Chapter 1375: Chapter 33: A Hint of Sweetness (3)
It narrated in a calm yet deeply sorrowful language:
"The roots of Mother were stolen by a giant dragon; losing the Weaver and betrayed by her brothers, she could not see that all this was actually a reincarnation."
"Thousands of years ago, our Majesty was beguiled by a Transferee; thousands of years later, our Mother is plotted against by a Transferee."
"They come from a place beyond the World, they are the same Humans, using the same script, and they look similar."
"One ignited the Authority of Death, the other became a malignant tumor in Life."
"Why write poetry?"
"Because our Mother died of the malignant tumor of Chaos, and the tumor recites chaotic verses."
"He said: Where do you want to go, mountain climber? He doesn’t want to climb to the summit!"
"He just wants to return to the Mountain Foot, to awaken from the endless nightmare, is there no other way but Death?"
"We don’t know the answer, we only feel the same confusion and anger."
"Why take our Mother from us? Why let us fall into the same nightmare, opening the cycle of suffering?"
"We don’t know the answer."
...
...
"Splash!"
Beneath the night sky, Renie was the first to leap out of the azure pool, followed closely by Fisher.
This trip hadn’t actually lasted long, and they quickly returned to the surface. Clues related to Renie, or rather to Gui, were scarce—only the phrase "No effort is in vain," the rest were historical records that Renie had seen before, and which Fisher simply kept in mind.
What "No effort is in vain" refers to, Fisher is still unsure, but subconsciously, he feels it is related to the "sacrifice" Helair mentioned.
This could also likely explain if what Helair said about Gui is true?
Upon returning to the surface, Fisher didn’t feel tired at all, yet Renie, having flown from the Dragon Court and dived into the water, seemed a bit weary, gasping slightly as she looked at Fisher and asked,
"Where’s the Little Guy, he didn’t come down with you?"
"Emhardt? He went for a walk nearby, he didn’t want to dive."
"I see..."
Fisher glanced at her heaving chest and couldn’t help but ask,
"Tired?"
"A bit. This body is merely a manifestation of my Authority turned physical, but it has a low Rank to limit its impact on reality, like an ordinary Witch..."
As she spoke, she suddenly looked at Fisher with pitiful eyes, alarmed,
"Oh no, could it be that the treacherous Fisher who already reached Mythical Rank knows this and plans to do something to his defenseless sister? So scared, so scared, what should I do? Help! Help!"
Her dramatic cries drifted some distance through the silent sea, yet no one replied, leaving Fisher with a face full of black lines wanting to discipline this teasing Renie.
Yet by then, she would surely panic and flee.
"I thought it was related to your Hart Bird; I didn’t see them when you returned..."
Renie was slightly taken aback, then smiled and said,
"I returned in a rush this time, besides, Hart Bird is just my disguise. It doesn’t matter if they exist or not. I won’t bother bringing so many larks back anymore... stealthily, so when you do bad things I won’t catch you, how about that?"
"What bad things can I do?"
"Hehe, what about the Dragon Queen of the Dragon Court, what is she doing now?"
"...She is working."
Speaking of this, Fisher suddenly realized that while Rafael was busy handling affairs of the Dragon Court, he first secretly met Moli, then met Helair while dealing with several Demon Servants, and now sees Renie under the moonlight.
Within a day, just such a brief working time, Fisher efficiently used every minute and second without waste, which is really...
"So your sister is working, won’t she be angry if you sneak out at night to play with your sister? Won’t she?"
"Renie..."
Fisher groaned in pain, wanting to stop the mischievous Renie, but she stuck out her tongue, a jealous expression on her face.
Admittedly, her jealousy is really inexplicable.
"Hm, even so, the one you saw first upon returning was her, though I’ve been waiting for you."
Fisher couldn’t help but chuckle, and asked,
"Didn’t you say not to mention other women’s names?"
Renie’s puffed cheeks paused slightly, then she flew to Fisher’s side, hammering his shoulder with her pink fists repeatedly saying,
"I’ll say I’ll say I’ll say, you’re not allowed, not allowed, not allowed, to say..."
"..."
Fisher hurriedly caught her pink fists, pulling her into his arms and they fell damp onto the ground beside the pool.
"Splash."
At this moment, their eyes met at a close distance, she blushed instantly, nearly holding her breath, but instead of virtualizing and hiding away, she just stared blankly, wide-eyed at Fisher before her.
He looked straight at the woman before him, and couldn’t help asking,
"Given this, how should I compensate you?"
"Compensate?"
Renie regained a bit of composure, her face red, eyes evasive as she thought for a while before muttering softly and vaguely,
"Then... then kiss me again..."
"What?"
Fisher didn’t expect such a request, willing to doubt he misheard, unable to believe the request could be so simple.
But Renie glared at him, then softly said,
"Not like before... a... a kiss on the lips... I want to try... you... you can’t move recklessly, not a bit."
"I can’t even move?"
"Yes!"
Fisher was stunned, but seeing Renie blushing, shy yet determined, he could only lie down, looking sacrificial,
"Alright, you do it."
"Then... should I come?"
Fisher stayed still, just watching her, though she wanted to move closer, she was startled back by his gaze.
She hurried reached out to close Fisher’s eyes, trembling as she spoke,
"Close your eyes first!"
"I have to close my eyes too?"
"Good, listen to your sister..."
Fisher obediently closed his eyes, but to say what followed, formerly watching her frantic actions was interesting, now suddenly closed in darkness, not knowing the specifics, quickened his heartbeat little by little, similarly experiencing Renie’s identical panic.
Renie kept her weight off him, as light as a feather. Even so, he sensed her faint fragrance continually nearing him.
Did the kiss happen?
Like a kiss...
Whether it happened or not?
When will it happen?
Like a kiss...
Just as he was stirred to immobility yet imaginatively mused by the tangible fragrance, next he felt cool, reserved, shy and dragonfly-like touches suddenly upon his lips.
In that moment, all sounds quieted.
Perhaps Renie also closed her eyes, like him. Perhaps she was frantic, clearly with a godly status, yet used such a common body to touch him.
This may not be physical touch, but a touch of the soul.
This was just a kiss, only a kiss...
He thought he shouldn’t have kissed her cheek just now, so he’d see her expression right now.
Fisher thought so, at this moment forgetting to open his eyes to see her, just savoring the brief kiss.
Moments later, she hurriedly left, leaving a lingering faint fragrance.
Fisher, like just waking from sleep, opened his hazy eyes blankly.
Before him, she, clad in a black gauze swimsuit, covered her face with both hands, only revealing panic-filled eyes touched with droplets of water and pink earlobes gazing at Fisher below her.
Stunned, he foolishly asked,
"How was it?"
Renie pressed her pale fingers tighter against her face, taking a deep breath, then blinked her almost wine-like eyes, tilting her head stupidly saying,
"A bit...sweet?"
