Chapter 958: Chapter 959: A Nightmare

The two spherical spacecraft were batted back and forth by the Spirit Balls, and Vegeta and Nappa, sitting inside, found it to be a terrible experience.

"What’s going on?"

They had awakened from hibernation as they approached Earth’s orbit, and looking at the blue planet so close by, Nappa was still wondering whether he should take a break after casually selling off this planet.

Unexpectedly, not long after entering the atmosphere, they were attacked. Although the attack didn’t seem very strong and the spacecraft showed no signs of damage, being knocked around in the sky like this filled Nappa with anger, and he swore to teach these foolish Earthlings a lesson.

"It seems they are Earth’s warriors..."

Vegeta remembered that after Raditz arrived on Earth, he had also drawn the attention of many people with considerable fighting power. It seemed Earth had detection devices that monitored all alien spacecraft entering its range.

As for why they were attacked first, perhaps it was because the two of them were riding the same type of spacecraft as Raditz, and Raditz might have already exposed information about the Saiyans.

"Hmph, useless trash!"

He didn’t care whether Raditz had died at the hands of the Earthlings, but Raditz’s stupidity had caused him such embarrassment, and this debt would definitely be settled with that good-for-nothing.

They finally landed with a rough crash. Dizzy from all the spinning, Vegeta and Nappa took a while to recover before getting out of the spacecraft.

At this time, Ethan and the others had already landed beside the crater made by the spacecraft, waiting for the people inside to come out.

"Why aren’t they coming out? Could they have been injured by Yamcha’s attack?"

Yamcha spread his hands. He didn’t think he had injured the two Saiyans inside. He hadn’t used much force at all, and the Spirit Balls had been carefully controlled to affect only the spacecrafts’ flight paths, not directly strike them.

"They’re coming out."

Piccolo had been standing at the edge with his arms crossed, eyes closed as if indifferent to these matters. In fact, he had been sensing the condition of the two Saiyans, so as soon as the hatch opened and the two of them walked out, he felt it and spoke up to remind the people beside him.

Or rather, he was reminding Gohan, who hadn’t fully understood the seriousness of the situation and was still looking around curiously.

Vegeta and Nappa slowly floated into the air after coming out of the spacecraft. Neither of them wore scouters. After their scouters had exploded earlier, they hadn’t gone to repair or replace them, but had come straight to Earth. This made it impossible for them to judge the fighting power of the Earth warriors in front of them.

"Hmm?"

As Vegeta and Nappa observed the group, they noticed that Raditz was also on the other side, which caught them by surprise.

"Raditz, you’re still alive?"

Raditz said nothing. The pressure and psychological burden built up over so many years were not easy to shake off. Even though he knew in his heart that his strength had already surpassed Vegeta’s, when he actually saw him in person, he still couldn’t act confidently and instinctively felt that the other party stood above him.

Seeing that Raditz didn’t answer, Vegeta snorted and began examining the others. The lack of a scouter made him very uncomfortable. He couldn’t match the data he had seen before to the people standing in front of him.

After looking around, his gaze finally settled on Goku and Ethan, who were standing at the very front. These two seemed to have the strongest auras and appeared to be the most likely leaders.

"Which one of you is Kakarot?"

Although Goku preferred his Earth name, Son Goku, he did not dislike his birth name, Kakarot, and wouldn’t deny it.

"I am the one you call Kakarot. On this planet, my name is Son Goku."

Vegeta didn’t care what Goku was called here. He was more concerned about the Saiyan’s strength.

"You? You do look strong. I wonder how strong you really are."

Vegeta’s purpose in coming to Earth was to make trouble for Kakarot and show him who the strongest Saiyan was. He did not hide his intentions from the start and went straight to the point, without wasting words.

Under normal circumstances, this would lead to a one-on-one match between Vegeta and Goku. However, Vegeta had come with Nappa, who was reckless and full of pent-up anger.

"Vegeta, why waste so many words on these lowlifes? Just kill them all."

Killing these people and all intelligent life on this planet was what Saiyans did best.

As for the Earth warriors standing before them, in the face of powerful Saiyans, these people were completely insignificant.

It wasn’t as if he hadn’t seen the data sent back by the scouter, but the proud Saiyan warrior refused to believe it was real. The scouter must have malfunctioned.

Now, he would prove it.

Nappa prepared to attack. He raised his hand for a wide-range strike, intending to kill everyone in front of him.

