Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Who Does Your Brother Think He Is

Upon hearing this, Thea Lynch curled her lips into a smile and commented lightly, "You’re not old, yet you meddle quite a bit."

"Liking someone is my personal freedom. Similarly, disliking someone doesn’t require a reason."

"Dislike? Who do you dislike? My brother? But you haven’t even met him."

"No." Thea Lynch looked at her seriously, "Your brother won’t take the fall for this. The person I dislike is you."

"..." Sarah Sullivan let out a wail, "What you just said is really hurtful."

"If you weren’t just a young girl, I could say even harsher things. I’ve given you enough face already."

"Can’t find a reason why I dislike you?"

"Yeah."

Sarah Sullivan really didn’t know why.

"You’re quite self-satisfied."

Thea Lynch listed her reasons one by one, "Your appearances these days have caused various impacts on my life and work. Besides that, you followed and investigated me, which has threatened my privacy and personal safety."

"I could easily have the police take you away right now. The fact that I haven’t done so is out of respect for your family."

"Alright, alright." Sarah Sullivan was still a bit afraid of ending up in a police station, mainly because it’s embarrassing. "Give me a phone number, and I’ll leave."

She was still trying to negotiate with Thea Lynch.

Thea Lynch set down the wine glass in her hand and, seeing a persona approaching briskly from afar, softly whispered to Sarah Sullivan, "Fine. If he agrees, I have no problem."

"Who?"

Sarah Sullivan froze. The next second, she lifted her head in response to the footsteps, her gaze colliding with Ian Preston’s from across the room.

The man’s dark eyes fixed intently on her, with a look as if a storm was coming.

Sarah Sullivan grew apprehensive and wanted to sneak away, but it was too late.

Seeing Ian Preston return, Thea Lynch grabbed her bag and stood up, "Something came up at the office, I need to head back."

"No need for you to escort me, Three." It’s just a three-minute walk to Stratus from here.

She had specifically chosen a restaurant close to the office.

She slung her bag over her shoulder and gave Ian Preston a smile, "Thanks for your hard work."

Regarding what was meant by "thanks for your hard work," though Thea Lynch didn’t specify, Ian Preston understood.

Once she departed, Sarah Sullivan attempted to sneak away as well but was caught by Ian Preston.

"Miss Sullivan, shall we chat?"

The tone was by no means suggestive of actually negotiating.

Sarah Sullivan’s mouth twitched, "Maybe not, I didn’t come here to see Mr. Preston. I won’t interrupt your meal, I’ll just leave now..."

As soon as she said those words, she turned around ready to flee, but the next second, several men in black appeared out of nowhere, directly blocking her path.

"..."

Sarah Sullivan was forced to sit back down.

"What’s this?" One of the men in black placed a phone in front of her, containing a video.

"This is surveillance footage of you following Thea Lynch over the past couple of days." Ian Preston casually removed his jacket. "All evidence is here."

"What’s Mr. Preston’s intention here?"

Sarah Sullivan had a bad feeling.

"I’m giving you two options, Riverbend, or Coronet Police Department. Choose one, and I’ll have someone take Miss Sullivan there."

Sarah Sullivan: "..."

"I’ll, I’ll just go home." Sarah Sullivan cleared her throat, thinking it was better to explain, "I didn’t mean anything by it, just wanted to make friends with a beautiful sister—"

"Who doesn’t love beauty? You love her, so naturally, an average person like me can’t resist her charm either."

Ian Preston’s dark eyes deepened as he looked at her expressionlessly.

"OK, I’ll shut up." She realized the difference between Thea Lynch and Ian Preston.

Thea Lynch was sharp-tongued and made you shut up. Ian Preston, however, threatened with his gaze.

Their aura was too strong.

She had initially thought she wouldn’t fear Ian Preston, but as soon as she sat down, one look and she was intimidated.

It reminded her of that saying, "Crushing her is simpler than crushing an ant," which sounded exaggerated, but with Ian Preston, it wasn’t impossible.

Sarah Sullivan knew there was cooperation between the two families. Otherwise, Ian Preston wouldn’t "invite" her to go home; he probably would have sent her directly to the police station.

"Well, I have one last question."

"Which is, is your relationship with Thea Lynch real? Does my brother have any chance?"

Elsewhere, Sarah Sullivan’s brother sneezed.

Upon hearing this, Ian Preston suddenly laughed, "What’s your brother worth?"

Sarah Sullivan: Oh shoot.

——

Returning to the company, Thea Lynch saw Foreman Chandler and a few others playing cards.

"Hey, Foreman Lynch is here! Want to join us?"

"No." Thea Lynch shook her head, "You guys carry on."

"Hey, hold on, Foreman Lynch!" Foreman Chandler called her to a stop.

Foreman Chandler handed his cards to someone else, stood up, chased after Thea Lynch, and pulled her into the office.

"Look at this post." Foreman Chandler opened the forum and showed it to Thea Lynch, "Came across this while idly browsing during lunch. I frequently chat with other big shots on the forum. Just flipped through it out of boredom during lunch and found it."

"Originally wanted to call you about it but feared you might be dealing with family matters and disturb you. So I waited till you came over."

Thea Lynch leaned forward, getting close to the computer screen, and skimmed through the content swiftly.

"Seems like it was posted by Leo Shaw."

"See, over here it even reveals details about your high school days, so it’s likely him."

The post described Thea Lynch’s personal information quite thoroughly.

[Exposing someone, brothers must avoid Stratus Technologies at all costs! Especially the R&D department under Lynch, who works under this person is doomed! Infamous for creating trouble, arrogant, even likes to make things difficult for employees! Heard that she was isolated by classmates in school! What kind of good person could be collectively isolated!]

"Look, should we contact someone to handle it?" Foreman Chandler cautiously observed Thea Lynch’s expression.

She didn’t even furrow her brow and maintained a normal expression after reading.

"No need to worry for now. Just some venting."

Thea Lynch wasn’t bothered by it.

After being dismissed, Leo Shaw had privately sought her out but was unsuccessful. Heard he received the dismissal notice on the day of a class reunion, and someone, seemingly familiar with the industry, brought it up, causing Leo Shaw to be ridiculed and lose face.

So of course, Leo Shaw would be upset and needed to release his frustration. Unable to confront her, he resorted to stirring up things on the forum.

But just these few words were inconsequential to Thea Lynch.

Foreman Chandler pondered and said:

"I’ll have Old Gao keep an eye on it. If there are any further comments affecting the company negatively, we can contact him then."

"Alright." Thea Lynch had no objections.

Foreman Chandler shut down the computer and shifted the topic, "Foreman Lynch, your little assistant is quite capable."

"Is she?" Thea Lynch smiled.

Foreman Chandler nodded, whispering, "Leo was out this morning, so I asked her to join me in the lab. I thought she’d be like her personality, but she turned out quite reliable."

"Her academic performance is good; she’s won scholarships for three consecutive years." Thea Lynch had carefully reviewed the assistant’s resume, "If she wasn’t talented, why would I hire her?"

"Do I look like I run a charity?"

Foreman Chandler: "Looks like it."

Thea Lynch: "..."
