Chapter 954: Chapter 955: The Trembling Earth

Ethan examined himself for a while, then turned his head to look at the onlookers nearby. Just by being scanned by Ethan’s eyes, everyone could feel that his aura had changed drastically, as if he had become a different person.

Yoruichi, however, felt something different from the others. She could sense Ethan’s gaze linger on her for a moment. In that brief instant, she felt an extremely strong sense of danger, and the hair on her body stood on end.

Ethan withdrew his gaze and also sensed some changes within himself.

"It seems this transformation will have a significant impact on me."

In the end, although he possessed the core of a god, his body was still that of a normal person. After drawing out the dragon element from within and undergoing this transformation, it was normal for the dragon factor, without the suppression of other powers, to affect him.

He took a few deep breaths, suppressing the chaotic thoughts swirling through his mind. Fortunately, his will was strong enough that he would not lose his sanity because of it.

"At most, I’ll feel a bit hot-tempered... it’s not a big problem."

Putting aside those minor details, Ethan felt the changes in his combat power. In fact, he did not need to feel it at all, because the people nearby had already obtained more accurate numbers through their detectors.

"Close to ten million combat power... an increase of fifty times."

Raditz had been startled again and again since coming to Earth, and by now he was somewhat numb to it.

But a transformation that could increase combat power by fifty times still shocked him. This was even stronger than the Saiyan Great Ape transformation, and even surpassed the Black Cat Battle Princess transformation he had seen earlier.

"Fifty times?"

Ethan’s hearing had now become much sharper. Although Raditz was muttering quietly to himself, Ethan still heard him clearly.

"Fifty times should be enough."

The Super Saiyan transformation increased power by fifty times, Super Saiyan 2 seemed to be one hundred times, and the third stage was unclear. However, for Ethan, the strength he pursued was still the kind that let him draw out his full potential, meaning he could use his full combat power in his normal state, rather than relying on this kind of transformation for temporary boosts.

For him, this Black Dragon form was for emergencies. If possible, he hoped that after defeating Frieza, he would not need to use this form in combat anymore... although that hope did not seem very realistic.

Defeating Frieza required a combat power of over one hundred million. The combat power of Cell and Buu later on was impossible to calculate. The amount of power he needed to gain was terrifying, and he was not sure whether he could really reach that goal.

"Let’s treat it as the ultimate goal and work toward it... As that bowl of chicken soup said, if your goal is set high enough, even if you don’t reach it in the end, you won’t fall too short."

He deactivated the Black Dragon transformation and looked down at himself again, thinking about the shirt that had been torn apart by his dragon wings. It seemed that in the future, he would need to wear sleeveless training clothes that gave his dragon wings room to spread.

Seeing Ethan return to normal and the oppressive pressure disappear, Krillin and the others almost all let out a sigh of relief at the same time.

"I don’t know why, but Ethan’s transformation always feels incredibly oppressive."

"Yeah, I feel the same way."

"I didn’t expect Ethan to have such a powerful ability. The gap is really getting wider."

Tien, Krillin, and Yamcha suddenly realized that they and Ethan and Goku were simply no longer on the same level. The speed at which those two grew stronger was terrifying. Although they had long regarded them as monsters, seeing them pull farther and farther ahead still made them sigh.

"But in that case, Ethan’s chances of defeating that big villain are also increasing, right?"

His combat power was close to two hundred thousand. Although there was still quite a gap compared to over five hundred thousand, it no longer seemed impossible to catch up.

Coupled with this transformation ability that could instantly increase combat power by fifty times, perhaps it would not be long before Ethan set off into the universe to seek revenge on that great demon, Frieza.

Everyone was discussing it excitedly, while Goku quietly watched Ethan. For a long time, he had always felt that Ethan had not used his true strength, even though he had seen Ethan use his full power in training more than once. Yet that feeling had never gone away.

Only today did he finally get an answer. It turned out Ethan still had this hidden trump card. Perhaps that feeling came from how Ethan always seemed to have power left in reserve during their fights.

And it turned out to be true. Ethan really did have a powerful hidden card. This transformation ability was even stronger than the Kaio-ken. Ethan’s transformation could last for a considerable amount of time, making it more suitable for prolonged battles than the Kaio-ken, which only provided a short burst of increased combat power.

"To be able to meet an opponent like this... I’m really lucky!"

