Chapter 303: Chapter 220: Breakthrough, The Final New Tier Two Ability
Plugging the hard drive into a computer, the group crowded around the screen.
Suddenly, the laughter died down.
Wait a minute!
What were they seeing?
What the hell was this thing they were supposed to build?
"Holy shit! A rocket!"
"Yu Wen, did you jinx us?"
"Hold on, we’re building a rocket at the Mo University Camp?"
"Does the boss think Earth isn’t safe anymore? Is he getting ready to make a run for it?"
After the silence, a wave of shocked chatter erupted.
They never would have imagined Lin Qi sending them blueprints for a rocket.
The group looked at Yu Wen and asked, "Can we really whip up a rocket? In three days?"
Yu Wen swallowed hard. "Wang Ziru said the boss already hand-crafted the core components. We don’t need to worry about the two most difficult parts—the engine and the electronic controls. We... should be able to do it, right?"
He glanced around at the crowd, a hint of bewilderment on his face.
’Have we really gotten this strong?’
’We can even whip up a rocket.’
Besides, according to the design specs on the blueprints, this wasn’t some piece-of-junk rocket that could just "barely make it to space."
This thing’s performance was even good enough for a round trip to the Moon.
Taking a deep breath, Yu Wen suddenly roared, "Brothers, this is a mission from the boss! We can definitely do this! Are you with me?"
At the Mo University Camp, silence was never the main theme.
Passion was!
"Let’s do it! It’s just a rocket!"
"Who says the boss is making a run for it? I bet he’s going to blow up the Moon! Rockets don’t just carry people—they can carry bombs, too!"
"Is that even a rocket anymore? Isn’t that a missile?"
"Is there a difference? Let’s do it!"
"Where’s my file? I’ll handle the precision work. After I got my Prosthetic Body, my precision is like a master craftsman’s! My hands are terrifyingly steady!"
The entire production workshop suddenly burst into a flurry of activity.
After handing the blueprints to Yu Wen, Wang Ziru arranged for people to go to Lin Qi’s conference room and move out the core components.
Just as he returned to the workshop entrance, he heard a tremendous commotion.
Wang Ziru was a bit confused. ’Is it really that big a deal? It’s just another production task.’
After a moment of confusion, Wang Ziru overheard the content of their chatter. ’Wait! A rocket?’
Still bewildered, Wang Ziru entered the workshop to ask what was going on.
...
Lin Qi didn’t need to supervise the entire production process that followed.
The students from the top-tier university were quick learners, and after so much experience, they had long since become skilled workers.
The Mo University Camp was now able to provide Lin Qi with decent returns, to a certain extent.
Lin Qi had already returned to the conference room and begun his Meditation.
Before Ding Yang arrived, Lin Qi planned to attempt a breakthrough through Meditation.
He could break through the final bottleneck of Tier Two today!
One hour, two hours...
Countless Spiritual Particles swirled around Lin Qi, exhibiting extreme activity and empowering his Sea of Consciousness.
His Spiritual Power grew rapidly.
Finally, just as he was about to reach his Meditation limit for the day, a deep sense of fulfillment emanated from his Sea of Consciousness.
He had finally reached the limit of the Tier Two Fourth Stage.
Now, he only needed to analyze one last Tier Two Extraordinary Item to obtain the full power of Tier Two.
Lin Qi had prepared this final Tier Two Extraordinary Item long ago.
It was a Crystal Stone dropped by a Tier Two aggregate monster whose Ability was "Splitting."
Lin Qi had possessed this Tier Two Crystal Stone for a long time but had never analyzed it.
Before obtaining the "Decomposition Mimicry" Ability, Lin Qi had always believed this Extraordinary Item was unsuitable for him, as it couldn’t create an effective synergy with his existing abilities.
It wasn’t until he acquired "Decomposition Mimicry" that Lin Qi believed the new Ability this Crystal Stone would grant him might react with it in a wondrous way, bringing about an incredibly "Underworld" effect.
If his guess was correct, the new Ability would provide him with a powerful functional strength.
He took the Crystal Stone from his briefcase.
Lin Qi first activated his Spiritual Vision to take a look around.