Vegeta did not stop him. He also wanted to see whether these people’s true strength was really that high.

Just as Nappa was about to unleash a powerful attack, a ki blast suddenly shot out from somewhere, hitting him squarely in the lower back and sending him flying before he crashed hard into the ground.

"..."

Vegeta was caught off guard by the sudden turn of events, and Nappa’s bald head was already covered with bulging veins. Clutching his lower back, he shakily got back to his feet, clearly in great pain from the blow.

"What was that?"

He looked up and saw a ki blast hovering in the hand of an Earthling. The long-haired Earthling in orange was shrugging at his companions.

"I specifically saved one Spirit Ball. I didn’t expect it to actually come in handy."

Earlier, Yamcha had used two Spirit Balls to keep correcting the flight paths of the two spacecraft, making sure they landed in a remote, uninhabited wasteland.

After finishing that task, Yamcha dispersed one of them, while the other was hidden underground in the landing area.

His original intention had been to prevent the two from escaping suddenly, but unexpectedly, it also stopped that guy’s powerful attack.

Although this place was desolate, it was still not far enough from the city. An attack of that magnitude could still threaten ordinary Earthlings. Moreover, such an attack would also damage the Earth itself.

Krillin and Tien took the opportunity to praise Yamcha’s work. It was obvious that Yamcha had been training hard during this period, but his strength had always ranked near the bottom, which left him quite frustrated. With the Saiyans’ arrival, he really wanted to show off the progress he had made.

Understanding this, no one tried to compete with Yamcha for an opponent, silently agreeing on one thing: if possible, let Yamcha defeat these two guys.

"Damn Earthling, you’ll pay for what you did earlier!"

This was practically a declaration that he would fight Yamcha to the death. Seeing that no one was trying to stop him, Yamcha also stepped forward and walked out from the line.

"You’ll pay for your past actions!"

Nappa didn’t think about anything else. His mind was focused entirely on killing this hateful man, while Vegeta remained silent off to the side.

Without a scouter, he could not judge these people’s true strength, but from the attack he had just witnessed, he could tell that their fighting power was probably very high.

"Damn it, was the data real?"

Vegeta looked at Kakarot again. If the data had been correct, then this guy’s fighting power exceeded twenty thousand, which meant he was stronger than Vegeta himself. How was that possible?

"I am the Prince of Saiyans. I am the strongest Saiyan. How could a mere low-class warrior be stronger than me?"

Vegeta was already very unhappy, and that feeling only grew exponentially when Yamcha and Nappa actually began fighting.

Nappa could not defeat that Earthling. In fact, the Earthling completely suppressed him. Judging from his performance, that Earthling’s fighting power was not below Vegeta’s own.

"What in the world is going on?"

Leaving Kakarot aside for the moment, how could this seemingly insignificant lowlife possess such powerful fighting power? Why?

Turning his gaze toward Raditz, Vegeta noticed that Raditz showed no surprise at all. It seemed he knew something.

"..."

After gritting his teeth and thinking for a moment, Vegeta made a decision: capture Raditz first, then force the answers out of him.

The moment he decided, he acted. While everyone’s attention was focused on Nappa’s battle, he suddenly burst forward with all his power and lunged at Raditz.

He was convinced that with Raditz’s weak fighting power, he would be unable to resist a sneak attack like this. As long as the people around him were even a moment too slow, he could seize Raditz.

The only question was whether Kakarot would really not care at all about his own older brother’s life or death.

However, something happened that filled him with terror. Raditz actually reached out and grabbed his right arm. Not only had the other man reacted and responded, but the strength in his grip was astonishing. Vegeta tried to break free, only to discover that the other party’s strength was almost greater than his own.

"How is this possible?"

This was simply a nightmare. Even the weak Raditz had become this strong? What exactly was going on with this planet?

"You must be wondering why I became so strong, right, Prince Vegeta?"

After a brief moment of shock, Raditz immediately understood why Vegeta had attacked him. As a Saiyan, he could naturally understand another Saiyan’s thoughts.

"It was only after coming to this planet that I understood why the Saiyans were wiped out by Frieza."

"What?" Vegeta froze for half a second before reacting. "How do you know that?"

Raditz said nothing, but released Vegeta’s hand, letting him retreat and open up some distance. Ethan then spoke at just the right moment.

"I told him!"
