetic augmentation, this fall wouldn’t kill him.’

If the missile changed course, Brother Green Hair would immediately shove Lin Qi away and use the power of his own Prosthetic Body to intercept it himself.

An A-Class Prosthetic Body might not be able to stop S-Class Weapons from a distance, but if he was willing to trade his life for it, there was a chance.

Lin Qi and Brother Green Hair tracked the missile’s trajectory together.

The missile, trailing flames, slammed into the Floating Vehicle with a THUD.

And then...

Nothing happened.

’A dud?’

No, it was just an empty shell.

This was a demonstration. A threat!

’Who?’

’The four major pharmaceutical corporations?’

The names of the four major corporations instantly surfaced in Lin Qi’s mind.
