Chapter 2671: Chapter 144: Molly, Be Good, Let Go First...
The unique fragrance on Molly Wellington’s body could easily stir his longing or easily calm him down.
He took a few deep breaths, letting her scent permeate his lungs.
Abraham Redington’s tense lower abdomen finally relaxed a bit.
"Molly, don’t be like this, sleep well..." he murmured to the woman who was trying hard to burrow into his embrace, saying something he couldn’t hear, and slowly pulled her away.
Abraham didn’t know why Molly Wellington suddenly acted this way, he only assumed that, like when she was a child, she lacked a sense of security while sleeping and liked to hold onto something to fall asleep.
"Mmm... cold... cold..." Molly Wellington hummed softly.
Unfortunately, her voice was very soft, and since her head was buried in Abraham Redington’s embrace, it was hard to discern the monosyllables she uttered.
Several times Abraham tried to pull Molly Wellington away, but she clung to him like a koala and was unwilling to leave.
Her hands clung tightly around him, her head pressed hard into his chest, and her legs were obstinately fixed around his waist.
Abraham’s blue almond-shaped eyes flashed bright and dark alternately, and the desire he had just managed to suppress was easily stirred up again by Molly Wellington’s restless movements.
"Molly..." he lowered his voice, hoarse and deep, almost gritting his teeth as he whispered, "Sleep well, don’t be naughty."
Over the years, Abraham, who had long been in charge, usually brought out a strong, cold presence that was as chilling as frost sweeping past.
But at this moment, although it seemed like Molly Wellington was murmuring, she was actually unconscious. Her body felt a numbing cold that instinctively drove her to squeeze closer to the warm ’aura’.
"So cold...cold...very cold..." Molly Wellington snuggled closer to Abraham, showing no intention of backing down.
Her soft lips unknowingly brushed against Abraham’s chest several times.
Such provocation was really hard for Abraham to bear.
Just as he was about to get out of bed and go to the bathroom to cool off with a cold shower, the little woman holding him suddenly nuzzled up, and her crystalline lips inadvertently bit into the outer edge of his earlobe.
"Cold... so cold... hold me..."
Her soft voice carried a sobbing plea, a frightened and wandering sound, exactly like back then.
Abraham’s blue eyes narrowed, his large hands reflexively clutching Molly Wellington’s tender hips, lifting the soft and weak woman upward.
He remembered.
Back then, after Molly Wellington had fallen into the water and he saved her, she began to run a high fever overnight, one that refused to subside for quite some time. It wasn’t until his mother wore Skye Brown’s clothes, sprayed Skye’s perfume, and held Molly that she started to cool down.
At that time, Molly Wellington also whispered like now, unaware of what she was saying.
Vaguely, the word ’cold’ could be discerned.
Later, when she was asked after recovering from her illness, she revealed that during her feverish slumber, she dreamt she was in the dark depths of the water.
Molly said that at the bottom, she felt extremely cold, as if being submerged under a frozen lake.
Abraham’s eyes darkened, instinctively lifting another hand to touch Molly Wellington’s forehead.
Sure enough, it was burning hot!
She was running a high fever.
Abraham’s deep blue eyes suddenly turned somber.
He wanted to place Molly Wellington on the bed, letting her lie down properly, so that he could fetch her some medicine.
But several attempts to pull her off were in vain; the little woman clinging to him refused to let go, holding onto Abraham tightly.
Abraham: "..."
The man could only helplessly and gently pat her back, "Molly, be good, let go for a moment... I’ll find some medicine for you."
If taking the antipyretic doesn’t reduce the fever, the family doctor must be summoned immediately.
