Chapter 1373: Chapter 33: A Hint of Sweetness

Fisher followed Renie forward and quickly arrived at a small island with a pool of deep blue water.

He and Emhardt in his arms looked downwards and suddenly realized that it was deep and vast below, revealing only a small entrance to a massive space beneath this pool.

Through this small ’eye,’ Fisher clearly saw that the depths beneath the water resembled a forest hidden by the Mother Goddess, quietly tucked away like Eden in this secluded place. The underwater forest teemed with life, filled with numerous wonders, including many trees Fisher had never seen, let alone recognized.

"It’s beautiful, isn’t it? Especially on a night like this."

"..."

Fisher nodded, turning to Renie to say something, but discovered that somehow her black dress had vanished, transforming into a pitch-black swimsuit. Apart from the top and bottom of the swimsuit, uncertain of the soft material, it was shrouded in black gauze. Like rolling clouds, under the sea breeze and the illumination of the blue glowing pool water, her already stunning figure appeared even more graceful.

The black gauze swimsuit concealed much, exuding a sense of restraint like Kado. The gauze was so hazy that the faint white skin beneath was tantalizingly deadly despite being barely visible.

The faint fragrance spread, and even someone like Fisher gaped momentarily, instinctively reaching out to cover the eyes of the bewildered Emhardt in his arms to monopolize this exquisite beauty, making Emhardt chatter in protest,

"Damn it, Fisher, I told you I didn’t want to come with you!! I’m just a holy object, without gender, do you think I’m as lustful as you?!"

"...Sorry, it’s just that she’s too beautiful, afraid it might scare you."

"Damn you!"

As Fisher said this, he was still staring at Renie, so his tone might have seemed a bit perfunctory.

Renie playfully scolded Fisher with a glance, then blushed slightly and looked at her attire, saying,

"Over the years, Nali has come up with some interesting clothes, I suppose this counts as one? Many noble ladies increasingly dislike the bulky swimwear of the past, so they pursue personalization in this aspect as well..."

"...Similar to the black silk stockings from before?"

"Oh, the gentleman on the run from Nali has quite a curious impression of Nali."

"Isn’t it because someone kept flaunting it in front of me earlier?"

"Turns out you remember, back then you were unmoved... How about this, call me sister and I’ll wear it for you~ later~"

"I remember everything about you."

Renie, who had just been mischievously teasing Fisher, suddenly turned slightly red again, her blush swiftly turning her wickedness to ashes. Helplessly, she angrily mimicked a hand gesture of a flaming gun aiming to shoot the bad man before her.

"So, are you wearing this swimsuit because we’re going down there? Below, I see many strange trees..."

"Yes, you should know that every elf’s name originally represents a type of tree?"

"I’m aware of that, so..."

Renie floated beside the pool, saying to Fisher with some nostalgia,

"In fact, in my predecessor’s involvement in[The Second Life War], also commonly known as[The Mythical War], there was a second war, which naturally implies there was a first, during the first mythical war, the World Tree died after losing the Destiny Loom. I don’t know the details, but it might be related to the Fermat Baha Dragon God or chaos... The faith-lost Tree Continent buried her remains in the center of the continent, establishing this place as a graveyard...

"With the subsequent events of the mythical war, more and more elves couldn’t reincarnate, dying completely. They were buried here by their compatriots. Until eventually, the entire race perished, except for those elf species without fellow elves to help them set up graves, all other elves along with their mothers were laid here. Perhaps it was the mercy of the two siblings of the World Tree, or maybe it was sheer luck, but this place retained its position as the ’graveyard’ of the Tree Continent."

Fisher looked at the world swallowed by the blue below, momentarily speechless, while Emhardt stared blankly, speaking with deadpan sarcasm,

"So are you two going to swim in someone else’s ancestral tomb now? I want to go too; I’ve long found these elves distasteful..."

Fisher glanced at him in his arms, instinctively saying,

"You haven’t even met them in person; weren’t you always staying with Gabriel Angel Leader?"

"...You have a point, I won’t go."

Renie covered her mouth and laughed lightly, explaining to Emhardt,

"Originally, the elves as a race didn’t have the concept of death; they would reincarnate after dying, so to them, a grave isn’t a taboo place. Whether it’s reincarnation or total death, they believe it’s an entrance to the next journey. They’ve left all their past here, and it survived the wars, so naturally they wouldn’t mind if others come to explore."

She then turned to Fisher and said,

"Let’s go down and take a look; if we discover something, it would be good, and if not... consider it a reward."
