Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Tacit Agreement

A faint blush crept up Mika Summers’s face as she turned stiffly to look at Tristan Grayson. When she saw him looking right back at her, her cheeks burned even redder. Flushed with anger, she snapped, "Get out!"

"?" Tristan Grayson arched a handsome brow, confused as to why she had suddenly gotten angry.

"I told you to get out. Didn’t you hear me?"

Tristan Grayson’s face fell. "Mika Summers, don’t take it too far!" He’d indulged her whims enough for one night, and now she was actually trying to kick him out...

Mika Summers’s face was a whirlwind of emotions. She threw back the covers, got out of bed with Kiki in her arms, and marched over to Tristan Grayson. Shoving Kiki into his arms, she said in a cold, hard voice, "Tristan Grayson, your son is hungry. You’re so capable, you deal with it!"

"—" Even as inexperienced as Tristan Grayson was with babies, he immediately understood what she meant.

A warmth spread through his chest. A roguish smile played on his lips, and he arched a handsome brow. His tone turned flirtatious. "So, you didn’t really want me to leave. Our son is just hungry?"

"—" Mika Summers said nothing, simply turning her back on Tristan Grayson.

Holding Kiki, Tristan Grayson stood up, clearly in high spirits. He chuckled, a roguish glint in his eyes. "Since you’re not saying anything, I’ll take that as a yes. Besides, it doesn’t matter if I stay or go. Is there any part of you I haven’t already seen?"

"Tristan Grayson, you’re shameless!" At his words, Mika Summers spun around and pointed a finger at him, seething with anger.

"Heh, all right, don’t be angry. Just hold Kiki tight. I’ll wait outside for you." Getting yelled at by her didn’t make Tristan Grayson angry. Instead, he felt a warmth spread through him, and his tone softened considerably.

After taking Kiki, Mika Summers sat back down on the bed. Once Tristan Grayson was out, she placed Kiki on the bed and went to lock the door. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Tristan; it was that she couldn’t trust herself.

’No matter what, my heart just refuses to beat calmly whenever I’m around Tristan Grayson...’

’I’m afraid that after just these few hours together, all my resolve will crumble, and I’ll throw myself at him all over again...’

Tristan Grayson waited for about half an hour before getting up from his chair in the hallway. But when he found he couldn’t open the door, he realized that woman had tricked him.

’She lied about our son being hungry just to kick me out?’

’Fine. She played this well. Getting bolder and smarter by the day...’

With a grim expression, Tristan Grayson raised his foot to kick the door down, but the thought that he might wake his son made him stop. He had no choice but to restrain himself.

He clenched his fists, spun around in frustration, and sat back down on the chair in the hallway.

「The next morning.」

Mika Summers left the hospital room carrying Kiki, only to see a few nurses huddled around Tristan Grayson, whispering and taking photos. He was fast asleep, stretched out on the hallway chairs, completely undisturbed by the small commotion.

She felt a flicker of surprise and anger. Forcing down the complicated emotions, she turned and walked away with Kiki in her arms.

’So what if he waited outside all night? It doesn’t mean anything.’

By the time Tristan Grayson woke up, it was already past nine in the morning. When he saw the hospital room door standing wide open, a sense of panic and dread seized him. He rushed over... but... just as he’d feared, she was gone.

Staring into the empty room, a bitter, self-mocking smile touched his lips.