Goku’s muttering stunned everyone for a moment. Yamcha and Krillin, for example, looked at Goku in surprise. Krillin quickly understood what Goku was thinking, while Yamcha, although he understood why Goku said that, could not understand why Goku was so happy about it.

Raditz, standing nearby, sighed inwardly, "Kakarot really is a true Saiyan."

Saiyans were a warrior race. Their blood was filled with the instinct to fight. The life of a Saiyan warrior was basically all about combat. Almost no Saiyan would truly die of old age. Their ultimate destination was always the battlefield.

Saiyans loved and enjoyed fighting, and their pursuit of strong opponents far surpassed that of other races in the universe.

However, even among Saiyans, there were only a few who could still summon the will to fight after seeing a terrifying opponent like Ethan. At any rate, Raditz himself had no thought of competing with Ethan. The gap was so huge that he could not even see the top of it. How could he possibly fight?

"Ethan!"

Just as Raditz was thinking that, Goku had already voiced his request.

"Next time we spar, I hope you can fight me properly in your transformed state."

"Okay!"

Ethan readily agreed. He had originally intended to take the opportunity to remind Goku not to use the Kaio-ken too recklessly, but then he thought that his own major increase in combat power might stimulate Goku into pushing himself further, and through the Saiyan physique, gain a substantial increase in power.

Goku’s increase in strength could in turn stimulate his own increase in strength. Constantly fighting opponents of similar strength was far more effective than simply training hard by himself.

So he swallowed the second half of what he had wanted to say and began thinking about another issue. If he and Goku really fought without restraint, they could easily blow up the house by accident. Their future training definitely could not take place in West City.

After Ethan voiced his concern, everyone, including Bulma, agreed.

The power of those two was too terrifying. Even if they held back, they could still flatten all of West City. Therefore, the safest method was to train in an extremely desolate area.

"How about Mount Paozu?"

"Mount Paozu is so beautiful. Let’s keep it as a vacation spot. If the two of us go there to train, it’ll probably turn into another Fire Mountain before long."

Goku thought about it and realized he also did not want his childhood home to end up like that, so he agreed with Ethan’s suggestion to go to the even more desolate Yunzabit Heights, where there was almost no life at all, for training.

That place was so barren that it was nothing but rocks. Even if the two of them completely changed the terrain of the entire area, no one would care. They just had to be careful not to overdo it and accidentally blow up the whole Earth.

"Be careful. I don’t want Earth to be destroyed not by the Great Demon King or alien invaders, but by our friends instead."

After Ethan and Goku finalized their training plan, they had already packed their bags. However, this trip was not just for the two of them. Raditz and Gohan would also be going with them.

If it had been the Chi-Chi of the original story, she definitely would not have agreed to let Gohan go away with Goku to train. But things were different now. The family’s biggest business was the martial arts dojo, and as the son of the strongest man on Earth, it would not do if Gohan did not know martial arts. So from the time he was old enough to understand a little, Chi-Chi had already started teaching him some basics. This trip counted as the formal start of his father’s instruction.

Holding his son with one arm and listening to Krillin and the others’ repeated warnings, Goku only felt that Krillin was exaggerating. But seeing that everyone else wore similar expressions, he could only awkwardly say, "Don’t worry, that won’t happen."

Yet Ethan said something that made everyone even more uneasy.

"If something really happens to Earth by accident, I’ll find a way to go to Namek and use the Namekian Dragon Balls to restore it."

"..."

Although it sounded like a good backup plan, why did it somehow sound even more worrying?

"Yoruichi, aren’t you going?"

"No. I’ve been researching the Black Cat Battle Princess recently and have neglected the improvement of my own strength a bit. If I go, I won’t be able to keep up with your pace. It’s better to use this time to close the gap."

"Alright then."

Not only Yoruichi, but Krillin, Tien, and the others were also preparing to use this time to narrow the gap as much as possible, even if only a little.

They all knew Ethan’s goal was to deal with Frieza, and they also knew that Frieza was not only powerful himself but also had many, many subordinates.

They could not help against Frieza, but they could still help Ethan by clearing out the lesser enemies.

No one felt that this was something they should not do. They considered Ethan a friend, and helping a friend was the right thing to do. Even Yamcha, who knew his own strength was weak and his talent was not outstanding, had been training hard during this time, doing his best not to be a burden.

After waving goodbye to everyone, Ethan thought for a moment and did not immediately head to Yunzabit Heights. Instead, he and Goku went to find someone else.
