Chapter 107: Chapter 107; Desperation

Emily’s POV

I screamed, grabbing a heavy porcelain vase from my vanity and hurling it directly at the wall. It shattered into a million jagged pieces, scattering across the floor to join the rest of the wreckage. My entire bedroom was completely destroyed.

I aggressively pushed my hair backward, my chest heaving as pure, suffocating panic clawed at my throat. Nothing—absolutely nothing—was going well for me anymore.

Ilya’s grand plan had completely failed. She didn’t go ahead with the marriage to Lucian, meaning he was still completely out of my reach. To make matters worse, Knox was actively out to get me.

Nothing was going fucking well, and I was on the absolute brink of losing my goddamn shit.

"No," I whispered fiercely, my manicured nails digging into my palms until they bled. "No, I can’t just let this happen. I can’t sit here and watch everything crumble."

I needed to do something. Anything. I had to gain back control of this situation. I couldn’t let Lucian slip away from me, no matter what dark lines I had to cross to keep him.

I snatched my phone off the bed, my fingers trembling with rage as I quickly dialed a familiar number. The second the line picked up, I didn’t even give him a chance to speak.

"Meet me at the usual spot right now," I commanded coldly.

Without waiting for a response, I ended the call and tossed the phone into my bag.

I smoothed down my clothes, trying to compose myself as I stepped out of my wrecked bedroom. But the moment I crossed the threshold into the hallway, I flinched, my heart leaping into my throat.

Aiden was standing right there.

His sharp eyes scanned my face, his eyebrows knitting together in deep concern. "Where are you going, Emily? Are you okay?" He paused, tilting his head toward my door. "I could hear things smashing inside your room."

I forced my posture to relax, swallowing the panic. "I’m completely fine, Aiden. There’s no problem at all."

Aiden stepped closer, his gaze heavy and analytical. "Are you absolutely sure?"

"Yes," I lied smoothly, forcing a sweet, reassuring smile onto my lips. "I just really need to go out and meet up with some of my old friends for a bit. I will be back soon, okay?"

Aiden stared at me for another beat before he finally let out a soft sigh and nodded. "Okay. Be safe."

I gave him a quick, tight nod. The very second I turned my back to him and walked away, the fake smile faded instantly from my face, replaced by a dark, rigid scowl as I hurried out of the estate.

Thirty minutes later, I finally arrived at our usual secluded destination. I stepped into the dim space, and my eyes instantly locked onto the man waiting for me. Davon.

The moment he saw me, a slow, incredibly mocking grin broke across his handsome face. He uncoiled from the wall, stepping directly into my personal space. "Well... I am honestly surprised you wanted to meet up with me, Emily," he said, his voice dripping with absolute amusement. He leaned in closer. "I thought you completely forgot about me, Emily."

"Stop it, Davon," I snapped, stepping back to create distance between us. "I didn’t come here for any of your stupid games."

Davon let out a low chuckle, crossing his thick arms over his chest. "Why not? I mean, I’m apparently completely useless to you now that you’re married. But why the radio silence? You used to always say I’m the only one who gives you all the spice you actually need in your life... so why didn’t you ever call me again, Emily?"

He had a specific, lingering way of pronouncing my name that annoyed me to the absolute core.

"I came here because I need a favor," I stated flatly, cutting straight to the point.

"Ahhh," Davon purred, his grin widening into something predatory. "Now I finally get it. You didn’t come here today to get fucked by me... you just came for a favor. Typical Emily. So, what exactly do you want from me, Emily?"

I sucked in a sharp breath, blocking out his condescending tone. "I want you to woo someone. I want you to make her fall completely in love with you. Do whatever the hell it takes, use whatever charms you have, but I want her completely fallen for you."

Davon’s eyebrows raised in genuine amusement. "Interesting. Who exactly are we talking about here?"

I pulled my phone out of my purse, pulling up a clear photograph, and thrust the screen into his face. It was a photo of Alina.

Davon leaned in, his eyes widening slightly as he inspected her features. "Wow... she is incredibly pretty." He reached his hand out, intending to take the phone from me to get a closer look, but I aggressively snatched it back before he could touch it.

A dark grin remained plastered on his lips.

"Can you do this for me or not?" I demanded, glaring at him.

Davon tilted his head, his eyes scanning down my body. "What’s the catch with this, Emily? What exactly do I get out of it?"

"Whatever you want, I will give it to you," I promised desperately.

"If that’s the case... let me kiss you right now," he whispered, stepping forward until our chests were practically touching.

I clenched my jaw, staring up at him. "Is that all you want?"

"No," Davon smirked, his voice dropping into a dark, explicit promise. "You’re also going to let me fuck you as well."

My blood ran cold. "Not a goddamn chance," I hissed.

Davon immediately shrugged his shoulders, turning around as if to walk away. "Then I won’t do a single thing for you."

"Fuck it. Fine!" I spat out, the words burning my throat.

Davon’s eyes lit up with pure victory. He whipped back around, a wicked smirk playing on his lips, and grabbed me firmly by the waist. Before I could even gasp, he lifted my body entirely off the floor, pinning me against him.

"I am taking you straight to my house," he growled against my neck, his grip possessive and heavy. "And I am going to fuck you exactly like I’ve been wanting to."

I closed my eyes tightly, resting my hands against his broad shoulders as he carried me away toward his car. If this is what it takes to get Alina completely away from Lucian, I told myself, swallowing my disgust and nodding blindly against his shoulder, I will do whatever it takes.
