Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Do What You Want
Upon hearing this, Thea Lynch frowned.
"Me and Third Brother?"
"Yeah." Silas Cheney didn’t beat around the bush and said directly, "Second Brother is such a smart person, he’s bound to notice something."
"Isn’t that normal though?"
"..." Thea was silent for a few seconds, "There’s nothing going on between Third Brother and me, right?"
At least nothing for now.
Hearing this, Silas’s mouth twitched slightly. He simply turned his body to face her, looking as if he was about to give a good lecture, "Do you really have no idea?"
"I’m not even talking about other times, just in the past couple of days, how many little secret actions have you and Third Brother done?"
"Do you really think us brothers are blind and can’t see?"
"Not to mention anything else, I saw you two holding hands just now very clearly. I don’t know if Second Brother saw it."
Anyway, he saw it.
Thea: "..."
"To be honest, dear sister, are you having feelings for Third Brother?" Silas propped his cheek with one hand, looking gossip-driven and nosy.
"I feel ever since you and Third Brother moved in together, the little atmosphere between you has changed."
Silas couldn’t tell how Thea herself felt, anyway, for those like him watching from the sidelines, it seemed less awkward than before.
Especially recently, it seems not only not awkward but also a bit... ambiguous?
But this word, Silas only dared to think about it secretly and not say it outright.
Thea pulled at the corner of her mouth, "I don’t know what to say."
When she was asked similar questions before, she definitely evaded them. But today...
Hearing this, Silas felt a clue, instantly becoming excited. "It’s okay, just say anything, your brother will help analyze it!"
He is a curious person, loves gossip the most.
"How could I tell you?" Unfortunately, Thea had learned her lesson, turning her head to ignore him.
"..." Silas choked, "Before was before, now is now. Don’t you want to give your brother a chance to improve?"
Seeing she was unmoved, Silas had to say:
"Alright. Brother swears, how about it?!"
He just said it on a whim, knowing Thea’s personality, how could she really make him swear?
Who knew the next second, someone gently shifted their gaze, replying calmly: "Alright."
Silas’s mouth twitched.
For the sake of the gossip, Silas finally got serious, "Then, if I leak anything, let me grow old alone!"
Thea nodded, "Okay."
"Come on, come on." Silas put down his hand, "What exactly are you thinking?"
Thea’s thoughts were really hard to decipher.
He guessed and guessed, but couldn’t get it right.
He could only try asking Thea.
"Not much." Thea paused, thought for a moment, then said, "Just go with the flow."
"..." Silas: "I made a solemn vow, dear sister, and this is what I get to hear?"
Four words, just go with the flow, and she thought she could pass him off? How impossible?!
"You were the one who insisted on asking." Thea smiled, "I reminded you from the start."
If she didn’t tell, Silas could only ask himself, "So this ’just go with the flow,’ if someday you do feel a bit for Third Brother, you’d choose to accept, right?"
Thea looked into his eyes, nodding, then shook her head again.
"What do you mean?" Silas felt she was playing with him.
"I mean, I’d choose to accept, but probably not immediately."
"Why?"
"That, I can’t tell you." Thea: "You already know more than enough."
"Anything more, I’m afraid with your nature, you’d risk growing old alone, and spill it to others."
Silas: "..."
He couldn’t help but give a thumbs up, "You truly are a good sister."
"Give me a hint, won’t you? If you don’t, brother will have trouble sleeping tonight!" Silas started to pester.
Often when he did this, Thea couldn’t resist.
But this time, Thea ultimately didn’t speak up.
Seeing he couldn’t get an answer, Silas retreated.
He wasn’t entirely unproductive. At least he knew the first line of defense in Thea’s heart was breached.
Once that first line is breached, the remaining ones are just a matter of time.
She was already trying to maintain a normal relationship with Ian Preston.
It was quite a significant step forward.
But still, should he tell Ian about this...
If he does, what if he really ends up alone? If not, it wouldn’t be like him.
The reason Thea didn’t say more was that she guessed Silas wouldn’t keep a secret.
His mouth could indeed keep tight-lipped against others, but with Ian... that’s hard to say.
Those two, since they were little, never really had secrets from each other.
——
On the way back, Thea was driving.
When Second Brother heard she was driving, he was stunned for a moment and said politely, "How about I drive? I haven’t driven since returning to the capital."
Thea shook her head, "I actually haven’t driven either, I want to try."
Afraid that Second Brother might still stop her, she instinctively said, "Third Brother promised me this morning."
"..."
Instantly, the blame shifted to Ian Preston.
The eyes of the other three simultaneously turned to Ian, who looked back calmly, "Yes, I agreed, what about it?"
Julian Zimmerman didn’t say anything.
Silas leaned close to him and whispered, "Third Brother, did you forget what happened before? Are you sure Thea can drive?"
"She has her license, why can’t she drive?"
With one sentence, Silas was speechless.
Finally, with no other choice, Sean Bell and Second Brother led the way in the car in front, with Silas bringing up the rear.
Seeing this scene, Thea sighed helplessly, surviving honestly in the gap between them.
But fortunately, she really drove.
Second Brother and the others were too worried, afraid she still had shadows from the car accident back then.
Which was for her own good.
Honestly, when she first touched the steering wheel, she was indeed a bit nervous. A few minutes into driving, Ian turned on the music.
Coupled with his idle chatter, she unconsciously relaxed. The later part of the drive became smoother, and she didn’t feel oppressed.
"Third Brother."
"Hmm," the man in the passenger seat responded.
Thea gripped the steering wheel tightly, hesitated a bit, then asked, "Can I overtake?"
Not daring to act rashly, she instinctively sought Ian’s opinion.
It seemed like a question, but with her nature, once she asked, she was determined to do it.
Even if Ian said no, he wouldn’t be able to stop her.
His peripheral vision swept across her hands, noticing her excitement.
Ian looked ahead at the road condition, finally choosing to let go: "No need to ask me, do what you want to do."
