Chapter 72 -072 Possessed by an Evil Spirit

“Be cautious.”

Henrik advised.

“Ordinary Evil Spirits are not so terrifying, the truly frightening one is the person controlling it from behind.”

“Hannam.”

“This guy’s combat strength is probably less than that of an ordinary person, but when it comes to manipulating people’s hearts and plotting schemes, he’s indeed terrifying.”

...

After the recent events, Roger dared not to be careless anymore. He stood back to back with Henrik, scanning their surroundings while checking each room one by one.

“Find Hannam, and once he’s dealt with, the Evil Spirit will no longer be a threat.”

Although the farm covered a large area, there were limited places to hide a person; they just had to search each one and they would surely find him.

The pair then suffered several attacks from the Evil Spirit, and despite their caution, they were still prone to Mental Disturbance, leading to several dangerous moments.

Though there was hardly any fighting, the strain of remaining alert for so long, especially for Henrik, was starting to take its toll on his psyche.

At this point, Roger couldn’t afford to let his guard down because the Evil Spirit would always seize the moment when he was distracted to strike.

Like this, they turned the farmhouse upside down but still couldn’t find a trace of Hannam.

“He’s not here, let’s go!”

Sensing their move towards the doorway, the attacks from the Evil Spirit became more frequent. Henrik was unable to catch a glimpse of its form, which put him at a disadvantage.

“We can’t keep on like this, we’ll be worn down before long. If we let our guard down, it will take its chance, and then the danger will be real.”

Henrik’s face grew pale.

“Find a way to make it manifest, use the dust I gave you!”

Roger didn’t say a word; he had been waiting for an opportunity, but the attacks from the Evil Spirit, controlled by someone from behind, were fleeting, leaving no chance for him to act.

Fortunately, the dagger in Roger’s hand could still inflict some damage on the Evil Spirit, making it somewhat wary.

If they stood still and gave the Evil Spirit enough time, it could potentially break through their mental defenses and cause a real disturbance.

“Ha!”

Just then, Henrik suddenly shouted, and Roger was instantly alert. Henrik threw an object that landed in the room.

“Now!”

“Zzzt!”

A twisted black shadow suddenly appeared mid-air. During the room search, Henrik had not been idle; he had quietly placed arrangements in every corner of the room, and now he activated the last part of it.

A temporary Barrier immediately formed, useless against ordinary people, but capable of confining the Evil Spirit to a certain area for a short time,

and forcing it to reveal itself at the moment the Barrier was established.

Of course, only Spirit Mediums and those with special abilities could see this manifestation.

Roger, highly focused, caught sight of the Evil Spirit the moment it appeared and threw the dust in his hand!

Dust filled the air, enveloping the Evil Spirit.

The next moment, the Evil Spirit disappeared into the air once again.

“Good, now it can’t escape.”

Henrik’s eyes had adapted to the dimness of the place, and the dust-covered, manifesting Evil Spirit emitted a special glow that made it easier for Henrik to spot.

Roger noticed Henrik had loaded several special bullets into his gun.

“Leave this to me, you go find Hannam, he must not be allowed to escape!”

Roger nodded, gripped his dagger tightly and quickly left the room.

It was easier to suffer Mental Disturbances with two people together; now that there was only one, Henrik was confident – it would take at most three shots to eliminate the Evil Spirit.

Rushing outside, Roger surveyed the surroundings and soon noticed a large barn not far away.

He didn’t take the main entrance but after a quick sprint, he leapt up to the window above.

This was the opportunity Henrik had created for him.

If the Evil Spirit and Hannam were together, even if Henrik and Roger really found Hannam, the presence of the Evil Spirit’s Mental Disturbance would make the situation very passive.

However, if Henrik briefly trapped the Evil Spirit somewhere, then Roger dealing with Hannam alone would be much easier.

The barn was pitch black, but this didn’t affect Roger at all, his gaze moved swiftly, and he quickly spotted something unusual in the corner.

Hannam was hiding behind a pillar, carefully aiming his gun at Roger in the darkness.

Roger remained silent, his body sideways, always keeping his eyes on Hannam.

But at that moment, Hannam seemed to think that a single shot to finish Roger wasn’t satisfying enough, so he quietly stepped out of the corner in the darkness.

“Does this guy really think I can’t see him?”

“Or is he deliberately trying to lull me into complacency?”

A chill went through Roger’s heart, he turned around without a sound, his dagger held out in front of him, but his feet kicked out with force!

“Bang!”

A pitchfork soared through the darkness, heading straight for Hannam’s chest!

“Boom!”

In the haste, Hannam pulled the trigger, but then a scream followed; the pitchfork Roger had kicked flew into his shoulder, causing pain that made him drop the gun to the ground.

Seeing that his opponent was disarmed, Roger no longer hesitated, he sprang forward like a hunting cheetah, pouncing swiftly!

The sharp dagger, perfectly concealed in the darkness, was like a venomous snake, slashing towards Hannam’s throat!

“Ah!”

In the critical moment of life and death, Hannam let out a fierce roar.

Just as Roger pounced in front of him, an aberrant infant with three deformed heads emerged from behind Hannam’s collar!

Roger was startled.

“What’s going on?”

“This guy controls two Evil Spirits!”

A silent howl rang out, Roger’s mind was immediately disturbed, but at this point, he naturally wouldn’t back down, he steeled his heart and his dagger slashed down with inertia!

“Possession!”

Seeing Mental Disturbance was ineffective, Hannam let out a ghastly cry, and almost in an instant, the aberrant infant opened its gaping mouth and swallowed Hannam’s head!

Bang!

Before the dagger could Pierce Hannam’s throat, a tremendous force hit, and Roger’s body was thrown into the air; he twisted in the air with the strength of his waist, and landed agilely on the ground.

“Ah… Ah!”

Hannam, not far away, roared like a wild beast, his exposed muscles bulging, veins on his face swollen, eyes bloodshot with endless resentment and malice.

“Damn it, damn it!”

“Possessing at this time is too early!”

Hannam glared at Roger with venom.

“It’s all because of you, why didn’t you just die quietly and let my precious consume you.”

“Just a little more evolution, and when we fuse together, I could have ascended to Transcendence directly!”

“You ruined everything!”

Grabbing the pitchfork stuck in his shoulder, Hannam’s muscles swelled, and he gripped the pitchfork in his hand.

“I’m going to nail you to the ground here!”
