Chapter 1730: Following Golden Elf Prince!
"Calm down?!" Max raged.
The energy in his body erupted even more violently, and black dragon scales began appearing across his skin once again without his conscious command. They spread over his arms, neck, and face, gleaming with a cold chaotic light as his uncontrolled emotional state dragged his bloodline power to the surface.
His pupils sharpened, his fingers tightened, and the air around him trembled under the pressure rolling out from his body.
"If you do not tell me how you know that name," Max said, his voice low and dangerous, "I will make sure you are eliminated right here and now."
The golden-haired prince stared at him without fear, but before he could answer, the energy Max released reached a dangerous peak.
Then, without warning, a beam of white light descended from above and fell directly upon Max.
The light wrapped around his body in an instant.
Max frowned.
The raging energy inside him suddenly disappeared as if it had been sealed by an invisible hand, and the black dragon scales that had begun spreading across his skin stopped growing. His grip on the golden-haired prince weakened slightly, and for a brief moment, Max felt as if all the strength inside his body had been locked away.
He could still stand. He could still move. But the terrifying power that had been surging through him a moment ago was no longer responding to his will.
"What is happening?" Max asked, his voice still filled with anger.
Nick, who had been standing nearby with a solemn expression, immediately stepped forward and said, "Max, it is the rules of Starfall Haven."
Max glanced toward him.
Nick’s expression was serious as he continued, "You cannot use strength or release too much energy inside Starfall Haven. Remember, this is a peaceful city and a neutral zone where killing is prohibited outside the proper battle areas."
Max stared at him for a moment.
Then he slowly took a deep breath.
The rage in his eyes did not disappear, but he forced it down with sheer will. He understood the situation now. Starfall Haven had its own rules, and those rules were not something even he could casually ignore. If he lost control here, the city itself would suppress him before he could act.
"I see," Max said coldly.
He turned back toward the golden-haired prince, released his collar, and stepped back half a pace. The white light around his body gradually faded once his energy settled, but the killing intent in his eyes remained sharp enough to make the nearby elves tense.
Max looked at the golden-haired prince again and asked, each word controlled but heavy with threat, "How do you know that name?"
The golden-haired prince adjusted his collar calmly, then looked at Max with a gaze that had become far more serious than before.
"Come with me," he said.
After saying that, he turned and began walking toward a secluded area of the Combat Hall, one far away from the demons, humans, and most of the elven participants. The silver-haired elven woman followed beside him, but she kept glancing back at Max, clearly aware that one wrong word could make this situation explode again.
Max followed without hesitation.
He did not care whether this was a trap.
He did not care whether the golden-haired prince had some hidden motive.
The moment his mother’s name had been spoken, everything else became secondary. Munro, Karo, the Killing Points, and even the attention of the Combat Hall all faded behind the single question burning inside him.
How did this elf know Caelira?
"Max!" Nick called from behind.
Max stopped for a moment and looked back.
Nick’s face was filled with worry, and it was clear he wanted to say something more, but he also understood that Max would not turn away from this matter now.
Max looked at him and said solemnly, "After this, I will take care of Munro and Karo forever. Take care out there."
Nick stared at him for a moment, then nodded.
"Be careful," he said.
Max gave a faint nod, then turned around and continued following the golden-haired prince.
Soon, his figure disappeared from Nick’s vision, swallowed by the quieter side of the Combat Hall where fewer participants dared to linger.
The golden-haired elven prince led Max away from the crowded part of the Combat Hall, and the silver-haired elven woman followed quietly at his side, her expression calm on the surface but her eyes still carrying a trace of caution whenever she glanced toward Max.
The three of them moved past several groups of participants, crossed a wide corridor lined with pale stone pillars, and finally entered a secluded area hidden behind a curved wall of smooth white crystal.
This place was much quieter than the main hall. The roars, arguments, and shocked whispers from the Combat Hall became distant and muffled, as if they had been sealed behind layers of invisible barriers, and only a faint silver light flowed across the walls, giving the area a cold and private atmosphere.
Max stopped the moment they reached the center of that secluded space.
He simply stood there and looked at the golden-haired prince with eyes so cold that even the silver-haired elven woman felt her body tense slightly.
Although Starfall Haven’s rules had suppressed his outburst earlier, the rage inside him had not disappeared. It had only been forced under control, like a volcano sealed beneath a layer of ice.
His mother’s name still echoed in his mind, and every time he thought of an elf casually speaking that name, his blood threatened to surge again.
The golden-haired prince turned around and faced him.
For a moment, none of them spoke.
The silence stretched between them like a drawn sword.
Then Max finally opened his mouth.
"How do you know that name?"
His voice was calm now, but that calmness was even more dangerous than his earlier rage.
The golden-haired elven prince looked at Max for a long moment, and although his expression remained calm, there was a heaviness in his eyes that had not been there before, as if even he understood that the words he was about to speak would not be easy for Max to hear.
"I have a guess that you hate the elf race," the golden-haired prince said calmly. "And from what I know, there is indeed a valid reason behind it. I will not deny that what they did was disgustingly wrong, but I need you to trust me here, at least long enough to hear everything."
