Chapter 2676: Chapter 149: Everyone Is Acting Strange
"Stella, shh... stop talking. Have you forgotten what that person instructed..."
"I know, but Secretary Wellington is now on the rise. Even if we don’t say anything, she won’t be able to hold back. Everybody can guess how she’ll choose between work and that person..."
Stella Brown’s words were stopped by others.
Molly Wellington wanted to hear more details, but the people inside didn’t continue the topic.
She stood at the corner outside, frowning slightly.
What does ’won’t be able to hold back as soon as she gains power’ mean?
And ’everybody can guess she’ll choose that person over work’...
After being sick for three days and in a daze those three days, Molly Wellington faintly felt that something was out of her control.
She waited for a moment, then entered the conference room after the conversation inside had ended.
As she pushed the door open, she clearly heard an audible gasp from inside the conference room.
That gasp was not from just one person but from several people simultaneously.
Everyone’s small intake of breath went together, making the sound clearer.
This showed that quite a few people in the conference room didn’t expect her to appear and seemed surprised by her arrival.
Molly lifted her eyes and looked around. On both sides of the conference table were not only Royal Palace employees but also those from the Loyalty Group.
Everyone raised their heads to look at her, with expressions of surprise more or less visible in their eyes.
"Hello, everyone..." Molly greeted everyone present graciously, "These days I’ve been ill. My absence from work has brought inconvenience to everyone..."
"No, no, no, there’s no inconvenience. Secretary Wellington, with your health condition, you should rest well..."
"Exactly, exactly, you just had a high fever, you should stay in bed more and recuperate."
Before Molly could finish speaking, several senior executives from the Loyalty Group jumped up to console her.
To Molly’s surprise, the enthusiasm of the Loyalty Group employees was even higher than that of the Royal Palace’s.
On the contrary, aside from the paratroopers she brought and Johnson Williams, others from Royal Palace seemed hesitant, as if avoiding suspicion.
The senior executives from the market and management departments hesitated a bit but eventually greeted her after some wavering.
However, Maggie and Stella Brown glared at her with extremely critical and disdainful eyes.
If Molly remembered correctly, her fever and illness were all thanks to Stella Brown.
Ha... she’s recovered from her illness and hasn’t yet settled accounts with Stella Brown, yet Stella dares to stir up trouble first.
Molly wasn’t at all deterred, and she walked straightforwardly up to Stella Brown: "Mr. Brown, what’s with that look? If you’re unhappy with me, you might as well say it out loud."
Stella was clearly not expecting Molly to confront her so directly.
Her face darkened slightly, and she forced a smirk: "Secretary Wellington, you must be joking. You’re the company’s star; how could I be unhappy with you?"
"Oh, really?" Molly also curved her lips into a smile, but hers was even colder and more beautiful than Stella’s.
"Since you have no dissatisfaction with me, let me talk about my dissatisfaction with you. Mr. Brown, pulling me into the swimming pool and causing me to fall, frighten, and result in a high fever — do you plan to pretend nothing happened?
When you make a mistake, shouldn’t you apologize first?"
"I..." Stella was clearly not anticipating that someone like Molly would ask for an apology from her in front of everyone.
According to Stella’s observations, Molly, despite having a life as fragile as paper, has ambitions higher than the sky.
A regular college student with an exceptionally strong ego, fond of pretending to be noble.
Stella had thought that Molly would not bring up such embarrassing matters on the spot at all.
