Chapter 2423: Chapter 2438: Who Are You? (2)
Even though this idea seemed incredibly absurd to him.
"When do you plan to let me go?" Xia Tian raised his head and asked again.
"I’ll let you go once you’ve made up for my losses."
"What if I can never make up for them?"
"Then you’ll stay here forever, no need to think about leaving."
Xia Tian: "..."
After they had finished eating, when Xia Tian returned to his room, he noticed there were bloodstains on his clothes. He frowned; he hadn’t been injured.
He suddenly remembered that he had just sat on Beiming Han’s lap, and his expression seemed a bit off...
Could it be...
Beiming Han was injured?
A sharp tremor went through Xia Tian’s heart, and he instinctively wanted to check how bad his injury was.
But on second thought, what did his injury have to do with him?
Beiming Han was such a bad person; he had abandoned Mommy, him, and Baobei back then. Now that he was injured, it served him right.
Moreover, he came to Ming City to avenge Mommy, didn’t he? How could he start worrying about him? No, he absolutely couldn’t soften his heart towards this villain.
Xia Tian reassured himself and changed into a set of new clothes. Looking at the two bloodstained garments, he felt inexplicably agitated... and heartache.
Xia Tian thought he must be crazy. This bastard hurt Mommy so much; why should he feel sorry for him!
...
Beiming Han was in the study handling official business when Xia Tian walked in. He looked up at the little guy...
"Are you hurt?" A trace of unease flickered in Xia Tian’s eyes.
"It’s just a small injury." Beiming Han noted his awkward expression; obviously, he wanted to express concern but was embarrassed, which warmed his heart greatly.
"Don’t get the wrong idea! I don’t care if you live or die; your injury has nothing to do with me... I just... your wound split open because of me, and it bled again, so I came to see if you were dead." Xia Tian stood up, intending to leave.
Beiming Han got up and walked over to him. Xia Tian saw he was still wearing the bloodstained clothes, meaning he hadn’t tended to his bleeding at all. Did he really care so little about his own health?
Suddlenly, Xia Tian felt upset and glared at him before sitting back down, letting out a cold snort as he turned his head to the side.
"Do you hate me? Why?" Beiming Han stared at him and asked, coughing twice.
"Many people hate you, what’s one more?" Xia Tian’s heart tightened at the sound of his coughing.
"You’re right, there are many who hate me, many who resent me, and many who wish me dead... But I don’t care what those people think, I care about what you think." Beiming Han took hold of Xia Tian’s small hand and asked again, "Why do you hate me?"
"Isn’t it because you’ve done too many bad things? I just can’t stand you, I want to act on behalf of justice." Xia Tian turned to glare at him, but seeing the blood on his abdomen made him sorrowful, and his little mouth pouted tightly.
"Is that so... Well... if I do more good things in the future, could you try to like me?" Beiming Han didn’t want Xia Tian to hate him at all.
Looking at his sincere yet worried eyes, Xia Tian felt even worse. Suddenly, he jumped off the sofa and ran out of the study.
Beiming Han looked at the suddenly empty sofa, and his heart felt as if it had been hollowed out all at once.
Standing there in a daze for a long time, Beiming Han finally returned to his desk to continue handling business.