Ding Yang had already arrived, and with him was Wang Qiang—a man Lin Qi had met once before, who had been rather confrontational.
He was a Tier Three Extraordinary.
Besides them, Lin Qi saw a special box through his Spiritual Vision.
In his Spiritual Vision, the box’s state was highly unusual; it had become a high-Level piece of Extraordinary Material.
Furthermore, the inside of the box contained such an immense concentration of Spiritual Particles that it nearly blinded his Spiritual Vision.
’Such a high-Level Extraordinary Item. Tier Four? Or maybe... Tier Five?’
Lin Qi’s pupils contracted. This was the first time he had ever seen an Extraordinary Item of such a high Level.
Before this, the highest-Level Extraordinary Item Lin Qi had seen was just a Crystal Stone dropped by a Tier Three Monster.
Judging by the concentration of attached Spiritual Particles, a Tier Three Extraordinary Item didn’t even possess one percent of the power of the item in that box.
Lin Qi decided not to leave the conference room to meet Ding Yang immediately.
’First, I’ll break through and enhance my Ability...’
’With Wang Qiang here, I’ll need more strength in case a conflict breaks out during our conversation.’
Analyzing an Extraordinary Item wouldn’t take too long—usually no more than six hours.
Based on his past experiences, it would likely be done in three to four hours.
Lin Qi sat in his chair, his Spiritual Power slowly reaching out to touch the Tier Two Crystal Stone.
Like water caressing a stone cliff worn smooth over a thousand years, it seeped in slowly, bit by bit.
The two entities, in a slow yet gentle manner, gradually moved toward a state of complete integration.
Compared to the gentle advance of his Spiritual Power, the Tier Two Crystal Stone seemed to be the more proactive party.
It couldn’t wait to enter, to merge.
Rather than the Wizard’s Spiritual Power analyzing the Extraordinary Item, it was more like the Extraordinary Item was actively trying to become one with the Wizard.
This was the effect of a Wizard’s Spiritual Power on the verge of a breakthrough; to an Extraordinary Item, it was filled with a natural Charm.
The very instant contact was made, the Extraordinary Item shed all its heavy pretenses, frankly offering up its own essence.
It unreservedly poured the very source of its Extraordinary Power into the tendril of Spiritual Power.
The properties of the Extraordinary Power flowed slowly through Lin Qi’s Spiritual Power, eventually pouring into his Sea of Consciousness to become a part of the Wizard’s instinctual might.
When it was all over, the Tier Two Extraordinary Item had completed its offering.
There was no longer any proof of its existence on the desk.
It had been completely integrated, becoming a part of Lin Qi’s own Wizard power.
When he opened his eyes, less than three hours had passed.
He opened his Spiritual Vision. Ding Yang and Wang Qiang were still waiting.
Wang Ziru was already by their side, explaining, "Junior Lin Qi’s Meditation might be at a critical stage. Perhaps he’s about to break through to a new Level. His Meditation today has indeed been longer than usual."
"But it’s also related to the work Junior Lin Qi assigned today."
"Director Ding might not be aware, but Junior Lin Qi gave the production workshop a major project today. He’s asked us to complete a rocket capable of a round trip to the Moon within three days."
"It’s insane. Thankfully, Junior Lin Qi took into account the abilities of the other students and spent all night hand-crafting the key components himself. Otherwise, with the Mo University Camp’s current industrial capabilities, we really wouldn’t be able to produce it..."
Wang Ziru was testing Ding Yang’s reaction, while also using this as an excuse to soothe their tempers.
He could see that while Ding Yang might still have some patience, Wang Qiang—the arrogant-looking outsider with an accent from Headquarters—was already getting very impatient.
Wang Ziru’s gambit was a clever one.
After he said this, the expressions of both men changed dramatically.
A light seemed to shine in Ding Yang’s eyes.
As for Wang Qiang, his face was filled with shock, and his hands were trembling slightly.
Although this was the mission assigned by Headquarters, he truly hadn’t expected that Lin Qi could actually build it.
...
Lin Qi withdrew his gaze. ’Wang Ziru is certainly capable.’
Before going out to meet them, Lin Qi needed to test his new Ability.
