Chapter 101: Going to the Crimson Fangs Faction
Ren and the others turned toward the source of the sound. The moment he knew who it was, his face broke into a smile.
’Teacher...’
He saw three people riding a massive black bird.
The one standing in the front was Veronica, while behind her were Ravenna and Alice.
The backer of the Eclipse Auction House was the Nexus Organization.
Virelia was their VIP member, and Ren had helped them make a lot of profit, so Angeline called Ravenna and asked her to protect them.
Since traveling by car would take too long, Veronica decided to use her bird mount because every second could decide his life or death.
"Teacher..." Ren’s voice had a hint of surprise.
He had thought everything would end badly for them. He didn’t expect Veronica to appear when they were in a tight situation.
Adrian and his bodyguards instantly turned to Ren in shock.
’Teacher?’
He knew Ren was not an ordinary awakener, but it had never crossed their minds that he was Veronica’s disciple.
’We are dead! We’ve offended someone we should never have offended!’
Their pupils quivered in fear when they saw Veronica’s cold eyes.
Sure, their faction was strong, but compared to the Nexus Organization, they were nothing more than an ant before a giant.
If Veronica wanted to wipe out their faction, they would not last even five minutes. After all, the strongest awakener in the Crimson Fangs faction was only at 4-star.
In front of her who was already at 6-star, a wave of her hand was enough to eliminate them all.
"So it was you who injured my student?" Veronica’s voice sounded normal, but her gaze was chilling.
Adrian’s body trembled in terror before he finally fell to his knees. "Miss Veronica, I...I didn’t know he was your disciple. Please...please forgive me."
His behavior was completely different from before.
His arrogance was replaced by fear, because one wrong move could erase his existence along with his entire organization.
"Th...that’s right, Miss Veronica." Maxwell and Zion added in unison. "If we had known he was your student, we would never have dared to trouble him. Please forgive us. We promise, we won’t make the same mistake again."
Before Veronica could say something, Zephyra appeared out of thin air.
"Veronica, people like them don’t deserve forgiveness." Zephyra had a connection with her, so he could see and hear everything. "Let me burn them with my lightning."
"I agree." Liora emerged from the void and floated beside Veronica. "Bad people must be punished!"
"Since you have injured my student, you will pay the price." Veronica didn’t forgive them, because Ren would have been killed if she had been even a second late.
The moment a huge bolt of lightning struck them, Adrian and his bodyguards cried out in pain. "Aagghh..."
Veronica didn’t kill them.
She only crippled them and knocked them unconscious.
After the massive bird landed on the ground, she jumped down elegantly and approached Ren slowly.
"Drink this." She handed Ren a high-grade health potion.
"Thank you, teacher." He drank it immediately.
Veronica also gave Elara and the others high-grade health potions.
"Teacher, what are you doing in this area?" Ren thought she had only run into them by coincidence.
"We came to save you." Veronica answered honestly. "Angeline called Ravenna earlier, saying you guys were in danger."
"Angeline?" Ren and the others said in surprise.
"Yes." Veronica nodded. "Make sure you thank her the next time you see her."
"We will." They answered in unison.
"Teacher, what are you going to do with them?" David asked curiously.
Veronica turned to Ravenna and said, "Ravenna, take them to their place."
"Understood, leader." Ravenna grabbed them and leaped onto the bird.
"Make sure they never make the same mistake again." Veronica didn’t want them to target Ren once more.
"I will make sure of it, leader." After replying, Ravenna commanded the bird to fly toward the Crimson Fangs faction.
Shortly after that, Ren and the others left.
----
Crimson Fangs Faction, Main Hall.
A grown man was sitting in the head chair. His red eyes blazed like raging fire, and his crimson hair fell loosely like spilled blood.
The name of the mature man was none other than Darius Knox, Adrian’s father and the leader of the Crimson Fangs Faction.
Darius and all of the elders were laughing happily.
Their plans to expand their influence and territory went smoothly, so their hearts throbbed with happiness.
"If this continues, we can become the top organization in the Arden district in less than five years. Haha." The blue-haired elder named Marcus laughed happily.
"That’s right." The green-haired elder said. "After we conquer the Arden district, maybe we can expand further to the other districts."
"That’s a good ambition, Elder Charles!" Marcus stated.
