Chapter 179: Battle of beasts 5
Ray played with his prey; the scent of its fear was a pleasure for his soul. He didn’t know it was because of the devil’s blood in her veins or his own nature, but watching the fear in the general’s eyes excited him.
At that point, it could do nothing against Ray; his clones were enough to deal with him. One of them cut through his arm with the other, pretending to attack, all while Ray watched from back.
"Just finish it already..." His whole body was covered in wounds and blood.
Ray saw a burning ball in the sky; its time had run out too. "I want you to know, your ideology will die with you. The military that you spent your whole life to make is already destroyed; any human that goes after the same methods like you will fall by my blade."
His clones took the general’s hands, with blood chains keeping him paralyzed. Ray took his time to walk toward him.
Fear and hunger are excited.
The dragon inside you is excited.
Two messages popped up in his system at the same time: "Getting another attack from the dragon will be nice!"
Blood rose from the ground to make a stair for him; stepping on three stairs, his hand pulled his head back. His teeth bit off the immortal’s neck and dragged out veins and blood. Blood sprayed on his face and clothes.
Testing the bitter taste of blood on his tongue, Ray licked his lips and bit again and again. Only his spine kept the head connected to his body.
Stepping back, with a swift swing of the crimson star, the head fell on the ground, rolling a few times. With a scare in his eyes, the general was dead.
Ray had succeeded.
Dismissing his domain, massages popped in his system one after another.
Dragon tail unlocked.
Legendary achievement unlocked.
Fear and hunger are looking forward to your adventure.
The reward for the achievement was ten million coins, which Ray didn’t care about at all. The best thing was the new dragon attack; testing it, it had way more speed than the claw, and it could cut with precision.
He was happy that he didn’t receive anything from fear and hunger; more of that thing inside of his body could mean nothing but trouble.
"I actually fucking did it." For once, Ray’s killing urge was satisfied; he wanted to celebrate his new achievement, but still a few small things needed to be done until his last fight came.
The item that started it all took Ray’s attention. The glove was still in the general’s hand; it had no effect on Ray anyway, and the nearest target for it was the king of silence.
Ray picked it up; inside of it, too many magics were used at the same time that Ray couldn’t understand how it worked. "I can sell this for billions..."
Laughing at his greed, Ray destroyed the artifact in his palm; a weapon like that could have been used on him in the future. In a world where allies and enemies were ever-changing, trusting anyone was a mistake.
A motorcycle came on his way, with a woman with red and golden hair and a leather jacket. Ray raised an eyebrow toward the upcoming ally.
Yelena’s jaw dropped from the scenery in front of her; an immortal’s headless body was on the ground with his head underneath Ray’s legs.
"You actually did it..."
Ray kicked the head out of his way; almost no magic was left in his body, even moving was a hassle. "How did everything go?"
"The robe that you gave Jade can protect her just fine. Right now the military and the public are mostly ok with her taking over for the time being; she has a new title too."
To stop the chaos from spreading, Ray had to find an alternative instead of General Armstrong. To pay the debt in his mind, he had worked behind the scenes to find a proper defense and new powerful personal squad for Jade.
After making contact with Yelena and giving her a large sum of crystals, she had agreed to his plan. He had emphasized not telling Jade that he was the one behind all of this, so with that, things had progressed.
After his fight and the destruction of Brain, Jade and her personal guards had taken over the military headquarters and announced her as the temporary leader of the earth.
"What is her title?"
"Fallen queen." Yelena took out her helmet. "There is something else that I should tell you too; just don’t get angry."
"What?"
"She announced you as the worst criminal in human history and asked the immortals from Mars to kill you." With a weird look, she continued, "Those two that returned from Mars couldn’t believe their eyes, but they respected your request."
Ray’s expression didn’t change; he knew that Jade wouldn’t forgive him forever, even though his heart wanted to make up for her, his mind went against it.
"Tell her that I will be out of this earth very soon."
"Where?"
Ray said with an empty voice, "To the future, there is nothing left for me on earth to look for."
Marian and Alexandria hated him too because he made them go to Mars without their permission; both had blocked all of their connections with Ray.
With a dangerously low voice Ray said his last words to the woman: "If something happens for her, remember the same thing will happen to you."
"As you say." Yelena picked up a bottle of wine from her motorcycle’s side. "You are not what your parents wish you to be. They were good people."
"Good dead people."
Ray teleported to his cave to regain his magic; Cindi had a lot of things to do before they could meet.
"Once more alone," Ray sighed; at times he had counted the people around him as allies or friends. "No, I was always alone." With determination in his heart, Ray rested for the final fight to come.
