Chapter 5169: Betrayal Of The Era?

"Curses!"

Realm Master Malzor Hexadra roared with raw fury as he smashed a table. He couldn’t believe that little bitch killed Saint Riyal Mendez, whom he had so many plans for.

"Realm Master, please calm down!"

The elders all knelt in the hall of the Hexadra Clan, their arms trembling at the undulations of his might. Even though the Realm Master in front of them was just an avatar, he could still utilize the power of the Realm Core.

Realm Master Malzor Hexadra continued to make a mess as he ruined every piece of furniture they had brought inside the hall after he broke them one after another.

He didn’t dare to rage outside in front of the Celestial Transcendent, but inside the hall, he had already killed a few who had gotten on his nerves.

But suddenly, the Realm Master became eerily silent.

He received the news that the Divine Emperor of Death had appeared.

He silently whispered, "Fraser Herrion."

Inside his head, Accursed Warlock appeared like a ghost, cackling coldly.

"What did the Hell Hydra Monarch say?" Realm Master Malzor Hexadra asked with a cold glint in his eyes.

"This is your final chance. Bring the blessed woman, and you and your clan shall receive riches and your own Upper Realm or a big chunk of cultivation ground in the Greater Realm, enough to be considered a holy land."

Realm Master Malzor Hexadra made a grunt, "The Divine Emperor of Death appeared."

"The blessed woman is the highest priority. As for the Divine Emperor of Death, the Hell Hydra Monarch doesn’t care, as this isn’t his galaxy, although I would be grateful if you could get rid of him for me. Hehehe~"

Fraser Herrion cackled as he disappeared again, making Realm Master Malzor Hexadra take a deep breath before he turned to look at the elders.

"Is everyone ready as mandated?"

"Yes!"

Darkness instantly soared into the hall. It encompassed everyone and rushed out of the hall and flew outside like it was a gust of wind.

In the battlefield, Realm Master Malzor Hexadra’s eyes narrowed.

He eyed Madam Wesley, who was in the rear of the battlefield camp. He made his way there with a friendly smile, even making some small talk with the generals and the Heaven’s Warriors on the way before he met the Celestial Transcendent seated right before a tent.

"What are you here for?"

The Celestial Transcendent took a sip out of a teacup. Its warmth entered his body and made him reveal a gentle smile.

"What else other than to greet the person chosen by our Ancestral World Spirit?"

"Maybe another time."

"..."

The Celestial Transcendent casually responded, causing Realm Master Malzor Hexadra to smile.

"I’m afraid I have to meet her today, no matter what."

The former kept the teacup on the table and stood up, "Have you finally made your decision?"

Realm Master Malzor Hexadra’s lips curled into a wicked smile. The power of the Realm Core surged from him, pushing him to the level of a Hierarch.

The Celestial Transcendent, who could only reach the layer limit- was easily suppressed.

==========

The Celestial Transcendent appeared in the airspace of the Eighth Bastion City half an hour after the incident.

It couldn’t be helped, as most of his avatars were now stuck near the battlefield purely to remain as a show of force so that the other side wouldn’t send a terrifying force to quickly eliminate their army. But from his dark expression and his bloodied face, it seemed like the situation there was no longer the same.

"Malzor Hexadra betrayed us. He joined the Hydra Galaxy as he rushed the Galaxy Wormhole after trying to kidnap Madam Wesley and taking a significant number of his clan members away, while a part of the realm’s army and the opposing army covered for him. Kill all the Hexadra Clan’s members unless they surrender and confess to all the crimes they are aware of."

His words were filled with restrained fury, but the meaning was clear.

The purge of the hydras had finally begun.

After the Celestial Transcendent heard about what happened to Venerable Knight Lussandra, he didn’t hold her accountable for losing the Divine Emperor of Death or forcing Malzor Hexadra to choose the Hydra Galaxy over them. Instead, he asked her.

"So what was he doing here?"

"From my quick investigation just now, siphoning pure heaven and earth energy from the Ethereal Lumina Tree."

"To strengthen himself as we expected?"

Venerable Knight Lussandra shook her head as she thought back to her initial reasoning of why he was here.

"There was a note in the City Lord’s chamber. It said it would be unwise to chase him before the Desolate Era recedes."