"Yeah!" Darius agreed. "We must not limit ourselves to just the Arden district. The more influence and territory we gain, the more opportunities we will have to grow stronger."
"I’m sure we can rise to become one of the top factions in Valoria in the future." The purple-haired elder believed in their future.
While they were having a good time, a voice echoed in the entire area. Ravenna infused her mana into her voice, so everyone could hear her.
"Darius, come out now!" Ravenna was still standing on the massive bird.
She didn’t command it to land on the ground since she deemed their ground unworthy for her to stand on.
Darius and the others were stunned by the sudden remark.
"Who dares act arrogantly in our place!" Marcus roared angrily.
"It seems like someone is asking for a beating!" Charles was also enraged.
Darius clenched his fists before finally speaking, "Let’s see who is causing trouble in our place!"
He left the main hall, followed by the elders.
The moment they saw Ravenna standing on a massive bird, their expressions shifted from anger to anxiety.
"Lady Ravenna, what brings you to my place? Why do you look displeased? Is there some misunderstanding here?" Even though they were at the same rank, Darius acted like a frightened cat.
Ravenna was stronger than him, and she was also from the Nexus Organization, so he could only lower his attitude and force himself to stay humble.
Ravenna didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, she threw Adrian and his three bodyguards toward them.
Boom!
The sound of their bodies hitting the pavement echoed in their ears.
Darius and the elders were shocked when they saw them, especially Darius. But even so, he didn’t charge at Ravenna and only suppressed his anger.
"Lady Ravenna, can you please explain everything to me?" Despite seeing his son’s pitiful condition, Darius still behaved politely.
"Your son and his bodyguards had attacked my leader’s student!" Ravenna explained with a cold expression.
"What?!" Darius and the elders said in surprise.
"Lady Ravenna, I believe there is some misunderstanding here. There is no way my son will do that." Darius had told his son to never cause trouble for any member of the Nexus Organization, so he believed there was a mistake.
"There is no misunderstanding! My leader is the one who beat them like that!" Ravenna replied. "You should be grateful that my leader didn’t kill your son. If he had injured her student badly, you might not even be able to see his ashes now."
"Lady Ravenna, if my memory serves me right, your leader doesn’t have a disciple. May I ask who that person is?" the yellow-haired elder asked politely.
"You can ask him after he wakes up." Ravenna replied. "Darius, how will you take responsibility for this?"
One by one, the elders turned to Darius.
Darius gritted his teeth as he glanced at his unconscious son.
’Damn it! What should I do now?’
He would have just used violence if she were not from the Pillar Organization.
’This bastard son of mine... he’s never done anything right, only caused trouble again and again. And now he dared to attack the Nexus leader’s disciple? I should’ve beaten him to death years ago!’
He began blaming his son.
"Why didn’t you answer me, Darius?" Ravenna was enraged when Darius remained silent.
It was like he was ignoring her.
"Lady Ravenna, how about I go meet your leader and apologize to her in person?" Darius asked.
"You are not worthy of meeting her!" Ravenna rejected it right away.
"Then, do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this matter?" he still didn’t know how to handle the situation.
"You all! Take off your space rings and give them to me." Ravenna didn’t want to return empty-handed.
"Our space rings?" Darius and the elders were stunned.
"Give them to me now!" Ravenna ordered.
"Lady Ravenna, can we resolve this by other means?" Darius didn’t want to lose his space ring.
All of his wealth was stored inside it.
If he gave it to her, he would be no different from a bum.
"Lady Ravenna, how about we give you some spell books or artifacts as a token of our apology?" Charles also refused to hand over his space ring.
"That’s right." Marcus agreed with Charles’ idea.
"I will give you two choices. Give me your space rings or I will kill you all and destroy your place." She would not take no for an answer.
Their expressions turned grim.
They were furious.
They were annoyed.
But they could only suppress their anger since fighting her was not a wise choice.
"I will count to three." She spoke and paused for a second before she continued, "I...2"
Darius and the elders exchanged glances with each other.
Before she counted to three, they agreed. "Alright. We will give you our space rings."
Ravenna used her magic to take their space rings.
"Remember, there won’t be a second chance. If something like this ever happens again, we will wipe out your organization!" After saying that, Ravenna commanded the bird to leave.
After she disappeared into the distance, Darius yelled angrily. "FUCK!"
