Chapter 2576: Chapter 49: Molly Lewis, Would You Consider Abbie?
Before long, Molly Wellington changed into a light blue dress and came downstairs.
Seeing her daughter’s attire, Skye Brown couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache.
Molly usually wore casual outfits like short sleeves and shorts at home.
But upon hearing she was going to the Lucas family, she immediately dressed in a more beautiful dress.
Skye entirely misunderstood Molly’s deliberate effort as her liking Jordan Lancaster, wanting to show her best side to her future in-laws, but couldn’t bear to tell her the truth she would face.
Taking advantage of the moment when Molly wasn’t around, she turned to grab Dylan Wellington’s arm: "Husband... maybe we shouldn’t go, just let you go alone to talk to Mr. Lucas and Lily, without arguing, just talk nicely. I’m afraid Molly won’t be able to handle it later."
"We have to go, of course." To Skye’s surprise, Dylan firmly rejected her suggestion.
"Even if Ethan Wilson and I are as close as life and death, and you and Lily Redington share a deep bond, the Lucas family must personally apologize to Molly for the wrong they’ve done. I won’t be the one to tell Molly about this, and you’re not allowed to either. I want to see how the Lucas family will manage to speak up this time."
Dylan maintained a firm attitude.
His bond with Aidan Lucas was stronger than that of blood brothers, and this incident wouldn’t create a rift between them.
But Molly was his precious daughter, his cherished little princess, even if she’s grown up, she’s still a princess, meant to be treasured.
His Molly was clever, adorable, smart, and beautiful; he didn’t understand how she was inferior to that... that... man!
Indeed.
This was what angered Dylan the most.
Jordan Lancaster, as the eldest son of the Lucas family, an esteemed young master with the potential to be the most promising general in the military...
He... he actually liked a man.
Ignoring such an outstanding fiancée as Molly for a man.
If it weren’t for the military compound being off-limits, Dylan would have wanted to storm in, drag Jordan out, and give him a good beating.
Ask him if he was blind.
"Let’s go, Molly... The Lucas family is already waiting; we don’t want to keep them for long."
*
Mr. and Mrs. Wellington arrived at the Lucas family’s mansion shortly after with Molly.
Compared to the tense yet forcibly restrained atmosphere between the parents,
Molly was still immersed in the excitement of soon seeing Abraham Redington.
Her little feelings were known only to her.
Before the exams, Abraham moved out of the Lucas family to avoid distracting her; that passionate and assertive kiss was their last intimate moment.
On the day of the exam, he appeared for a moment; she didn’t even catch his full face before he disappeared again.
Thinking about it, they hadn’t seen each other for almost ten days.
After such a long time, she missed him so much and wondered if he missed her too.
Molly, filled with rosy dreams, entered the Lucas family.
She followed behind Dylan Wellington and Skye Brown, sneaking peeks around to see if Abraham was there.
But even after entering the living room with her parents, she didn’t spot that familiar figure.
"Molly, come sit... Mr. Wellington, Skye, you too, have a seat."
Seeing the Wellington family arrive, Lily Redington quickly stood up and led Molly to sit down.
In the living room, besides Lily Redington, were also Mr. Lucas and Yana.
Neither Jordan Lancaster nor Abraham Redington was there — the man Molly feared seeing and wanted to see.
She instinctively glanced around but then heard her godmother’s voice: "Molly, I’m sorry, the Lucas family owes you an apology... I want to ask you, what do you think of Andrew? If the engagement with Ben isn’t possible, would you consider Andrew?"
