Chapter 451: Chapter 451: Say I Love You From This Moment On (51)
「Newcroft. The villa district.」
Ever since she called Silas Kent yesterday, Mika Summers’s mood had become heavy.
’I can’t shake the feeling that something bad is about to happen...’
Tristan Grayson saw her standing at the sink, supposedly washing dishes, but her hands hadn’t moved for a long time. He placed Kiki on the sofa and walked over to Mika. When he reached her side, he wrapped his arms around her waist, rested his head on her shoulder, and asked softly, "What’s wrong?"
"It’s nothing." Mika snapped out of her daze at the sound of his voice and shook her head with a smile.
"Let me wash up. You go spend time with Kiki."
Mika put down the bowl she was holding, washed her hands, and turned to face Tristan Grayson, her expression serious. "Tristan, I need to tell you something. But you have to promise you won’t get angry when you hear it."
"What is it?" Seeing her sudden seriousness, Tristan’s smile faded.
"First promise me you won’t get angry, then I’ll tell you."
Seeing her anxious expression, Tristan gave a knowing smile and nodded. "Alright, I promise. No matter what you say, I won’t get angry." ’I’ve only just gotten her back; how could I possibly bear to be angry with her? What a silly girl.’
"Tristan... Silas Kent and I got engaged in Austerra," Mika said uneasily, clenching her fists and lowering her head slightly.
At her words, Tristan’s expression froze, and the look in his eyes became unreadable.
When Tristan didn’t say anything, Mika looked up and asked worriedly, "Tristan, are you angry?"
Tristan shook his head and pulled her into a tight embrace. "No, I’m not angry. The truth is, I already knew, you silly girl."
"You already knew?" Mika looked up at him, shocked.
Tristan lowered his head to kiss her forehead, a sly smile playing on his lips. "Mhm. Why else do you think I showed up in Austerra?"
Mika hugged Tristan tightly without another word, but a complicated look filled her eyes.
’Tristan knows I was engaged to Silas. Logically, I should be relieved, but I still can’t seem to rest easy.’
’Maybe I can only be truly at peace with Tristan once Silas forgives me. Otherwise, I’ll always have this heavy sense of guilt...’
「Sovereign Pictures.」
Inside the CEO’s office, Silas Kent drummed his fingers on the desk, his eyes dark and stormy.
Jessica Archer came in and placed a file on his desk. "Mr. Kent, here are the documents you requested."
"Alright. You may go."
"Yes."
As Jessica Archer left, Silas Kent picked up the file, idly flipped through a couple of pages, then tossed it back onto the desk.
He got up, pulled out his phone, and walked over to the window.
He called her. The line connected after three or four rings.
"Hello, Silas?" her slightly anxious voice came through the line.
At the sound of her voice, Silas’s brows knitted together, and a mocking smirk touched his lips. "Mika, even if you’re getting back together with him, even if you’re choosing to be with him, that’s no reason to cut off all contact with me. Tomorrow, be at Sovereign for work, on time. I’ll be waiting."
He said it all in a rush, then immediately hung up.
Staring out at the world beyond the window, Silas’s eyes filled with a look of utter desolation...
Mika stared at her phone, her eyes glazed over. Tristan gently tapped her on the head. "Whatever you decide to do, I’ll respect your decision."
"But if I go back to work, I’ll have to see Silas Kent every single day. You’re really okay with that?"
