Chapter 432: Chapter 432: Thunderous Action
When Lin Yun returned to his residence, he saw Luo Feng sitting in the master’s seat as he passed through the main hall. He stepped forward and bowed. Upon seeing Lin Yun, Luo Feng’s face was calm and expressionless.
"Boy, have you really decided to fight Chang Jing to the death?" he asked Lin Yun calmly.
Hearing this, Lin Yun replied, "Master, now that I am your disciple, things like this are bound to happen more often. Rather than waiting to be attacked, it’s better to settle things with a life-and-death battle."
After hearing Lin Yun’s words, Luo Feng was stunned for a few seconds before suddenly bursting into laughter. "HAHA, good! In that case, go and do what you must. However, I will not interfere in this matter. The only thing I can do is to ensure the Six Supreme Elders also stay out of it. Whether you succeed or fail is entirely up to you."
"I understand," he said softly.
After a brief chat, Lin Yun left the main hall and returned to his own courtyard. He had only three days to not only find evidence proving his innocence but also evidence to incriminate Chang Jing.
The moment he stepped through the gate into his courtyard, Little Ape leaped onto his shoulder, saying with some annoyance, "Big Brother, where did you go? I’m hungry."
Hearing this, Lin Yun smiled and tossed Little Ape a Low Grade Spirit Essence Pill.
Little Ape swallowed the Low Grade Spirit Essence Pill in one gulp and smiled in satisfaction. Lin Yun watched the little guy for a moment, lost in thought, before giving him a few instructions.
After hearing Lin Yun’s instructions, Little Ape patted its chest, promising there would be no problem. Then, with a final reminder from Lin Yun, it transformed into a streak of light and vanished from the courtyard.
Lin Yun had sent Little Ape to closely monitor Chang Jing’s every move. Being only the size of a fist, Little Ape was the perfect choice for eavesdropping and surveillance.
After Little Ape left, one of He Yuntian’s Direct Disciples soon arrived at Lin Yun’s courtyard.
Because He Yuntian had submitted to Lin Yun, before he left, he had specifically ordered his men to obey Lin Yun’s commands.
"Senior Brother Lin, the matter you asked me to handle is done. Should I bring the person here, or...?" the Direct Disciple asked, bowing before Lin Yun.
Hearing this, Lin Yun pondered for a moment before saying softly, "That won’t be necessary. Take them to the Inner Sect Disciple area, find someone trustworthy, and keep them under heavy guard. I’ll head over this afternoon."
Hearing Lin Yun’s command, the man respectfully agreed and left the courtyard.
Only a few hours had passed, but Lin Yun had already struck like lightning. Meanwhile, when Chang Jing heard his subordinate’s report, he furiously crushed the teacup in his hand.
"What did you say? She’s gone? Didn’t I tell you to guard her carefully?" Chang Jing demanded.
"Senior Brother Chang, we followed your orders and kept the woman under heavy guard in my courtyard. But just before dawn, five or six men in black rushed in and... and kidnapped her..." the man stammered.
"Useless! A bunch of worthless idiots! You couldn’t even watch one person, you actually let her get kidnapped. You’re all a bunch of pigs..." Chang Jing roared in anger.
The kidnapped woman was the very same Inner Sect girl Chang Jing had arranged to frame Lin Yun. Chang Jing didn’t even need to think to know that Lin Yun was behind it.
’Lin Yun only just entered Flawless Palace. When did he manage to get so many followers?’ His anger subsided, and Chang Jing calmed down.
As of yet, no one in Flawless Palace knew that the He Family and He Yuntian had already submitted to Lin Yun.
’Looks like I underestimated Lin Yun,’ he muttered to himself. ’Now that she’s been taken, I can’t let Lin Yun’s next move succeed.’
Looking at the Direct Disciple below him, Chang Jing said icily, "Leave for Wind City at once. This time, no matter what, do not let that woman’s family fall into Lin Yun’s hands."
"Yes, Senior Brother Chang," the man replied respectfully.
"If you mess this up again, you know the consequences," Chang Jing added with a pointed reminder.
It had to be said, Chang Jing was no fool. He quickly realized that Lin Yun would go after the girl’s family. To find evidence, Lin Yun’s natural breakthrough point was the girl herself.
Desperate times called for desperate measures. But did Lin Yun really only want to use the woman’s family to threaten her into confessing?
Chang Jing dispatched over a dozen Direct Disciples to Wind City. Little did he know, as the saying goes, to be a step behind is to be always behind. The moment Chang Jing’s men left Flawless Palace, news reached Lin Yun.
"Senior Brother Lin, it’s confirmed. Chang Jing’s subordinates have left Flawless Palace and are heading for Wind City," one of He Yuntian’s men reported.
Hearing this, Lin Yun waved his hand to dismiss him. After the man withdrew, Lin Yun picked up the Sound Transmission Stone on the table and said softly, "They’re on their way. The rest is up to you."
The person Lin Yun was contacting was, of course, Li Tian in Wind City. A moment later, Li Tian’s voice came through the Sound Transmission Stone, speaking just two simple words: "Got it."
Lin Yun had arranged this with Li Tian long before taking any action. With He Yuntian’s men at his disposal, finding out about the girl’s family had not been difficult.
That was why Lin Yun had the girl kidnapped. His real goal was not to threaten her with her family, but to lure Chang Jing’s men to Wind City.
In Wind City, with the He Family’s help, Lin Yun’s influence was incomparably greater than Chang Jing’s.
’Chang Jing, if that woman finds out her entire family of several dozen people died at your hands, I wonder if she’ll still cover for you to the bitter end,’ Lin Yun thought with a faint smile.
That’s right. Lin Yun’s goal was to frame Chang Jing. He would use the lives of the girl’s family—all several dozen of them—to turn her and Chang Jing into mortal enemies.
The method was perhaps a bit too bloody, but it would be far more effective than mere threats.
It wasn’t that Lin Yun was heartless. He had already gambled his Cultivation on this; he couldn’t afford the slightest mistake. Even if it meant being ruthless and cruel, Lin Yun had to eliminate Chang Jing. Besides, the girl had brought all of this upon herself.
’Don’t blame me. If not for your actions, your family wouldn’t have to be destroyed,’ he thought, sighing faintly. In truth, Lin Yun took no pleasure in doing such things.
After all, the girl’s family was innocent.
But there was no other choice. If he wanted to win, this was the only path he could take.
Sitting alone in the courtyard, Lin Yun watched the rising sun. He figured He Yuntian’s men had likely already begun to move.
’Cannon fodder should know they’re cannon fodder,’ Lin Yun muttered softly, his gaze fixed on the horizon. As he spoke, the teacup in his hand slowly crumbled into dust.
