Li Wei froze, then hurriedly stuck his head out to look outside.
It was his childhood friend’s voice, but why would he come to Haijing Normal University?
Could he have come to save me?

Everyone was whispering. Some were jealous that Li Wei had such a good bro, others didn’t buy it.
After all, who would risk their life for a childhood friend?
In times like these, if a friend is willing to lend you tens of thousands, that relationship is already pretty damn good.
"Li Wei, where are you?"
Li Wei’s childhood friend shouted again.
Judging by the sound, he was already inside the teaching building.

Wang Haifeng growled under his breath: "You wanna lure all the zombies over here?"

"Stop yelling!"

Li Wei mocked himself. He was pretty self-conscious, so that actually became his reason to believe Lin Baici had really come.
He figured if zombies were going to trick someone, they’d go for the campus hotshots first.
Li Wei was about to shout back, answer Lin Baici, when the next second Wang Haifeng covered his mouth again.
"Li Wei, you’re from a poor family, you’ve got no power, no money, no looks—your childhood buddy goes crazy and comes to save you?"
Wang Haifeng actually laughed in anger: "What the hell is in it for him?"
"Search your heart. If it were you, would you go save him?"
"Of course I would!"
Li Wei pressed his lips together.
"Save my dick you would!"
Wang Haifeng cursed: "The armed police and soldiers aren’t here, but your friend shows up? However you look at it, this whole thing stinks."
Li Wei suddenly started struggling hard. He didn’t want to waste breath on Wang Haifeng anymore.
Lin Baici was still outside. He had to get him into the classroom first, otherwise all the zombies would be drawn over there.
Li Wei wasn’t tall, but he was strong. Once he started struggling with everything he had, even Wang Haifeng couldn’t hold him down.
Li Wei broke free and immediately scrambled up onto the window.
"Li Wei, if you leave, don’t bother coming back!"
Bai Lele warned, worried that Li Wei and them would lead the monsters back.
Li Wei didn’t even look at Bai Lele. He hurriedly opened the window and jumped out, then bolted, sprinting toward the place his childhood friend was calling from.

Because of Lin Baici’s voice, the zombies in the hallway were being drawn in that direction.
"The zombies are heading toward Li Wei’s buddy. Should we take the chance to get out?"
Someone thought this was an opportunity.
"Wait a bit longer. We’ll move when all those zombies are gone."
Wang Haifeng wanted to play it safe, and he wasn’t that anxious anymore.

Li Wei was almost at the stairwell when he froze.

Lin Baici rushed to the front of the classroom and climbed up onto the windowsill. As he climbed, he shouted, "Hurry up and open the window!"
The window did open, but at the same time a stick suddenly jabbed out.
Li Wei didn’t dodge in time, got poked in the chest by the stick, his body arched backward, and he fell toward the ground.
