Chapter 404: Chapter 404: Why Are We Always the Unlucky Ones
Lin Yun smiled at the Monk and Daoist, whose faces were grim. They had already suffered greatly at his hands, especially in the Mysterious Forest, where the two of them had barely escaped with their lives.
"I don’t drink," they replied in unison.
Hearing their reply, Lin Yun just smiled and drained his cup alone. He then paid them no more mind. Running into the Monk and Daoist here was a surprise, but that was all.
Things were peaceful for a while after that. Lin Yun paid the Monk and Daoist no mind, completely ignoring their murderous glares.
Staring at Lin Yun, the Monk and Daoist seethed with hatred. However, they didn’t dare make a move. After all, their masters were sitting right there. Besides, it was Mo Qingshui’s birthday, and even they knew to observe basic etiquette.
Unable to stomach their indignation, yet still unable to act, they continued to glare at Lin Yun. Suddenly, a glint flashed in the Daoist’s eyes, and he whispered something into the Monk’s ear.
Hearing the Daoist’s words, the Monk broke into a cold smirk. It looked like the two of them had cooked up another dirty trick.
The two plotted their scheme. Even if they couldn’t give Lin Yun a savage beating, they would at least humiliate him.
Little did they know, however, that Little Ape had heard their every word. As soon as he sat down, Lin Yun had sent Little Ape to hide under the Monk and Daoist’s table. The creature had overheard everything the Daoist said, not missing a single word.
It quietly returned to Lin Yun’s robes. Being only the size of a fist, Little Ape was difficult to notice if one wasn’t looking for it.
"Big Brother, those two are plotting to burn off your clothes. They want to humiliate you by leaving you butt-naked," Little Ape whispered.
At these words, Lin Yun suddenly turned to look at the Monk and Daoist. Seeing his gaze upon them, the smirking pair instantly averted their eyes.
A faint smile touched Lin Yun’s lips. He hadn’t expected those two to come up with such a malicious trick.
For a Martial Artist at the Primordial Ocean Realm, whose Elemental Power could leave the body, tearing a person’s clothes was a simple matter. But who would have thought that any Primordial Ocean Realm Martial Artist would ever stoop to such a thing?
’A leopard never changes its spots,’ he thought. Now that he knew their plan, Lin Yun certainly wouldn’t let them succeed. In fact, he was planning to teach them a lesson they would never forget.
’You want to humiliate me by stripping me naked? Then I’ll strip you naked first.’
The banquet proceeded in a lively atmosphere. It was clear the Mo Family had prepared meticulously; even the celebratory songs and dances were exquisitely arranged.
In the center of the Main Hall, eight beautiful young women danced gracefully. Their enchanting figures and elegant movements were truly a feast for the eyes.
As the banquet reached its climax, Mo Qingshui, the guest of honor, naturally had to propose a toast. Having been silent until now, she rose to her feet, raised her cup, and addressed the crowd.
"Everyone, thank you all for coming. I’d like to propose a toast."
As Mo Qingshui spoke, the Semi-Evil Daoist Master and Abbot Lian Fo were the first to rise. With these two on their feet, the others naturally dared not remain seated.
Lin Yun had been watching the Monk and Daoist’s expressions. The moment he saw a cold glint flash in their eyes, he knew they were about to make their move. He was, however, one step ahead of them.
Without any visible movement from Lin Yun, the clothes on the Monk and Daoist suddenly shredded to pieces. In an instant, two pale, naked bodies were exposed to the crowd.
The Monk and Daoist had been just about to act. Who would have thought that Lin Yun would be perfectly fine, while they themselves were the ones utterly humiliated?
The culprit, of course, was Little Ape, hidden under the table. Just as the Monk and Daoist were preparing to strike, Little Ape had beaten them to it, shredding their clothes.
At this sudden turn of events, Mo Qingliu’s expression turned cold. Without a second thought, she shrieked, "Ah! You filthy perverts...!"
Their faces flushed crimson, the Monk and Daoist were at a loss for how to explain themselves. Their masters, however, remained relatively calm and barked at them in cold voices.
"Hmph! Get changed at once! What a disgraceful sight you two are!"
Hearing their masters’ orders, the Monk and Daoist scrambled out of the Main Hall, hands clamped tightly over their privates.
As they passed Lin Yun, they both shot him a look. When they saw him sipping his wine with a light chuckle, their eyes looked ready to spit fire.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out this was Lin Yun’s doing. Who else under the heavens would pull such a despicable stunt? Of course, the Monk and Daoist failed to consider that they had come up with the idea first; Lin Yun was merely giving them a taste of their own medicine.
Stark naked, the Monk and Daoist were too embarrassed to linger, and they certainly didn’t want to blow up at Lin Yun right now. Getting dressed came first.
After the two had scrambled out of the Main Hall, the Semi-Evil Daoist Master and Abbot Lian Fo shot Lin Yun a brief glance before turning to the crowd with a smile. "Our apologies, everyone. Our disciples can be quite undisciplined. Especially to you, Miss Qingshui, we hope you won’t take offense."
With two great masters having spoken, what could Mo Qingshui say? She could only nod in acknowledgment.
Though no one said a word, everyone knew what had really happened. Song Tianyang even let out an audible chuckle, only to be silenced by a sharp glare from Wan Tai.
"A couple of major perverts, and they’re supposed to be holy men! A true Monk Jiu Rou and a Seductive Daoist," the fearless Mo Qingliu, having recovered from her initial shock, muttered under her breath.
As a Little Princess who had never left Jincheng and was doted on by the Mo Family, when had Mo Qingliu ever seen a naked man before?
Mo Qingliu could only conclude that those two were utter deviants to pull such a shameless stunt at her own sister’s birthday banquet.
With her Cultivation only at the Qi Sea Realm, Mo Qingliu didn’t consider any other possibilities. She simply thought the Monk and the Daoist were absolutely disgusting.
In high spirits, Lin Yun ate his food, drank his wine, and watched the graceful dancers, feeling utterly content.
After that incident, the atmosphere had clearly grown a bit awkward. This was hardly surprising. Imagine you’re at a dinner party and someone suddenly strips naked. What kind of face would you make?
The fact that they could continue drinking without their expressions changing was a testament to how composed these old masters were.
"Brother Lin Yun, come, let me toast you." Recalling the Monk and Daoist’s disgraceful display, Song Tianyang was still in shock, even though he didn’t know them well.
In response, Lin Yun silently raised his cup and drank with Song Tianyang.
As the banquet continued, the Monk and Daoist, changing their clothes in a guest room, couldn’t for the life of them understand why they were always the unlucky ones whenever they ran into Lin Yun.
