Chapter 141: Starblaize Squad

The last thing that Ray expected was to see two immortals in his room with full armor and angry faces like they were adventuring for a war.

Marian burst into his room, feeling the invaders in her defense. Seeing the two figures, she was even more surprised than Ray.

"Where should we sleep?" Scarlet asked like nothing had happened.

"I don’t have enough space, but can I ask what you two are doing here?" Ray raised an eyebrow at Aria; her punk eyes were sensing daggers to his way.

Scarlet sat on his bed. "There is a negotiation this weekend with immortals; those fuckers even made others to act."

"Don’t tell me other immortals want to deal with the military too." Marian clenched her fists.

"Simple, Starblaize Squad wants to enter the picture too; two people of their squad are on earth too."

Ray had old information about that squad; apparently, they were one of the first squads that went on Mars with no connection to Earth, unlike the Goddess squad. No one knows much about them.

"You told me there was no other customer for the formula!" Seeing the opportunity, Ray still wanted to get the most benefit out of the formula he had gotten for free.

Aria leaned against one of the walls; she completely ignored Ray and observed Marian. "They are our enemies; do that, and I will kill you myself."

"Aren’t you guys the strongest ones? You can kill them instead." Enjoying the annoyance on Aria’s face, he continued: "And why are they interested in earth now?"

Marian, trying to talk in a way that wouldn’t provoke the immortals, said, "The thing that you don’t know, Ray, is that the Starblaize squad is by far the strongest faction on Mars."

"The Red Queen herself is level 37." Scarlet moved to the stash of wines, picking the oldest one. She returned, "We don’t know why they want to interfere with earth too."

Ray’s thoughts wandered about the new information; that level was way behind anything that Aria was capable of handling, even that elves that Ray saw had to have a hard time facing against her. The biggest question in Ray’s mind was how she had leveled up to that extent.

On earth he would have worked with both sides and gotten the most benefit, yet if two factions of immortals were enemies, working with both would have been like walking on thin ice.

"In three days the negotiations will take place in a safe place; until then we didn’t trust anyone, so I suggested coming here."

Ray could see that Aria was not satisfied with the suggestion, yet it made sense. "Well, I have a shortage in space; tomorrow Jade, the one you fought, will come back too. I have two rooms so we should just split. "The negotiations will give us the artifact, or we will kill you all?"

"Mostly yes, but their artificial super brains are on their radar too."

"Ray and Jade and I will stay here; you can take the other room." Marian said after a few seconds of thinking.

"Oi, Marian, can you make a field for me like old times? This armor is so shit to wear.

With a glance to Ray, Marian signed that she would tell him everything later. "Yes, it might take a few hours. "Anything you need, Aria?"

"Just coffee and a few book suggestions." With a heavy sigh, she turned to Ray. "I want that weapon; name the price."

With a grin Ray responded, "Not for sale, but I might be able to craft something weaker than this in the sun, but at my own price."

"I want one too." Scarlet jumped between them.

"What is the price?"

"First, it won’t be a nova magic weapon, since it’s our sun; it will be a fusion magic weapon at best. Its strength will be around a level 10 blast." With a smile, he gave a price to make sure she would refuse: "1 million dark crystals."

"Deal."

"What?" both Ray and Scarlet said at the same time.

"Fereya told us to keep his prices low..." It took a second for Scarlet to understand what she had said.

"Idiot." Aria yelled at her, "You can’t break the deal either."

"We have the deal; it’s not like I didn’t know what you guys were doing; I would have done the same." Ray said with an indifferent tone. "My mind needs a lot of rest, though; I need a month or so."

"Come on, Aria, let me show you around." Marian dragged her with her, stopping her from getting in an argument with Ray.

"One last thing, Daughter of the Red Queen wanted to see you tomorrow; you will go as a member of the Goddess Squad, and I will accompany you." Aria said as she walked toward the door.

Ray had never heard about that person, yet he had made a name for himself; it made sense if they wanted to see him. "It’s ok, can I make a deal with them too?"

"Only if Fereya approves it. See you first thing in the morning."

After the two left, Ray watched Scarlet with her red armor on her bed, already going for the second bottle.

"Are you up for training? I saw your fight with that girl, not bad." Scarlet opened her eyes, controlling her magic to not crush Ray. She licked her lips. "If Marian field works, there might be another kind of training too."

"I wouldn’t say no, but there is something way more interesting we can do." Despite his lust for her, Ray wanted to use their short time together to the best he could.

"Is it boring?"

"Do you think crafting armor is boring?"

"Yes."

Ray’s smile grew wider. "What if it’s free mythical armor?" Her magic was one of the most unknown occurrences in nature; no one knew how exactly gravity worked at its core, but Ray had a few ideas about how he could craft an armor with gravity magic, and the things he needed for that were so cheap; however, the end product would have been way more valuable.

"Maybe."
