Chapter 899: Chapter 123: Angel
Argon fought fiercely, piercing the chest of the demon before him with a single sword stroke. Although these incredibly strong demons weren’t much more physically powerful than ordinary humans, they shockingly did not cease their actions even after such fatal injuries. With one punch, a demon sent a Knight in full armor flying away.
He felt a wave of dizziness, the world spinning around him, and he saw the six-armed demon slowly approaching. At the opened chest, countless disgusting worm-like granules wriggled and connected, "stitching" the chest back together like a zipper.
"Perhaps only the Wolf Race Warriors of Texas could handle these monsters?"
Death was near, yet Argon felt little fear in his heart.
To transform from a mere dockworker who might have never left Damietta in his lifetime, to a respected Lord Knight, even if only for a few months, he felt such a life was wondrous enough.
This is the true essence of living.
But just then, a figure flitted past his side, wielding a gleaming Silver Sword engraved with runes. The sword traced swiftly through the air, reflecting fiery colors from the runes.
In an instant, the six-arm demon was severed at the waist, the wound no longer harbored wriggling granules, and it struggled a few times before dying completely.
"Who are you?"
Argon instinctively inquired but realized this wasn’t an appropriate moment for questions. That six-armed demon was clearly a minor leader-level enemy, and with its demise, a third of the demon horde originally assaulting the formation came charging this way.
The man glanced back at Argon. His amber eyes, feline-like, emitted a faint glow, while a menacing scar ran from his forehead down one side of his face, nearly crossing the entire face except the eyes.
Argon’s expression filled with shock. There was no need to ask the man’s identity.

He was the Legendary Demon Hunter sung about countless times by minstrels in taverns—Jelotte Van Helsing, the incarnation of the archangel Gabriel, wielding the Lady of the Lake’s Sword, "Yalong Dijite".
Accompanied by the clattering of hooves and the roar of beasts, a cold frost once again enveloped the battlefield.
Black-armored knights shrouded in mist waded into the scattered demon ranks like torrents, driven by their Wild Hunt hounds, while the gazes of the defending soldiers varied between fear and hope.
They wore face-covering helmets shaped like skulls, wielding long-handled weapons resembling moon blades. The sharp blades effortlessly pierced the demons’ heads, but their infectious foul blood couldn’t stain the skeletal remains of the knights at all.
The tide of battle momentarily shifted.
Looking back, holding a brush between her fingers, Lady Prajna stood solitary atop the highest point of the Grand Palace, her white attire as radiant as snow. As her brush descended, lightning blazed the long night as bright as daylight.
...
Losa couldn’t keep count of how many times he’d slain the "Wolf Monsters" before him.
Bloodied giant bats let out sharp screeches beyond human hearing range, the countless demon eyes on their body glowing blood red, causing all present to see illusionary and fleeting images.
Sea Sirens, with barnacle-like raised scales, chanted their enchanting song, distracting minds while clusters of Ice Cones emerged in the sky, shooting toward Losa as he trembled against the Demon Dragon.
Though it was a four versus four situation, Jeanne had to cover Nia, leaving Losa and Cherina as the main attackers. Their impact was substantial, but each time a demon was killed, it would revive completely unharmed.
Moreover, Losa keenly sensed that with each resurrection, the effort needed to kill them again increased—their bodies adapted to the damage inflicted by him and Cherina.
At that moment, Losa wasn’t rushed to break the impasse. With a sweep of his spear, he deflected the diving Demon Dragon and then summoned a Dragon Flame with a gesture, blasting the "Scaly Sea Siren" away.

As if in sync, with the Demon Dragon and Sea Siren flung upward, Jeanne suddenly hurled her Holy Spear. Despite lacking the full chanting power, the golden Holy Flame swiftly consumed the two monsters, reducing them to ash.
The chance had arrived, and Losa hesitated not to activate "Saint Sophia’s Protection."
The immediate effect of the new skill, Sanctuary of Saint Sophia, was phenomenal. As a giant spectral angel figure manifested behind Losa, its wings folded, a cascade of golden radiance was unleashed.
His spiritual power was primarily devoted to this attribute, and now doubled, he firmly crossed the threshold into legend. If he specialized in witchcraft now as a professional Caster, his progress would likely be unimaginably fast.
Tashia’s expression showed a slight surprise.
This power...
Could it be that God truly exists in this world?
The existence of God has been a central topic of research in the Extraordinary World.
On one hand, the Clergy.
But then there are tales of extraordinary powers appearing in various regions.
Though many are false or fabricated, some are undeniably real and possess a distinct characteristic completely different from traditional casting powers.
Tashia’s tone was noticeably intrigued: "Interesting, I genuinely wish to dissect your body, extract your blood vessels and organs to examine thoroughly what astounding secrets lie within your body."
A new system of power?
Ancient, mysterious artifacts from the era of the gods?

Or perhaps...
Regardless of what it may be, it is as valuable to Tashia as Losa himself.