"...?"

This was quite the oxymoron since sealing him would also disperse the Desolate Era according to their theories and their gut feeling as Heaven’s Warriors. The heavens were literally demanding it from them in enigmatic whispers. However, was it as they initially guessed, according to the letter written by a person whom they assumed to be a Heaven’s Warrior who lived under the shadow of the Davis Family for some time?

The Divine Emperor of Death was actually here to overturn the Desolate Era at the cost of getting sealed by them?

The Celestial Transcendent and Venerable Knight Lussandra could only stare at each other with strange looks on their faces.

"Let’s see what he’s trying to do. One of my avatars is already there at the tribulation site, the place where the Desolate Era began. If he really appeared there, then he wouldn’t be able to escape me."

The Celestial Transcendent said lightly, pausing before asking Venerable Knight Lussandra.

"Was he really that damned City Lord whom I met in the manor?"

"Yes." Venerable Knight Lussandra said without hesitation.

"..."

The Celestial Transcendent raised his hands and wiped his face as he looked at the skies and recalled how the City Lord was able to recognize him behind a damn bed curtain and acted scared, unable to believe he was played by a junior.

"This brat is really just good at using people’s quirks and weaknesses!" He cursed at the skies, wondering when he would get back his son-in-law before saying hatefully, "That woman called Jillian is also complicit in helping him escape."

Framing him as an adulterer? What gall! In essence, he realized it was Jillian Hayden who played him and not the Divine Emperor of Death!

"It’s possible her Will has been corrupted." Venerable Knight Lussandra supported Jillian Hayden.

"Nonsense." The Celestial Transcended waved his hand dismissively, "He’s a womanizer. Didn’t you say he saved her from the City Lord after he possessed him through strange means that directly interfered with our perception? To me, she sounded aware that he was the Divine Emperor of Death now that I think back on it. She naturally fell for his charms and chose him over us. There is no sign of her remaining here, so it’s obvious she had left with him. The next time you see her, you should punish her accordingly."

"I won’t." Venerable Knight Lussandra’s four verdant wings manifested as she rose to the skies and left for the tribulation site.

She then paused mid-air and turned to look at him, "Even if she made the decision to help him, I’m not going to blame her since it would mean she felt more safe with him than us."

"You-"

The Celestial Transcendent pointed at her before lowering his hand as he saw her take off.

He then sighed lightly as he looked towards the battlefield.

Right now, every force in the Twelve Bastion Cities was personally conscripted by him and the warriors since the Hexadra Clan fell apart half an hour ago. With that, their army also collapsed by nearly half before it was personally propped up by him.

The Abyssal Radiance Empire stepped up, and so did many other major powers.

Still, he felt the need for a new Realm Master to take charge and hold the fort, but with Realm Master Malzor Hexadra remaining at the other side of the Galaxy Wormhole, the Realm Core was still connected with him!

The previous Realm Masters were long gone, either dead, gone with Malzor Hexadra, or simply somewhere in the Greater Realm. They couldn’t be brought here quickly to continue with their rule. With the Hexadra Clan having betrayed, they wouldn’t dare remain in the Greater Realm either, quickly fleeing towards the battlefield.

On the other hand, he couldn’t rely on an Autarch to bind the Realm Core and become a Primarch. They wouldn’t be as powerful as a Hierarch and be able to defend the realm as he required right now.

Hence, he needed someone who could quickly become a Supreme Primarch or an Alpha Exalt after binding the Upper Realm Core at the very least. With enough energy from the Realm Core and treasures, they could be a force to be reckoned with, even if they could not reach the power level of a Hierarch.

Furthermore, with the Covenant exchanged with the hydra race of the human galaxy, this realm undoubtedly belonged to the hydras. There were other clans apart from the Hexadra Clan. But he didn’t trust the Six-Headed Hydras anymore.

He had planned to bring the Three-Headed Hydra’s Trissadra Clan up as he eventually cut down the Hexadra Clan, but now that it has quickly come to this, where could he find such a person who fit the requirements?

He could only break the rule for emergency purposes, but still, where could he find someone who could become a Supreme Primarch?

Within these twelve Bastion Cities, he didn’t believe that there wasn’t a single suitable candidate.
