Chapter 51: Learn To Behave Like A Cat
Hina came out from the bathroom a little annoyed, ’I can’t even get a little time alone...’
"Hina?"
"Mom?"
Hina opened the door.
"Is anything the problem?"
"Sorry for troubling you, but could you come with me for a second?" Hina’s mom, Keiko, said to Hina.
"No problem, Mom."
Hina stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her.
Keiko then walked down the hall, which Hina followed behind her.
Soon, the two of them arrived in front of the beach of the private resort.
Hina carefully asked,
"Mom, what is it you called me here for?"
Keiko turned to Hina and said,
"Is something bothering you?"
Hina was taken aback but quickly recovered.
"Nothing. Why do you ask?"
Keiko responded gently,
"Since the beginning of the trip, you’ve been down. Your mind wasn’t here and has been wandering somewhere else. I know the disappearance of all the men was really devastating. Even your father’s ashes disappeared. It really shocked me, and I still couldn’t understand it."
After a short pause she continued.
"But what I want to tell you is that I really want you to enjoy this vacation. You know that this trip was mainly for you. We all know how much you loved Reiji, so having him disappear was really something we didn’t see coming."
Hina wasn’t careful. She didn’t realize that they too didn’t know Reiji was alive. She felt a little bad for not telling them, but at the same time, she knew that telling them might mean many people would find out.
So she was stuck in the middle.
She didn’t know if she should tell her mom outright or just keep it to herself for now.
She also didn’t realize that her behavior was giving away too much, something she herself hadn’t noticed.
’I guess I should focus on the trip so they won’t notice anything wrong again,’ Hina told herself.
"I understand, Mom. Don’t worry. I’ll enjoy the vacation and relax a bit."
A smile appeared on Keiko’s beautiful face, "I’m glad you understand, and I hope you also enjoy the trip. You should know when to stop thinking about something and just relax. You might not get this opportunity again, so just go in there and enjoy."
Hina smiled. "Don’t worry, I understand, Mom."
’I’ll try to enjoy the vacation, but it still won’t be the same if Rei-kun wasn’t here,’ Hina sighed inwardly.

Reiji sat up straight on the couch. He picked up his phone and checked the time. It was already getting late.
’What should we have for dinner?’
Reiji thought as he headed over to the fridge and opened it.
He picked out some items.
’I don’t think this will last for more than three weeks, since I have another mouth to feed.’
Reiji thought as he glanced over at the living room where Vel was busy engrossed in the TV.
"I might eventually order takeout. But the problem is the signing part."
Reiji ran a hand through his hair.
"Let me just leave that problem for future me."
Reiji muttered to himself.
He knew that thinking too much about it wouldn’t solve anything as he strolled over to the kitchen counter, placing the items he took out of the fridge on it.
Then a thought suddenly crossed his mind.
"The system market..."
But then he remembered that he had no Xcoins left and had spent it all on lottery spins.
1100 Xcoins gone like that.
’I really need to stop this habit of mine...’
Reiji silently thought as he chopped the cabbage, but he knew that he would never be able to control himself when there was a spinning wheel and prizes involved.
An hour later, Reiji was done cooking.
Today’s menu was tofu.
Reiji carried the food over to the table.
He placed Vel’s bowl on the ground.
He had always made Vel’s food differently from his.
Even though Vel was a Velsra who had transformed into a cat, Reiji still wasn’t sure what he could or couldn’t eat.
Cats were supposed to be allergic to things like soy sauce and garlic... or at least that’s what he vaguely remembered.
Better safe than sorry.
Vel jumped down from the couch and immediately started eating the cooked fish and tofu with enthusiasm.
"Hey, I told you to slow down when eating."
"Iss too guuud, meeoww."
Vel said while still devouring the food.
"Don’t talk when you’re eating. Also, you shouldn’t even be speaking."
"What, meow?!"
Vel said after swallowing the food in his mouth.
"Yes, you heard me. If my girlfriend sees you speaking, she might kill you out of fright or kill you thinking you’re some chick who transformed into a girl and is trying to steal me away from her."
Reiji said with a straight face.
-And that really might be what she might think.
Vel immediately stopped eating and stared at Reiji.
"My Lord, starting from now my lips are sealed, meow."
"You dumbass. If your lips are sealed, how will you eat? Or should I take the food away?"
Reiji said, reaching for the food.
Vel immediately pulled the food behind him and unconsciously glared at Reiji.
"Are you glaring at me?"
"I would never, My Lord, but I didn’t say I won’t eat, meow."
Reiji just rolled his eyes at him.
"But not speaking won’t be enough, since you’re technically a cat now. You would have to behave like one."
"Meow?"
"You should act like a cat."
Vel tilted his head.
He didn’t understand how much more of a cat he should act.
He didn’t even know what a cat was.
Seeing Vel’s confusion, Reiji reluctantly said,
"The creature you are currently taking the form of is called a cat. So if you want to live when my girlfriend comes back, you’ll have to behave like a real cat."
Vel immediately replied,
"My Lord, I’m ready to learn how to behave like a cat, meow."
He didn’t want to kiss this sweet life goodbye.
"Alright. But after we’re done eating."
Reiji picked up his chopsticks.
"Thank you for the meal."
After the meal, Reiji took the dishes to the sink.
After washing them, he walked over to the living room to begin their training.
But seeing Vel already asleep, Reiji sighed.
"I guess we can postpone it until tomorrow."
Reiji gently carried Vel upstairs.
