Chapter 319: Chapter 319: The Tiger Unleashes Its Power

Lin Yun walked toward Young Master Kong and his eight men, one step at a time. He’d finally figured it out. ’To hell with tempering! I traveled all this way to the Flawless Palace, so why should I have to take this kind of abuse?’

’Forget a bunch of ugly misfits like you—not even a Direct Disciple from Celestial Eagle Valley would dare speak to me that way.’

’It just proves the old saying: people prey on the kind, just as they ride the tamest horse. If that’s how it is, then why the hell should I hold back?’

As Lin Yun approached, his entire aura changed. If the Lin Yun from before had been reserved and ordinary, the Lin Yun now was like a blade drawn from its sheath, sharp and exposed.

"Young Master Kong... I’m scared," one of the men beside him whispered. "This guy’s aura is terrifying."

"Cut the crap. Don’t psych yourself out," Young Master Kong retorted, feigning composure. "No matter how strong he is, can he be stronger than the nine of us combined? You think he can kill all nine of us by himself?"

Lin Yun calmly walked up to Young Master Kong and his men, stopping just three meters away. He took one more step, and in that instant, a terrifying aura erupted from him, soaring to the heavens.

This aura was even more terrifying than that of the two Three-Stars Stewards. In the entire servant disciple area, there were only two Three-Stars Stewards, both of whom were at the Ninth Layer of the Qi Sea Realm.

In that moment, the nine of them felt as if they had been plunged into Hell, and Lin Yun was the Death God holding their lives in his hands.

"Th-this... How can you be so strong? Impossible! How can a servant disciple be this strong?" Completely dumbfounded, Young Master Kong began to spout nonsense.

Although they still couldn’t discern Lin Yun’s cultivation level, anyone who wasn’t a complete idiot could tell that he was strong—strong enough to easily slaughter them.

"I wasn’t going to stoop to your level, and I didn’t want to get involved in your business," Lin Yun said calmly. "But as the saying goes, you were shown the path to heaven but chose to barge into a gateless hell. Since you’re asking to die, don’t blame me for obliging."

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, the nine of them were so frightened they fell to their knees. They were bullies, true enough, but they only dared to pick on those weaker than themselves. The moment they met someone stronger, they immediately cowered.

"Servant disciples may be at the bottom of the Flawless Palace, but they are the ones who support the daily lives of everyone here. As fellow servant disciples, not only do you lack any sense of camaraderie, you actively bully and murder newcomers. You are utterly unworthy of being in the Flawless Palace." As Lin Yun spoke, his voice grew increasingly cold.

Once he had made up his mind, it was in Lin Yun’s nature to act without restraint. Besides, it wasn’t as if he hadn’t caused his fair share of trouble on his journey. And when it came to getting rid of vermin for the good of the people, Lin Yun was more than happy to oblige.

A faint killing intent began to emanate from him. For someone like Lin Yun, who had waded through mountains of corpses and seas of blood, even the faintest trace of killing intent was more than Young Master Kong and his cronies could withstand.

A foul stench wafted up from between Young Master Kong’s legs. The bastard had actually pissed his pants.

How many new servant disciples had Young Master Kong and his cronies killed under Fatty Kong’s protection? These people were textbook scum: they bullied the weak and feared the strong, content to be kings in their own little monkey den.

They never imagined Lin Yun could be so powerful. Young Master Kong and the others stared at him, dumbfounded, forgetting for a moment to even beg for mercy. Who would have thought that such a monster would be a servant disciple? ’This is some kind of sick joke!’

But as the nine of them watched in stunned silence, Lin Yun gave a simple wave of his hand. The disciple at the Ninth Layer of the Opening Realm who was closest to him was instantly decapitated.

He had killed a man with a simple wave of his hand, yet his expression remained unchanged. Killing trash like Young Master Kong and his cronies caused not the slightest ripple in his Mental Realm. In fact, their deaths would be a blessing to the other servant disciples.

"You... You dare kill a fellow disciple?" After a long, stunned silence, Young Master Kong finally stammered out the words. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Killing a fellow disciple?" Lin Yun sneered. "Compared to you, I’m just an amateur, wouldn’t you say?"

Initially, no one had thought Lin Yun would actually dare to kill. The Flawless Palace might not care much for its servant disciples, but they were still disciples of the Palace nonetheless.

An incident like this could be blown up into a major affair or swept under the rug; it all depended on how the Flawless Palace’s higher-ups decided to handle it.

Having killed one man with ease, Lin Yun felt no pressure at all facing the remaining eight. After several days of silently enduring their abuse, he seemed to have realized something important.

’Why is this world so obsessed with tempering? And what is this "tempering the Mental Realm" really about?’

’The Mental Realm... to put it bluntly, it’s just about being true to yourself. It means holding fast to your own convictions and, no matter the difficulty, seeing things through. It means finishing the path you’ve chosen, even if you have to crawl. That is the best way to temper the Mental Realm.’

A self-deprecating smile touched Lin Yun’s lips as he muttered to himself, ’What an idiot. To think I’m only just now figuring out such a simple truth. Why should I make myself suffer? I’ve never been one to take abuse, so why did I force myself for the sake of some baseless ideal?’

With this realization, Lin Yun’s Mental Realm seemed to ascend to a new level. A refreshing, indescribable sense of enlightenment washed over him.

His moment of self-deprecation passed. Lin Yun’s gaze, now filled with resolve, fell upon the men. "You are a cancer on the Flawless Palace. Today, I will excise you and finally bring justice to the disciples who died at your hands."

The calmer Lin Yun appeared, the more terrified Young Master Kong and his men became. All Young Master Kong could see in Lin Yun’s eyes was a placid stillness, a stillness that promised he absolutely would dare to kill them.

He waved his arm, and his Elemental Power coalesced into a razor-sharp blade. In less than ten breaths, only Young Master Kong was left standing. Lin Yun had killed all the others.

"You can’t kill me! My brother is Fatty Kong, a One-Star Steward! If you kill me, he’ll never let you get away with it!" Having witnessed Lin Yun slaughter eight men with his own eyes, Young Master Kong was completely broken. He stumbled backward, his words a desperate threat.

But Lin Yun paid Young Master Kong’s threats no mind. ’Fatty Kong? A One-Star Steward? To be frank, if Fatty Kong were here right now, I’d kill him too.’

’You all think servant disciples aren’t valued by the Flawless Palace, that it doesn’t matter if they die? I’m a genius with the talent of a Demon Fiend. Forget a One-Star Steward—I could probably kill an Inner Sect Disciple or two and face no consequences.’

However, Lin Yun was no homicidal maniac. He only killed those who deserved it, and Young Master Kong and his men most certainly deserved it.

With nowhere left to retreat, Young Master Kong watched Lin Yun close in step by step. The threats died on his lips, and he instantly dropped to his knees again, crying and begging for mercy. "I’m sorry! I was wrong! Please, spare me! I’ll turn over a new leaf, I swear! I’ll never bully another disciple again!"

Young Master Kong was truly terrified. This time, he had really kicked an iron plate.

Watching the groveling Young Master Kong, Lin Yun said nothing, his eyes simply observing him with unnerving calm. But just then, an furious shout echoed from the distance.

"Lin Yun, you have some nerve! How dare you publicly murder a fellow disciple!"
