Lawrence Winters murmured, "No need, you go sleep. I’ll nap a bit longer and then get up to buy breakfast."

She liked the fish porridge and pan-fried buns from the breakfast shop outside the neighborhood.

Ever since she showcased her martial arts in front of that breakfast shop and saved two little kids, she had become an honorary customer there.

No matter how late it was, as long as she wanted to eat, the small shop owner would agree to provide her with fish porridge and pan-fried buns.

Lawrence was quite pleased, though it was just a private joy; she wouldn’t actually call in the dead of night to ask them to make her fish porridge and pan-fried buns.

She still went to queue every morning.

The only perk was that when the staff saw her arrive, they would proactively bring out her order, sparing her the wait.

Lawrence Winters immediately perked up, smiling her approval.

"Kenneth, you’re here. How come you worked overtime again yesterday? I thought you’d be sleeping at home alone." Lawrence took a food box from him and tiptoed to peck his cheek.

Kenneth also pecked her cheek in return, smiling, "There was a bit of a work issue, but it’s fine, it’s being resolved now."

Lawrence nodded, "Nothing can stump you; just don’t overexert yourself."

Kenneth chuckled, "You really have confidence in me."

"Of course I have confidence in you," Lawrence said naturally, "In my heart, you’ve always been the best."

"Then I’ll take the blessings of Great Heavenly Master Lawrence, hoping I can turn calamity into a blessing this time," Kenneth smirked, walking with her into the ward.

Lawrence was curious, "Huh? I thought you didn’t believe in this stuff. Why do you want me to bless you now?"

Kenneth said wistfully, "Desperate times call for desperate measures, things change."

He truly felt unsure, and the words just slipped out earlier.

But they didn’t continue this topic after entering the ward.

They had an early breakfast with Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters.

Lawrence felt a bit unsettled and after breakfast, went home with Kenneth.

As soon as they entered the apartment building elevator, Lawrence poked Kenneth’s chest with a smile, "What’s up? What’s bothering you? Tell me?"

Kenneth originally didn’t want to talk about it, but recalling that it somewhat involved Lawrence as well, not merely an outsider, he mentioned the issue of his AI special effects production program being accused of infringement.

Lawrence quickly said, "They must be scammers trying to extort you. Don’t worry, I’ll cast a spell and curse their lives into disarray!"

Kenneth was amused by her antics, finding it peculiar, "Chief Analyst Guo analyzed a long section of content, finally concluding they’re trying to extort me."

"Why do you jump straight to them extorting me? What’s your basis?"
