Chapter 293: Chapter 292: Swamp 3-Headed Snake

(PS: A relative has passed away, so I have to go back and help. There will only be four updates.)

’That’s Nancy? I guess clothes really do make the man!’

Shu Feng’s gaze fell upon a young Dog Race Sub-human maid among the servants. The young maid wore a black and white, lace-trimmed maid outfit. Her skin was smooth and supple, her eyes large and bright, and her features exquisitely beautiful. A pair of dog ears twitched slightly, making her appear incredibly lovely and cute. This was Nancy, the young Dog Race Sub-human Shu Feng had brought back with him.

"Nancy, where did you get that stone in your hand?"

Shu Feng’s gaze suddenly sharpened. He walked over to Nancy and took the amber-colored stone from her hand.

Nancy looked at Shu Feng with tears in her eyes. "It was my father’s... a keepsake. He found it near a swamp."

Shu Feng pressed on, "Where is that swamp? Do you know?"

Source Energy could be refined from that amber-colored stone. This meant that the swamp where it was found likely held a massive amount of it.

Shu Feng’s Source Energy was almost completely depleted. He currently had a little over 3,000 points left and was in urgent need of replenishment.

Nancy nodded. "I know."

Shu Feng said, "Take me there!"

Nancy replied, "Yes, Master!"

Ten li west of Mire Dragon City lay the seemingly endless Mire Dragon Marsh, home to countless terrifying monsters. Even experts of the Spirit Venerable Realm risked death if they entered the marsh and made the slightest mistake.

Although the Mire Dragon Marsh was fraught with danger, it also nurtured some fine treasures. The most famous of these were the Illusory Mist Pearls and Mire Dragon Fruits produced in the marsh.

Illusory Mist Pearls were treasures nurtured by a creature called the Illusory Mist Pearl Clam within the Mire Dragon Marsh, and they had the effect of extending one’s lifespan. A Yellow Level Illusory Mist Pearl could extend one’s life by one year, and a Profound Level one by five years. Of course, each person could only consume one Illusory Mist Pearl to increase their lifespan; taking more would have no effect.

Even so, a single Yellow Level Illusory Mist Pearl was priced at over one hundred million, and they were often unavailable even if one had the money. Of course, Yellow Level Illusory Mist Pearls were also extremely rare; not even one might appear in the entire Mire Dragon Territory in a whole year.

The Mire Dragon Fruit was a Profound Level Treasure of Heaven and Earth with the divine effect of strengthening the human body. In addition, it was also the main ingredient for the Top Level Antitoxic Pill. A single Mire Dragon Fruit was priced at over one billion.

The shops in Mire Dragon City bought up the specialties of the Mire Dragon Marsh, which was what allowed the Mire Dragon Territory to collect some pitiful amount of commercial tax.

「The edge of the Mire Dragon Marsh.」

Nancy pointed toward a section of the swamp and said, "This is the place! My father found the stone right here."

’This place isn’t as simple as it looks.’

Shu Feng looked toward that part of the swamp, a grave expression flashing in his eyes.

That part of the swamp was shrouded in a faint, black, miasmic fog. Even with Shu Feng’s powerful eyesight, he could only see a thousand meters ahead. Outside, with an unobstructed view, he could easily see the wings of a fly from ten thousand meters away.

The dark swamp was filled with all sorts of sludge. With the exception of the Lizardman Sub-humans, most creatures that stood on it would be caught by the mud and slowly dragged down into the swamp’s abyss.

’Even the Steel Beast would only be able to use ten or twenty percent of its full strength in this swampy environment.’

With a thought, Shu Feng summoned the Steel Beast and six Dragon Hunting Dogs.

Guarded by the Steel Beast, Shu Feng walked step by step to the edge of the Mire Dragon Marsh.

Just as Shu Feng reached the edge of the Mire Dragon Marsh, thick swamp bloodleeches suddenly shot out from the sludge, lunging straight for him.

The swamp bloodleeches were one of the most common types of Demons in the Mire Dragon Marsh. Their skin was incredibly hard, capable of resisting sword and knife strikes from ordinary people. If an ordinary person was bitten by one, they would be drained of their blood until they became a dried-up corpse.

The Steel Beast swung its blade, and with flashes of its sword, the swamp bloodleeches were instantly diced into pieces and fell from the air.

’Analyze environment!’

Shu Feng walked to the edge of the Mire Dragon Marsh and pressed his hand down. Transparent tentacles surged from his hand, piercing into the putrid swamp to begin its analysis.

’Environmental analysis complete!’

Countless streams of data flashed through the Central Analyzer, and a line of information quickly appeared in Shu Feng’s mind.

Shu Feng immediately entered the Base Space and went before the Source Energy Evolutionary Mutation Nest. He then tossed a small Swamp Black Serpent into the nest.

The Swamp Black Serpent was a very common Demon in the Mire Dragon Marsh. The largest of them could evolve into a behemoth over thirty meters long, making them one of the top predators in the Mire Dragon Swamp.

However, very few Swamp Black Serpents could grow into thirty-meter-long behemoths; most of them were young snakes at the bottom of the food chain.

This particular Swamp Black Serpent was one that had been captured by Lizardmen and sold at the market.

Shu Feng commanded, ’Integrate the genes of a Gulondo World Nine-headed Serpent.’

The Pitch-Black Hand’s Treasure Vault contained a sample of Essence Blood from a Legendary Level Nine-headed Serpent of Gulondo World. The Base’s gene bank also possessed the genes of the Gulondo World’s Nine-headed Serpent.

Inside the Source Energy Evolutionary Mutation Nest, a massive amount of slime sprayed out from several pipes, enveloping the less-than-a-meter-long Swamp Black Serpent. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Transparent tentacles pierced into the Swamp Black Serpent’s body, frantically pumping it full of Source Energy to induce genetic mutation.

The chopstick-thin Swamp Black Serpent immediately began to swell up like an inflating balloon, its skin cracking and tearing again and again.

When the Swamp Black Serpent grew to twenty meters, bulges began to grow one by one along its neck.

When the Swamp Black Serpent reached thirty meters, two of the bulges split open, transforming into two enormous serpent heads that appeared before Shu Feng, radiating a ferocious aura.

"Swamp Three-headed Serpent. Power: 210, Agility: 205, Defense: 249, Spirit: 120, Constitution: 270, Spiritual Power: 2,000,000."

"Special Abilities: Middle Extraordinary Level Extraordinary Regeneration, Middle Extraordinary Level Extraordinary Defense, Middle Extraordinary Level Extraordinary Power, Lower Extraordinary Level Extraordinary Speed, Middle Extraordinary Level Extraordinary Resistance, Swamp Movement, Venom Spray."

"Ability Description: Venom Spray. The Swamp Three-headed Serpent can spray a highly toxic and corrosive liquid to attack its enemies. Range: 100 meters."

Shu Feng’s eyes lit up. ’Not bad! This Swamp Black Serpent is pretty good! A Spirit Sect Level combat creature. A pity that with my current resources, I can only synthesize about fifty of them.’

Shu Feng had obtained massive resources during the battle with the Ancient Xiyi Civilization. However, he had used most of them to synthesize Dragon Hunting Dogs and Hundred-Colored Dragon Eagles.
