Lin Yun stayed in the Punishment Hall that night. Early the next morning, elders from the Punishment Hall would take him to the Demon Beast Ridge.
He was assigned a simple room. From the looks on everyone else’s faces, Lin Yun could guess that the Demon Beast Ridge was no ordinary place.
However, not knowing the specific dangers, Lin Yun didn’t dwell on it. ’I’ll find out when I get there,’ he thought.

"Martial Uncle, when the kid is inside, you don’t need to pay him any mind. I want to properly temper this boy."
"You... as the esteemed Palace Master of the Flawless Palace, you’re never serious. Just look at the Flawless Palace—we still haven’t produced a single Demon Fiend," the Supreme Elder replied with a nod.
Although it sounded like the Supreme Elder was reprimanding Luo Feng, his gaze was more like that of an elder teaching a junior.
Luo Feng chatted idly with the Supreme Elder for a while longer, but was eventually kicked out for spouting too much flagrant nonsense.
Having been kicked out, Luo Feng glanced toward the Punishment Hall with a punchable grin. "Lin Yun, you’d better not die in the Demon Beast Ridge. This is all for your own good, haha."
Laughing heartily, Luo Feng left the Supreme Elder’s residence.
「The night passed quickly.」
Early the next morning, Lin Yun was led to the entrance of the Demon Beast Ridge by two elders from the Punishment Hall—the same two from the day before.
However, now that they stood at the entrance to the Demon Beast Ridge, both of their expressions were grim.
The entire entrance to the Demon Beast Ridge was covered by an Array. Without the Supreme Elder’s permission, no one could enter, nor could any of the Demon Beasts inside cross the Array to get out.
"You two may go back. Leave the boy here." An aged voice echoed from the sky—it was the Supreme Elder.
Upon hearing this, the two Punishment Hall elders bowed respectfully toward the empty sky. Without another word to Lin Yun, they turned and left.
They didn’t look back once on their way, a clear sign of how much they dreaded this place.
Once the two elders were gone, the Supreme Elder’s voice sounded again. "I will open the Array in a moment. You are to enter the Demon Beast Ridge. In one year, I will open it again to let you out. However, that Demon Beast with you cannot enter."
Hearing this, Lin Yun immediately spoke up. "Senior, Little Ape and I have been inseparable since he was small. I must take him into the Demon Beast Ridge with me."
Lin Yun declared loudly. After a moment’s pause, the Supreme Elder replied, "Very well. But let me remind you, the Demon Beasts in the Ridge are no different from those in the outside world—they are just as ferocious. Be careful in there. If you stick to the outer regions, you shouldn’t have too much trouble."
"Thank you for the warning, Senior," Lin Yun replied respectfully.
"Alright, go on in." As the Supreme Elder spoke, the Array at the entrance to the Demon Beast Ridge opened, revealing a portal taller than a man before Lin Yun.
Without much hesitation, Lin Yun took Little Ape and stepped directly through the Array. After they entered the Demon Beast Ridge, the Array closed once more.
Watching Lin Yun’s figure disappear, back in his courtyard, the Supreme Elder looked at Luo Feng and sighed, "I hope that boy doesn’t die in the Demon Beast Ridge."
"Don’t worry, Martial Uncle. That kid Lin Yun is tough. Besides, I’m doing this to train him," Luo Feng replied with a smile.
"Scram! You little rascal, you’ve never been serious. If not for us old-timers being so old, do you think we would have let you take the position of Palace Master? Now get out of here and manage the Flawless Palace properly, or I swear I’ll beat you to death!" the Supreme Elder chided bad-temperedly.
Having been scolded by the Supreme Elder, Luo Feng simply smiled and left the courtyard. As he walked away, he mused to himself, ’Haha, I can’t wait to see how Lin Yun performs in the Demon Beast Ridge. But... he won’t actually die in there, will he? ...Nah, probably not. The outer regions only have Tier Three Demon Beasts. He should be able to handle that.’
Completely unaware of Luo Feng’s thoughts, Lin Yun entered the Demon Beast Ridge. The place looked no different from an ordinary mountain range. It was so vast that one could never imagine it was artificially constructed by the Flawless Palace at great expense.
From the Demon Beast Ridge alone, one could see just how powerful the Flawless Palace’s foundation was. Not even ten Yanhuang Royal Families combined could have built a Demon Beast Ridge of this scale.
