Chapter 308: Chapter 223: The Peculiarity of the Wizard Profession and the Strange State of Spiritual Power

After figuring everything out, Lin Qi walked out of the conference room.

He took the elevator to the sixth floor, went to the production workshop, and found Wang Ziru. "Arrange for two small teams to guard the first-floor conference room," he instructed. "Don’t let anyone in, and don’t touch the box inside."

Lin Qi had no intention of moving the Tier Five Extraordinary Item to the sixth floor. After all, its nature was too similar to Holy Light. It was better to keep it as far away as possible.

Back in the sixth-floor conference room, which had now become Lin Qi’s fixed location for traveling between the Doomsday and Cyber Worlds.

He changed his clothes here before every trip.

With a few hours left until the Door’s cooldown finished, Lin Qi had no intention of wasting them.

From his last attempt, Lin Qi knew that thanks to the buff, he could still gain some benefits even from extended Meditation sessions.

Even if the results were suboptimal, meditating in the Doomsday World was still considerably more effective than in the Cyber World.

He closed his eyes, preparing to enter a state of Meditation.

Lin Qi had now acquired all the Abilities for Tier Two. The next step was to raise his Spiritual Power to the Tier Two Limit and then break through to Tier Three.

Lin Qi guessed that once a Wizard reached Tier Three, something special would happen—perhaps an innate Ability unique to the profession itself, rather than one acquired through analysis.

But Lin Qi was, after all, an untutored Wizard. With no mentor to guide him, he had to figure everything out on his own.

But as soon as he began to meditate, Lin Qi suddenly sensed that something was wrong.

His Spiritual Power wasn’t increasing steadily as it usually did. In fact, it wasn’t increasing at all.

During his Meditation, the Wizard’s tentacle-like Spiritual Power seemed to be... breathing.

The rhythm was almost in sync with Lin Qi’s own breathing. The Spiritual Power unique to a Wizard seemed to be resonating with his physical body on some level, undergoing a peculiar transformation.

’Don’t tell me the power of a Tier Three Wizard is actively mastering the Tentacle Monster transformation?’

Lin Qi’s eyes snapped open as he made his guess.

This state felt somewhat familiar to Lin Qi. It was similar to what his Spiritual Power had felt like when he was exposed to the Holy Light, and when that unlucky fellow from Council Member Aishwarya’s family transformed.

However, unlike the forced change from the Holy Light, this transformation felt like it was being initiated by his Spiritual Power itself.

The Door wasn’t interfering in any way, unlike when it had actively suppressed the mutation in his Spiritual Power caused by the Holy Light.

He closed his eyes again, focusing on the sensation.

’No, it’s not just my Spiritual Power that’s changing,’ he realized. ’My body seems to be making adaptive adjustments as well.’

The two were coordinating, mutually adjusting to reach a certain equilibrium.

Lin Qi had a feeling that once this balance was achieved, he would master a brand new power.

Furthermore, he might even be able to directly analyze a new Extraordinary Item and advance to Tier Three in one fell swoop.

He activated his Spiritual Vision for a deeper observation.

Spiritual Particles were highly involved in the process of change. Although his body and spirit showed no signs of absorbing them, the high concentration of Spiritual Particles seemed to be acting as a catalyst, making the process incredibly fast.

Lin Qi roughly estimated that at the current concentration and activity of Spiritual Particles in the Doomsday World, the entire catalytic process would take about six hours.

In the Cyber World, however, this would take much longer.

The catalytic effect of Spiritual Particle concentration wasn’t linear; it was exponential.

Given the conditions in the Cyber World, completing the transformation might take several months.

While calculating the time, Lin Qi also noticed some other things.

For instance, he now understood why Wizards instinctively hated prosthetic implants.

It probably wasn’t just because the Tentacle Monster transformation would expel those prosthetics, causing severe trauma upon returning to human form.

There was a deeper reason.

The reason lay in the current transformation of his spirit and body.

If the physical body was incomplete, the Spiritual Power’s metamorphosis would also be incomplete.

This would lead to severe abnormalities in a Wizard’s Spiritual Power after advancing to Tier Three.

Lin Qi couldn’t predict the exact consequences of these abnormalities, but they would very likely threaten the Wizard Professional’s life or limit their potential for future growth.

Fortunately, Lin Qi didn’t have this problem. His physical body was perfectly intact, and the overall transformation process was proceeding smoothly.

...

Six hours later, a strange sense of comfort spread from every corner of Lin Qi’s body.

His body and spirit had reached a state of peculiar harmony.

Now, with just a thought, Lin Qi could fuse his Spiritual Power with his physical body, causing it to undergo a qualitative change and granting him extraordinary strength.

This power was even greater than "Spiritual Power Materialization."

Perhaps after the transformation, the strength of each tentacle on the Tentacle Monster’s body would be no weaker than that of a physical enhancement-type Extraordinary Professional of the same tier.

But Lin Qi suppressed the urge to try it out.

He hadn’t forgotten that this was the Doomsday World.

The Wizard Profession had a mysterious connection to the Blood Moon hanging high in the sky.

Who knew if transforming into a one-eyed tentacle monster in the Doomsday World would attract the attention of the Blood Moon Will.

Lin Qi didn’t want to court death. He would wait until he was back in the Cyber World to experiment.

’My Spiritual Power is almost full, but not quite ready to analyze a new Extraordinary Item. I’m still a little short. It’s probably because the metamorphosis was too fast. I need some time to adapt and let my Spiritual Power become completely full.’

If his estimates were correct, it would only take a few more hours to finish.
