The next day, while it was still dark, they both woke up. To be precise, Cherish Turner was awakened by William Griffith.
"Could you stop holding me?" she asked him.
William, seemingly entertained by the unfolding drama, responded in a low voice, "No."
"Then can I leave?" She pushed him away a bit, but he tightened his grip.
"No." The same two words, spoken so lightly that she was nearly driven to madness.
"What did you use, it smells so good, I really like it." He breathed into her ear.
She groaned in frustration and indulged in it.
"Our bodies suit each other."
He said.
From his tone, it seemed that his anger hadn’t subsided.
She closed her eyes. Is that how it is, so long as their bodies entwined with each other, love didn’t matter?
If that’s the case, would he feel a little better? But the explanations she had yet to utter, for her, were truly unbearable.
