Chapter 298: Chapter 296: Notify the Production Team
Kong Jian was pondering something. He thought he’d heard Liger say something just now.
Something about a "pretty girl."
But her voice had been too low for Kong Jian to hear clearly.
’Was Liger talking to that pretty lady who’d been frozen in place?’
Too bad the pretty lady was completely unconscious and couldn’t hear what Liger said.
’Liger remembered the immobilization technique, but she’d forgotten him.’
Kong Jian lowered his head and watched an insect that had come from who-knows-where.
It was crawling all around his shoe.
Kong Jian squatted down, reached out, and gently pinched the back of a thick caterpillar. The caterpillar was soft and squishy, yet it felt as if it had a hard spine.
The caterpillar, feeling its life was in his grasp, turned its head toward Kong Jian’s hand and opened its mouth to bite.
But the instant its mutated mouth drew near, it was overcome by a sense of dread.
A primal fear seemed to wash over it from all sides.
The caterpillar gave in to its primal instincts and began to struggle desperately.
Kong Jian actually loosened his grip, and it dropped to the ground. The caterpillar scrambled away without a second glance.
It moved faster than it ever had in its life.
Kong Jian paid it no mind.
He looked up at Liger. Wen Ying was vexed, trying to figure out what to do with the two of them.
’I can just toss Xie Fu Yao out and have someone come get him.’
Wen Ying reached out, lifted Xu Yiran, and hoisted her onto her back.
Just as Wen Ying paused, the white mist before them seemed to shift in an instant, turning from white into vast swathes of black.
The black mist billowed in, blotting out everything.
Xie Fu Yao, who had been tossed aside nearby, had seemingly vanished.
Wen Ying had just reached out a hand when a little hand grabbed her and pulled her close.
"Kong Jian, did you see where that man went?"
Kong Jian shook his head. ’He was a really annoying bad guy.’
’He couldn’t care less if that bad guy lived or died.’
"Never mind," she said. "Let’s just assess the situation."
Kong Jian held her hand. "Liger, I can see, but it’s like... it’s changed."
Wen Ying understood what Kong Jian meant. It was as if space itself had warped.
They hadn’t moved an inch, yet their location seemed to have shifted.
Thankfully, Xu Yiran was still on Wen Ying’s back and hadn’t vanished like Xie Fu Yao.
*
Little White waited at the entrance to the mist.
In the blink of an eye, a large man appeared lying on the ground in front of it.
’A truly detestable man.’
Xie Fu Yao.
Little White scowled.
"Immortal Xiao Bai, what is that thing? Should we go notify the humans?"
The Monkey Boss asked, taking the initiative.
"Immortal Xiao Bai’s master must have sent him out, right? But I didn’t see anyone just now, besides this man on the ground."
Xie Fu Yao’s eyes fluttered shut, then open again.
"Notify them about what? He’s already dead. Just dig a hole and bury him."
Little White was speaking human language.
The squirrel and the Monkey Boss looked at the human, whose chest was still rising and falling.
’This human is in a sorry state!’
’He must have provoked Immortal Xiao Bai. Otherwise, why would Immortal Xiao Bai not only ignore him, but want him buried?’
Wait! The Monkey Boss recognized Xie Fu Yao’s face!
A flicker of recognition sparked in its mind!
’This detestable human!’
’The human who tried to hit us!’
’No wonder nobody cares what happens to him!’
’A despicable human like him deserves to be buried in a ditch!’
"Immortal Xiao Bai is right! This human is dead. I’ll go dig a hole right now!"
The squirrel watched their antics, clearly confused.
The Monkey Boss was quick. He didn’t dig a hole, but instead started dragging over branches, piling them on top of Xie Fu Yao’s body one by one.
’Was he planning to build a wooden tomb for him right then and there?’
Xie Fu Yao’s eyes snapped open. He felt like he was suffocating.
A dense web of branches obscured his vision.
He flailed his arms, but the pain coursing through his body only intensified.
RAAAGH... RAAAGH... RAAAGH...
The sounds were still coming from his throat. His entire body ached.
The monkey was apparently startled by the sudden commotion and leaped back a few feet.
"A zombie?"
The squirrel exclaimed in their animal tongue, shocked.
’The human came back to life?’
Little White stood to the side, unaffected. It watched the pile of branches being scattered about, as if they were dancing.
Little White could see that something was wrong with Xie Fu Yao.
But it didn’t care.
After flinging off all the branches, Xie Fu Yao scrambled to his feet, his body covered in wounds.
But they were only flesh wounds.
Xie Fu Yao charged at Little White, but before he even got close, a gust of wind sent him flying.
This repeated twenty times!
The squirrel had been counting on its little digits. It was exactly twenty times!
Only when the human was in a truly pitiful state did Immortal Xiao Bai stop.
It looked at Xie Fu Yao, who was panting for breath, too exhausted to move, collapsed on the ground.
"You two watch him," Little White said. "I’m going to notify the production crew."
Little White could have taken Xie Fu Yao with it, of course, but it didn’t want to.
Xie Fu Yao wasn’t worthy of being carried by it.
By the time Little White appeared before Director Wen, fifteen minutes had passed.
"Xie Fu Yao is unconscious. Come quick."
Director Wen had no idea how Xie Fu Yao had gotten into trouble, let alone why he was still here.
’Hadn’t he left ages ago?’
But since he was here, he was the production’s responsibility. They couldn’t just ignore him.
Director Wen immediately grabbed some crew members and followed Little White.
The crew had already seen the video of Little White writing; while seeing it in person was still a shock, they were able to accept it.
At the edge of the mist, Director Wen looked at the person lying on the ground. For a moment, he couldn’t connect this figure with the handsome Xie Fu Yao.
Xie Fu Yao’s good looks were undeniable; otherwise, his company wouldn’t be pouring so many resources into promoting him.
But the person before him was covered in blood and mud, utterly filthy.
His hair was a tangled mess.
His clothes were torn, and his face was twisted into a savage expression. He looked no different from a beggar.
’Is this fucking Xie Fu Yao?’
’Did he just crawl out of a hobo camp?’
"Immortal Xiao Bai, why is Xie Fu Yao here?"
Little White tilted its head back, too proud to deign a response.
Director Wen gave an awkward laugh. "Yeah, the guy’s a real piece of work."
Little White wrote five words on the ground: "It’s dangerous here. Leave now."
Director Wen and his men immediately lifted Xie Fu Yao onto a back, preparing to run.
Director Wen’s sense of danger was undeniable.
"Best to tie him up."
It was rare for Little White to write more.
"Little White God, are you saying something’s wrong with Xie Fu Yao? That he’s not normal?"
Little White nodded.
The crew members immediately put him down, then tore off some vines to tie Xie Fu Yao up.
The pain caused Xie Fu Yao to open his eyes again. He snarled at the director and his men, baring his teeth.
One of the crew members jumped back in fright.
THUD.
Xie Fu Yao hit the ground again. Pain.
RAAAGH! RAAAGH! RAAAGH!
"Director, is he turning into a zombie?! Director, we should call the cops!"
Director Wen was terrified too!
But seeing how calm Little White God remained, he yelled, "What’s there to be afraid of! He’s already tied up! Wrap his arms and legs a few more times!"
