Chapter 829: Chapter 823: Marital Rift 2
Boom——!
Sean Thorne’s emotionally flat statement hit Whitney Lynch like a thunderbolt.
A ringing filled her ears as she stared in shock at the stranger that was her husband, unable to utter a single word.
Georgia Thorne, who had been silent all along, trembled and dropped her chopsticks on the table, making a crisp sound that added to the dangerous atmosphere.
"Dad?"
As an outsider, May Sloane listened with a sense of satisfaction.
Tiana Thorne was also surprised, looked at her father, slightly moved her lips but said nothing.
She understood her father; he had always been composed and steady. If he hadn’t already made up his mind, he would never have spoken such weighty words.
Whitney Lynch still seemed to think she heard wrong, asked tremblingly: "What... what did you say?"
Sean Thorne met her astonished eyes directly, word by word: "Divorce."
Whitney Lynch was stunned, shaking all over, her cheeks expressionless: "Sean Thorne, you say we’ve been married for over twenty years, why suddenly get a divorce? The reason? Weren’t things fine before?"
There was not the slightest trace of tenderness in Sean Thorne’s eyes, he laughed coldly: "I’ve been struggling outside for years, yet you stabbed me in the back and now ask why divorce?"
Whitney Lynch stared at him in disbelief, tears flooding her eyes, sobbing: "I am your wife, when you were suffering I stayed with you, now that you have a wealthy son-in-law and prospects, you want to abandon me, your loyal wife?"
Listen to this.
In front of two children, what kind of words are these?
Sean Thorne has lived his life upright and dignified, never stooping to anyone, and now, proposing divorce, she doesn’t look for the reason in herself and speaks such distasteful words.
He angrily said: "You are my wife, but you are also the mother of two children."
Upon hearing this, Whitney Lynch finally understood, angrily pointed at Tiana Thorne: "Is it because of her?"
Suddenly being pointed at, Tiana Thorne knew this meal wouldn’t end well.
"Need me to tell Tiana what you’ve done behind her back?"
Instantly, Whitney Lynch felt the presence of two expressions besides her husband’s anger.
One casual and even playful.
One with cold, fierce eyes.
The latter, was Aiden Shaw.
Aiden Shaw slightly narrowed his eyes, his icy gaze settled on her as if ready to destroy her should Sean Thorne speak.
Whitney Lynch shivered in terror, withdrawing her trembling hand that pointed at Tiana Thorne.
Speaking gently, with a hint of pleading: "Husband, don’t be angry with me, I know I was wrong before, but no matter what, today is Tiana’s birthday, Mr. Shaw is here too, do you want to make a joke for the daughters, can we discuss things later?"
Aiden Shaw naturally wanted to know what other unforgivable things this vicious woman had done, softly replied: "Uncle, you can act as if I’m not here."
This comment had the tendency to fan the flames.
Whitney Lynch panicked.
Tiana Thorne couldn’t help but give him a thumbs up under the table.
Sean Thorne’s faint hope in her had been erased by her recent words.
"Whitney Lynch, trusting you would be cruel to Tiana. Divorce, you won’t get anything less than you deserve, otherwise, don’t expect anything at all."
