Chapter 189: Awkward
"Everyone except Alan, please leave the room at once," the guard instructed.
"Good luck, dude!" Bob gave me a thumbs up before walking toward the door. Linus, behind him, simply nodded at me.
These two really can’t stop teasing me... but I’m glad both of them are safe.
Everyone stood up and began to leave the room. All except Maya. She stubbornly refused to move.
"Why do we need to leave? We are all Alan’s friends, aren’t we?"
"What are you talking about, sis? A royal is coming to visit. People like us need to leave," Evelyn said as she pulled Maya to her feet.
"Yeah! Know your place, village girl." Bob’s head suddenly appeared from the doorway as he said that to Maya, his eyes mocking her.
"Village?! You-!" Maya instantly stood up and chased Bob out of the room. I could swear I heard Bob screaming for mercy outside after that.
After a few minutes, the door was knocked again, and a familiar figure entered the room. It was the knight, Githa. Her expression was as usual. Stern and composed. She glanced at me before taking her position by the door.
Then, a beautiful lady stepped into the room.
"Good afternoon, Sir Alan. Did I disturb your rest? Is your body feeling well?" Reika immediately stood beside me and looked at me with concern.
"Y-yeah, I’m alright, Princess. Thank you for your concern." I stuttered. I really have an issue whenever I face a beautiful woman. It makes me feel terrible.
"I came as soon as I heard you had woken up. Thank God you are fine," Reika said with a smile.
"Ahem. You were quite anxious after hearing he had awakened and ran here as fast as you could. And this is already your second visit today," Githa suddenly spoke without even looking at Reika.
"Hmmm?" I turned toward Githa. Reika also looked at her, her face slightly reddening before she quickly composed herself.
’ What is happening? ’ I was confused by the situation.
"Anyway, thanks to Sir Alan, Bob, and Linus, Daisy Town was saved from something far worse. My brothers and I are truly grateful to you. You three deserve medals, but... Brother Reid said-"
"Please restrain your words, Princess. This is an order from the Prince," Githa interrupted.
"Sigh... fine. But still..." Reika suddenly held my hands. "I am truly grateful for your bravery. If there is anything you desire, just say it. I will try my best to grant your wish." Reika looked at me with determination, making it difficult for me to refuse her offer.
"Got it, Princess, no, Your Highness."
"Why are you so stiff, hehe. There’s no one else here. Just call me Reika, understand?" Reika smiled.
"Okay... Reika."
For the next hour, we talked. She was really interested in the life of adventurers and guild life. Unfortunately, I had only been here for a month, so my experience wasn’t that vast. But still, she listened with great interest.
"My apologies, Reika. Can I ask something? During our fight in the hall, what exactly were you chanting back there? Is that some kind of magic?" I asked.
"Oh, that. It’s actually-"
"Princess!" Githa suddenly raised her voice.
"It’s fine. We can’t hide it anymore. Besides, they have already seen and experienced it themselves," Reika said. Githa simply massaged her temple, clearly burdened with managing the princess.
"That is actually a spell from my class, Spoken."
"Spoken?"
"Yes. It is a hereditary class from my lineage. In every generation, one member of my family is born with that class. And in this generation, that person is me. But unfortunately, my magical ability is not that high, so I cannot use its full potential. With just one cast, I will collapse," Reika said with a weak smile.
"I see."
While talking to her, my hand quietly opened the status window and accessed the [Classes] section. Just as I expected, there was no "Spoken" class listed. The Guildmaster Mirinda’s class was also not there.
This was something that had been bothering me for quite some time.
Usually, when Bob or I party with others, we automatically obtain their classes. But in Daisy Town, we only gained some of them, mostly from Selene and members of our guild. We didn’t receive any other classes during the battle.
I had a few theories. One of them is that maybe there is a limit to how many classes we can obtain, and perhaps we have already reached that limit.
The other possibility is that there is a maximum number of party members that can be formed. In Daisy Town, the final battle involved hundreds of people, so maybe there is a cap.
Honestly, I hope my second theory is correct. It would be a huge letdown if there is a limit to how many classes we can get. We have survived many battles thanks to the power of others.
"Alan?"
"Ahh, sorry. What did you say?" I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Geez. A beautiful and cute princess is right in front of you, yet you’re still spacing out." Reika pouted.
"I-I’m sorry, Princess! I didn’t mean it." I bowed to her.
"Hehehe. Just kidding. Alright, it has been a long time since I’ve had a good conversation with someone outside the palace. I’ll let you rest for today. But next time, if it’s not a burden, can we talk again?" Reika looked at me.
"Sure. I’d really love to," I answered quickly.
"That’s a promise! Then, please excuse me. Have a good rest." Reika walked away. Githa glanced at me before following behind her.
Sigh...
I let out a long breath. That princess, she’s really energetic. But she’s also very innocent and kind. I honestly enjoyed my time talking to her.
I then rested my head on the pillow and drifted back to sleep.

Dawnbloom Guild.
"Is she still there?" Beltimore asked Ida, who had just exited the Guildmaster’s room.
"Hmm." She nodded. "She has been staying in there for three days already. I don’t even know how to talk to her anymore." Ida looked exhausted.
"Let me talk to her." Beltimore adjusted his glasses before entering the room.
The room was dim, with only a thin ray of light slipping through the gap between the curtains. On the sofa, a woman lay there, one arm covering her face. Her hair was disheveled. Several bottles were scattered across the floor.
"Mirinda," Beltimore called gently. After the battle in Daisy Town, Mirinda had fainted when she saw the face behind the mask. It resembled Russ, the former Guildmaster of Dawnbloom, and her husband.
Mirinda slowly moved her hand before sitting up and looking at Beltimore.
"It’s you, Beltimore. Have you gotten approval for us to see Azul?" she asked.
"The request was rejected again. But I came to tell you another piece of news. Alan has woken up."
