Chapter 250: Chapter 250: Descent Of Light (2)
While Adrian was having an existential crisis, things weren’t going so well in the outside world.
The werewolves Annie had sent to the elven kingdom came back but of the 12 who went, 8 never came back.
Those who came back had somber looks and wounds which were refusing to heal fast enough.
She looked at them with pity and guilt, had she not sent them..’ No, don’t beat yourself up over this, it was necessary.’ she convinced herself.
Although they lost people, they did brink back what she had sent them to retrieve. It was golden bowl.
This bowl was a divine artefact, the only weapons that can work against demons, they can even kill demons.
Divine or holy weapons were created by the angels as means to deal with demons, there were not many of them.
This bowl was the weapon of Charity, one of the seraphim and the exact opposite and arch enemy of greed.
Annie had a suspicion that since greed has been released, Charity might’ve descended from heaven as well.
’ If I’m right, then he’s bound to come look for his bowl, how do we deal with him then?’ Annie wondered.
She knew a bit about angels and what she was that they were not exactly that different from demons.
The seven seraphim were bound their virtues just as the sins were bound by their sins.
They took drew power from virtues and the more people commit the sin opposing their virtues, the more power they lose.
However unlike the sins, their virtues weren’t drawn only from others but themselves, as long as they maintain themselves, they can constantly grow stronger.
That meant chastity can never have sex, Annie shook her head. ’ That sounds like a nightmare.’
She placed the bowl in a safe, ’ Athi, are there any signs of tha sins or the virtues?’ the presence of the virtues was not a good thing.
They were just as dangerous and heartless as demons, they were even worse because they were hypocrite.
Of course, she’s only learnt of them from Meggie’s account and considering Meggie is considered the most dangerous and evil witch in history.
There’s a strong possibility all of her accounts are biased but Annie chose to believe them just to be safe.
If she’s wrong then so be it and nothing will happen but in case she’s right, it would be better to be prepared.
Annie went to the library, she took as many occult magic books and started reading, in that book she saw two spells which brought a smile to her face.

Somewhere in Alguard, a man dressed in plain clothing was cooking on a very large pot with a smile.
His dark skin and brown eyes seemed to draw those watching towards him. The smell of food reached every corner of the city.
The poor people on the street, the homeless and everybody who was struggling at the edge of the city walked towards him.
Bowls appeared next to the man and he started dishing for everybody, giving them a piece of bread and fish soup.
Thousands upon thousands of people came towards him yet no matter how many came he still has food.
The bread and fish didn’t seem to have an end, those who are his food got full and lively immediately after.
He poured wine for those who drink wine and sweet water for those who do not. All the time he was doing everything with a smile.
But his actions drew the attention of the leaders of this city. Soldiers surrounded the place soon after.
The people were chased away causing those who were yet to received any food to grumble under their breath.
The man looked at the soldiers with a kind smile, " Would you care for a bowl?" He asked with kindness in his voice.
The soldiers looked at him with confusion wondering if this man was crazy. Normally he should be cowering and begging for mercy by now.
The soldiers split and a man dressed in fancy clothing walked through. The rich looking man with grey skin looked at the dark skinned man with contempt.
" I don’t know who you are nor what your intentions are but right now you’re disturbing the order of the city.
You’ve stalled production and caused chaos. Because I’m a generous man, I’ll allow you to leave this city alive today so pack your things and go."
The kindness on the dark skinned man’s face disappeared. His eyes turned cold. " Generous?" He asked softly.
" You know nothing of generosity, you reek of disgusting Greed, you are a parasitic vermin that drains the lifeline of others.
Worthless worms like you do not need to exist in this wonderful world, all you do is corrupt it."
The rich man’s face twisted with rage, in his entire life nobody had ever spoken to him like this.
His aura blazed displaying his level 6 power, the people surrounding the place ran as far away as they could.
If a level 6 took action, they might instantly destroy half the city, they who were mostly level 1 would not even know how they died.
As for the rich man, he transformed into a four metres tall humanoid hippo, the ground cracked beneath his feet.
He looked so fat one might be think he would blow up any moment but that was merely an illusion.
In actuality, beneath the fat looking skin were densely packed muscles built on top of other muscles.
His body was breeming with overwhelming strength. The hippo race were known to be amongst the stronger shifters.
Especially considering they were herbiyera, the hippo moved attacked. Winds howled as his fist descended like a wall.
Instead of panicking, the dark skinned man simply raised his hand slowly and touched the massive fist.
The fist force disappeared like smoke in the wind, the howling winds calmed down instantly and blinding light shot out.
The entire city turned bright for a moment then returned to normal. When everything cleared.
The hippo man could be seen kneeling on the ground crying his eyes out. Nobody knew what happened to him.
But in the future, they would find he had turned extremely generous, giving most of his wealth to the poor.
After everything ended and soldiers dispersed, a veiled woman in white appeared behind the dark skinned man.
" How have you been brother?" The woman asked.
The man smiled softly, " I’ve been well sister, I could ask you the same." He answered and turned towards her.
" I hear from the grapevines you’ve been chasing after her, why do you bother yourself sister.
When it’s time to meet you shall meet, let fate take its course."
The woman shook her head, " I cannot leave her to fate, she’s caused my harm and will cause more if I don’t stop her. I’m here to ask brother, will you help me?"
The man smiled, " You already know the answer to that sister."
She looked down with sadness, " Goodbye brother." She disappeared leaving him standing there.
None of the people around them heard their conversation or even saw the veiled woman.
