Chapter 197: Chapter 198: Foreman Lynch, Are You All Right?

At nine in the morning, Thea Lynch collapsed onto the sofa, completely unwilling to move.

"Go upstairs and sleep." Sean Bell nudged her leg.

Thea didn’t move, and after a long while just said, "Don’t talk to me."

After playing six hours of mahjong all night, her back and waist were sore, even more exhausting than overtime.

When she got up from the mahjong table, her mind was hazy.

Sean stood by the sofa, staring at her for a moment, then said softly, "If you don’t get up, I’m going to carry you."

The next second, Thea stood up with her clothes in hand and silently walked towards the elevator.

Sean chuckled and followed her.

In the elevator, Thea leaned against one side to rest, and Sean glanced at her, "Just played a little mahjong, are you really that tired?"

"..." Thea was speechless, but too tired to even lift her eyelids, "I, a worker who works overtime every day, can’t compare with you, young master."

"Who’s never worked overtime? I just got off a flight and haven’t adjusted to the time difference."

"Yeah, time difference, that’s why you’re tired now."

Thea clicked her tongue, "Next time I’m not playing anymore. If I do it again, I’ll probably lose some years off my life."

"Then let me tell you something that will instantly wake you up."

"Hmm?"

"I now own ten percent of LX Capital’s shares."

"..." Thea lifted her eyes to look at him, "Gotten in exchange for ’selling information’?"

"You’re clever." Sean admitted.

Ten percent.

Thea couldn’t even imagine.

How much does Ian Preston have?

"You’re really not afraid to take it, huh?" Thea squinted at him, "Third Brother gave it to you so straightforwardly, aren’t you afraid of a trick?"

Sean shrugged nonchalantly, "Even if there is, that’s for later."

As they exited the elevator, Thea followed him, not quite understanding, "What’s your plan?"

Looking back, he said to her, "Do you think I’d tell you now?"

"..."

Right, things were becoming clearer between her and Ian Preston, Sean wouldn’t tell her.

Because if she knew, she’d definitely tell Ian.

Sean had no credibility with her, and likewise, she was the same with Sean now.

"Can’t you be a bit more restrained?"

"That’s a statement." Sean laughed, "I didn’t acquire it through illegal means. It’s just normal trading, Third Brother himself agreed verbally."

"Besides, you two aren’t even together yet, and you’re worried about the company for him."

Thea rolled her eyes at him, "Whatever."

She simply couldn’t communicate with this person.

Was she really speaking on behalf of Ian? She was trying to stay neutral, okay?

What kind of person is Ian? Could he so easily hand over his things? Just wait, Sean will surely have his skin peeled off by Ian.

Sean, this person, his intelligence fluctuates.

At times he’s smarter than anyone, and at times he seems like he has brain atrophy.

Still feeling smug about it.

She was exasperated.

Back in the guest room, Thea locked the door and fell asleep.

When she woke up, it was already afternoon.

Thea freshened up a bit and stumbled downstairs.

She didn’t have much energy, and by the time she reached the living room, Sean, Silas Cheney, and Julian Zimmerman were already awake, sitting together having tea.

"Aren’t you all tired?" Seeing the three of them full of energy, Thea was really beginning to doubt her own age.

Clearly, she was the youngest here.

"You’re not doing well." Silas Cheney scrutinized her, "Really that tired?"

Thea leaned on the sofa, still dozing off, "I feel like my brain is in outer space right now."

"Oh you poor thing."

Seeing her genuinely exhausted, Silas finally took it seriously, "You shouldn’t work overtime anymore, health is more important."

"How can you work so hard."

With the central heating too hot in the living room, Silas picked up a nearby magazine to fan her.

Thea joked with him, "If I had a family fortune of billions, I wouldn’t work so hard either."

"That’s easy." Silas laughed, "Marry Third Brother, half of his money will be yours, billions with ease. You can even dream bigger."

Upon hearing this, Thea turned her head to look at someone.

Silas raised an eyebrow, "I’m telling you, that’s the quickest way to retire."

"Without a doubt."

"You’d save decades of hard work instantly."

Thea: "Thank you very much."

With her indifferent expression, it sounded almost like cursing.

Silas laughed so hard his shoulders shook until Julian spoke up to remind him, "Alright, don’t joke about such things."

"Let’s go, time to head back. We received a call from the office just now."

"Thea, you can sleep on the way."

Thea made a sound of acknowledgment, stood up slowly, followed Julian down the stairs, and got into the car.

In the evening, several families gathered together, including Auntie Rong whom they hadn’t seen in a long time.

Over dinner, Auntie Rong looked at her several times, wanting to say something but hesitated.

Thea avoided eye contact and deliberately kept her distance.

Because she had to go on a team-building trip early the next morning, Thea didn’t stay at the estate that night, but Second Brother drove her back to the apartment.

——

The next day, Thea was the last one to get on the bus, "Sorry, I overslept."

She had started catching up on sleep as soon as she got home yesterday, and not even the alarm woke her up this morning. It was Foreman Chandler and Diana Dawson’s several calls that finally did.

Early in the morning, she hurriedly washed up without even putting on makeup, and just came with a bag.

"It’s alright." Foreman Chandler made room for her in the front row, "It’s our department’s team building, no outsiders, and you were only ten minutes late."

Diana Dawson handed her the prepared breakfast.

"Thanks." Thea yawned, not really feeling hungry, just holding it in her hand.

Foreman Chandler, seeing her so exhausted, asked what she did last night.

"I didn’t go anywhere last night; the night before was New Year’s Eve and I stayed up playing mahjong."

Maybe it was because her body was weaker than others’, Thea still hadn’t bounced back.

Foreman Chandler was a bit surprised too.

Thea leaned back on the seat, responding calmly, "Maybe it’s age catching up."

Foreman Chandler: "..."

"You’re just in your twenties and saying such things makes those of us in our thirties and forties feel so embarrassing. I still feel like I’m in the prime of my youth."

Foreman Chandler’s words had everyone on the bus laughing out loud.

Thea curled her lips slightly and said nothing more.

In fact, her body really couldn’t keep up with those her age; she still had small issues from a car accident years ago.

For example, her ankle would hurt on rainy days. Plus, her sleep had been poor for years, which had worn her down.

By the morning, the group arrived at their destination.

Nearby was a scenic area, and they wandered around it for a bit before returning to a farmhouse for lunch.

After eating, Thea felt really uncomfortable, "You guys go ahead and play, I’m going to rest in the room for a bit."

"Let me take you back then." Diana Dawson was not very reassured about her.

Thea waved her off. Just as she stood up, her body suddenly swayed.

The people at the table were all startled and scrambled to support her.

"Thea, Foreman Lynch, are you okay?"
