Chapter 1818: Chapter 1448: Moved (Part 2)
Xiao Wen let out a wry smile and replied.
"So that’s how it is."
Su Mo more or less understood what was going on.
"Right, bro, how come you’re here too? I thought you were on the front line."
Chen Shan asked Su Mo curiously.
"Didn’t I just finish fighting on the front line and pull back for rest and refit. By the way, how many troops did you bring this time, and did you bring any ammo resupplies and such?"
Su Mo suddenly thought of something and hurriedly asked.
"Our Legion is one of the Federation’s main Legions, plus you took care of us before so we developed pretty well. We’ve got two Level-5 Battleships, fifteen Level-4 ships, for a total of about five hundred thousand people. Oh, and we also brought a batch of ammo supplies, quite a lot actually. Why, you need supplies and manpower?"
Xiao Wen immediately asked.
"I was actually forced to pull back. I’m out of ammo now, and getting resupplied is a huge pain."
Su Mo said with a headache.
"We’ve got about one million rounds of spare ammo in reserve. They’re not any particularly good missiles, the power’s not that great either. If you need them, I can give them all to you."
Xiao Wen said to Su Mo without the slightest hesitation.
"Uh..."
For a moment Su Mo didn’t know what to say.
"Bro, since when did you get so wishy-washy, being polite with us? If you need it, just take it straight, no need to hold back."
Chen Shan said boldly to Su Mo.
"Ahem, that’s not what I meant. I mean, can we squeeze out a bit more? My ship’s standard loadout alone needs sixty million rounds. If I want to cram in more, that’s possible too. This one and a half million rounds is a bit on the low side."
There was no way Su Mo was going to be polite with Xiao Wen and the others.
After hearing that, Xiao Wen and Chen Shan were both dumbfounded. They stared at Su Mo in disbelief and said,
"That much? This one and a half million rounds is a standard load for a whole Legion, and that even includes extras."
"Can’t be helped."
Su Mo answered awkwardly.
"How about this then, let’s ask Mo Baoke and see if he’s got any extra."
Xiao Wen immediately said to Su Mo.
"Yo, that guy’s here too? That doesn’t sound right. That coward’s so timid, and if I remember correctly, didn’t he go become a Councilman? He doesn’t really need to be on the battlefield at all!"
Su Mo felt this didn’t quite fit Mo Baoke’s personality.
"That guy didn’t come here to support anyone. He’s just using the support banner as cover to come here and flip supplies for a fortune. Stingy as hell. We asked him for some medical supplies and stuff, he hemmed and hawed and only gave us a tiny bit. Otherwise we wouldn’t have to come here to buy."
Chen Shan complained irritably.
"Come on, let’s go find him."
Su Mo said, half amused, half helpless.
"Right over there."
Chen Shan immediately led the way for Su Mo.
They walked forward all the way, and after about twenty or thirty minutes they heard a familiar hawking voice.
"Come take a look, all kinds of supply goods, great quality, low prices..."
Following the voice, Su Mo looked over and saw from afar that Mo Baoke was running a stall with a bunch of subordinates. People wanting to buy were packed all around. Business looked very good.
Mo Baoke’s face was practically blooming with joy; looked like he’d made quite a haul.
"Mo Baoke."
Su Mo walked up to the side and called out.
"Who? Who’s calling me—Boss!"
Mo Baoke was wondering who was calling him; the voice sounded so familiar. He turned his head and saw it was Su Mo, and shouted excitedly.
"Pack it up."
Su Mo tossed out the order clean and simple.
Mo Baoke froze for a second, but still followed immediately. He shouted to all the people who were about to buy,
"Sorry, we’re closing, we’re closing."
Su Mo was quite satisfied with how fast Mo Baoke reacted.
Very soon, Mo Baoke trotted over to Su Mo’s side and said with a grin, "Boss, what are you doing here?"
"Pulled back for rest and refit. I heard you brought a lot of supplies."
Su Mo looked at Mo Baoke with interest.
"There’s not that much, just a little."
Mo Baoke replied with some embarrassment.
Off to the side, Chen Shan said irritably, "I’d say it’s not ’a little,’ you just can’t bear to admit how much you’ve really got."
"Come on~ Brother Chen Shan, you’ve really got me wrong. When you asked me for Potion before, I really gave you everything. I did bring quite a lot of Potion when I came, but this stuff is hot-selling here. Before you came asking, I’d already sold almost all of it. What I gave you was honestly one of the last bits of my stash, I only kept a tiny bit for myself."
Mo Baoke hurried to explain himself in front of Su Mo.
"That’s your idea of ’a tiny bit’? It’s not like you’re going to the battlefield."
The more Chen Shan listened, the more pissed he got.
"Alright, both of you, knock it off. Mo Baoke, what you did is really a bit out of line."
Su Mo knew Mo Baoke’s nature better than anyone. There was no way he hadn’t kept a lot stashed, just unwilling to hand it over.
"Boss, I was wrong, okay? I’ll hand it over right now."
Mo Baoke immediately backed down.
"Mm, forget that for now. How much ammo supply do you still have on hand, and how many people did you bring?"
Su Mo cut straight to the point.
"I’ve got about three million rounds of various types of ammo left on hand. In total I brought two Level-5 Battleships, ten Level-4 Battleships, and thirty Level-4 Transportation Ships."
"You brought that many Transportation Ships?"
"Well, the plan was to make a fortune here, then haul some goods back to flip."
Mo Baoke explained awkwardly.
After listening, Su Mo couldn’t even muster any temper. He pondered a bit, then said to Mo Baoke,
"Give me those three million rounds of ammo."
"No problem, Boss."
Mo Baoke agreed with extreme enthusiasm, without the slightest hesitation.
After securing the ammo, Su Mo thought for a while, then asked Mo Baoke and Xiao Wen,
"Do you currently have any mandatory missions on you?"
"No!"
Mo Baoke and Xiao Wen answered in unison.
