Chapter 978: Chapter 476: The Girls’ (?) First Encounter

Not long ago, the Elda Territory welcomed a group of new residents.

They were around two hundred Beastmen, mostly consisting of the elderly, frail, sick, and pregnant women and children, with only a few adults fit for combat, and even they were mostly injured.

Fortunately, the territory has never required these residents to provide combat abilities. The great Lord has always personally protected them.

After adapting for a short while, the newly arrived Beast Ear Clan sighed with relief.

Thank goodness, they were not discriminated against by the original inhabitants.

The frequently wandering family members knew that the most important aspect of integrating into a new homeland is not to be hated by the original residents.

As long as they aren’t disliked, even if the other party is extremely indifferent, it is acceptable.

Upon arriving at this new home dubbed "Elda" by that esteemed individual, they felt an experience vastly different from past encounters.

Unlike before, the gaze from the Alien Race bore no aversion; instead, curiosity could be sensed.

What are they curious about?

This discovery made the members of the Beast Ear Clan slightly uneasy.

If not for the pure nature of those inquisitive glances, and the faint trace of friendliness they could feel, they might have worried for quite a while.

Ultimately, Kaimora, an Ancestor Spirit perceptive to emotions, vaguely understood their thoughts—they seemed curious about the identity of these people.

Kaimora: Eh?

After repeatedly confirming, Kaimora communicated the discovery to all clan members.

Yes, these people did not concern themselves with their ugliness or the curses they carried...

They were discussing and contemplating what role the Beast Ear Clan was to play within this territory.

Furthermore, Kaimora noticed that the residents of the territory were not humans or some monolithic race as initially speculated.

This was actually a hybrid living space mixed with various unusual races!

Though small in number, different racial creatures managed to coexist peacefully.

"Such a place exists in the world..." the Ancestor Spirit silently marveled.

Kaimora was not some unsophisticated bumpkin; the thousand-year wanderings of the Beast Ear Clan had shown many landscapes.

Even amid the extensive memories, never had such a venue as Elda been encountered.

While the Beastmen tried coexisting with other races, betrayal and expulsion would always ensue from others.

Even those claiming to be multi-racial communities harbored undercurrents beneath their seemingly peaceful facade.

Blood feuds, greed, interests...various malice lurked in the hidden depths.

Malice may remain silent under strong rules but will never disappear into thin air.

However, Elda is different; Kaimora could sense the true harmony prevailing here between diverse races.

The existence of such a place in the world was beyond imagination.

An equal, harmonious, and tranquil haven.

This realization eased the tense spirits of Kaimora and the Beast Ear Clan.

Choosing to leave their past behind and come to a new home, they were filled with gratitude and awe for Herbert, yet anxious and hesitant about the future.

But now, much of that anxiety and indecisiveness has dissipated.

This place feels like the long-awaited home from their dreams.

Though seemingly simple and small, it is enough for them.

Their demands have always been modest—a corner to shelter them suffices.

Simplicity isn’t an issue; they can build together and make the home even better!

They are quite content now!

As the Beast Ear Clan relaxed somewhat, Kaimora breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that the earlier decisive choice was absolutely correct.

"It’s fortunate there were no tests conducted, and no interventions made..."

If not for bowing immediately, they might not have even qualified to be here.

Kaimora’s thinking wasn’t wrong.

If, at that time, Kaimora was unaware and ignorantly tested Herbert, he would’ve certainly stood aside witnessing those people’s demise.

After all, they were responsibilities foisted onto Herbert by the Natural Pantheon, not actively sought; even if they died, it had little to do with him.

Kathy and Kaimora’s outstanding performance caused Herbert to change his mind, deciding to let them become his followers.

——And incidentally eke out compensation from the Natural Pantheon.

It feels as if, ever since arriving at Elda, the Beast Ear Clan could completely relax.

Yet, Kaimora remained vigilant.

He knew just being here wasn’t enough, merely a beginning.

The Beast Ear Clan’s tasks hadn’t yet ended.

Right now, they must forge good relationships with the other original residents!

Everything the Beast Ear Clan possesses is a gift from that esteemed individual; whether they continue to have such a future depends wholly upon his will.

And for the one in power, that esteemed individual surely wishes his servants to get along well.

Unfortunately, being an Ancestor Spirit inclined towards the soul, Kaimora can’t easily manifest nor can everyone perceive him, making it difficult for him to showcase his goodwill towards others.
