Chapter 66: LV10 (Pick A Class...)

It had been another week since the news of the Night Empress spread.

During that time, several phone calls and playful conversations with Hina had gradually pushed his Bond Points up to 97.

Just three more points.

Three more points before he could finally reach LV10.

Reiji also noticed something else.

Even though the crossover period had ended over two weeks ago, the Bond Points he gained from Hina were still much better than when he had first transmigrated into this world.

He couldn’t help but imagine that if Hina hadn’t gone on that vacation, he might have already reached LV15 or even higher.

Unfortunately, there was no point dwelling on the past. He could only focus on the future.

Even with the Night Empress persona keeping his identity hidden, Reiji had a feeling it was only a matter of time before the military figured something out.

***

Reiji stood in the kitchen later that evening.

He prepared dinner for both himself and Vel. Simple chicken again, with some rice on the side.

The familiar aroma quickly filled the house.

Vel sat on the counter, his tail lazily swaying from side to side.

’My Lord’s cooking always smells divine.’

Reiji simply plated the food without replying. They ate together in comfortable silence.

As usual, Vel finished first.

The cat looked up at Reiji expectantly. After dinner, Reiji quickly cleaned the dishes.

His gaze drifted toward the television before looking back at Vel.

"Do you want to watch a movie?" he asked.

Vel tilted his head. ’A movie?’

"You’ll see." Reiji turned on the TV and selected a horror movie.

Dark hallways. Creepy music. Jump scares.

He wanted to see if Vel would actually get scared. The cat always acted fearless. This should be interesting.

The movie began.

The characters slowly entered an abandoned house.

Shadows twisted unnaturally across the walls.

Suddenly, a ghost appeared with a loud screech.

Reiji glanced sideways.

He expected Vel to tense up. Maybe even hide behind a cushion.

Instead, Vel tilted his head.

’How fake. The blood, the ghost’s movements... it’s all fake. No real spirit would float so stiffly.’

Reiji’s eyebrow twitched.

The movie continued. Another jump scare.

A monster burst out from the darkness.

’See? Real fear doesn’t need such obvious cues. This servant has witnessed horrors far worse inside dungeons.’

Reiji tightened his grip around the remote. He silently endured it.

Another scene played.

’That man is too loud. Real victims usually stay quiet.’

Another scene.

Footsteps echoed through an abandoned hallway. A woman slowly reached for a doorknob. She opened it.

A monster suddenly appeared.

She screamed.

’She should’ve checked behind the curtain first.’ Vel commented telepathically once again.

Ten minutes later...

The main character tripped while running.

Vel frowned. ’That made no sense. Why would anyone run like that?’

That was it.

Click.

Reiji turned off the television. The screen immediately went black.

Vel blinked. ’My Lord?’

"You ruined it," Reiji muttered. "Completely ruined the mood."

Vel’s ears instantly drooped.

He quickly shuffled closer across the couch.

’This servant sincerely apologizes! I never meant to offend My Lord. Please don’t be angry. This humble servant will remain quiet next time.’

’Please forgive this unworthy servant.’

The telepathic voice sounded genuinely worried. Almost pleading.

Reiji sighed.

The cat looked so pitiful that it was difficult to stay annoyed.

"Fine."

He grabbed the remote again. "Just... no horror movies next time."

After scrolling for a while, he settled on something lighter.

The movie began.

A yellow robot suddenly transformed. Metal shifted. Parts rotated.

The vehicle became a towering mechanical warrior.

Vel’s eyes widened.

’What is this? The metal creature changed forms! Look at the way its parts move. They’re so smooth... yet incredibly complex.’

Reiji leaned back against the couch.

Vel, meanwhile, remained glued to the television.

Every transformation made the cat visibly more excited.

’That arm weapon! This servant has never seen such advanced technology. Can humans truly build something like this?’

Vel continued asking questions throughout the movie.

Reiji answered a few of them.

Watching the cat become fascinated by giant transforming robots turned out to be far more entertaining than the horror movie ever was.

By the time the credits rolled, Vel had already curled himself into a fluffy little ball on the couch.

Fast asleep.

His breathing remained slow and peaceful.

Reiji quietly stood up.

He grabbed a small blanket from the nearby chair and gently covered the sleeping cat.

Vel didn’t even stir.

Reiji switched off the television before turning off the lights.

The house fell into comfortable darkness.

He headed upstairs.

Stopping halfway, he glanced back at the couch.

Vel remained curled beneath the blanket.

A faint smile tugged at Reiji’s lips. "Annoying cat."

He quietly entered his bedroom.

Just as he was about to hit the hay the system notification rang in his head.

Ding!

[+6 Bond Points]

Reiji blinked.

His eyes immediately fell on the floating blue screen before him.

Ding!

Reiji slowly sat upright. He rubbed his chin before asking,

"Can I at least see their descriptions?"

[(눈‸눈)]

’Why are you always like this?’

The system gave no response.

Reiji didn’t bother arguing with it. Instead, he carefully examined every available class.

His attention lingered on the Advanced and Legendary Classes.

After thinking for a while, only two choices remained in his mind both from the Legendary Classes.

Celestial Archmage.

Dominion Sovereign.

He already had a rough idea of what an Archmage was. A Legendary version could only be absurdly powerful.

But... Dominion Sovereign.

That class was completely unfamiliar.

Still, considering the name of his system was the Dominion Bond System, it was hard to believe the class would be ordinary.

It was probably incredibly powerful.

Or... It could be completely useless in combat.

Reiji silently weighed the pros and cons.

Choosing blindly carried risks.

But so did ignoring a class that might perfectly match his system. After several long moments, he finally reached a decision.

"I choose..."

Ding!

Calm here...

I just wanted to say a few things:

1. The Mass Release has been cancelled. Unfortunately, reader retention has been lower than expected. If things don’t improve, I’ll have no choice but to put this book on hiatus or even drop it completely. That’s the last thing I want to do, but I also have to be realistic.

2. If you’ve been enjoying this story, your support would mean a lot. A comment, review, vote, Power Stone, or simply recommending it to others is more than enough to encourage me to keep going. Every bit of support helps this book grow and motivates me to continue.

3. I’m also planning to publish a new book soon, and I hope you’ll join me on that journey as well.

4. Don’t forget to join the Discord community! I’d love to interact with you all there.

5. From July 1st until the end of the month, this book will be on a trial period. If it doesn’t attract enough readers and support during that time, I’ll have to place it on hiatus.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading and supporting this story. I truly appreciate every single one of you.
