Chapter 2395: Chapter 2399: Gu Junzhu, You’re So Good to Me!
"Alright, it’s settled then," Gu Junzhu said, "I’ll send your uncle some money. Once he has the money, your aunt can be treated, and they’ll have the means to raise their two sons. Their life will get easier. Tell me, isn’t that a happy thing?"
"It is," Qin Junye looked at Gu Junzhu with a grateful smile. "Uncle, thank you. Consider this money as a loan to me. When I grow up and have money, I’ll pay you back tenfold!"
"That’s the spirit," Gu Junzhu chuckled, "I’ll be waiting!"
A child’s sadness comes and goes quickly. Hearing Gu Junzhu’s words, Qin Junye immediately felt cheerful.
His uncle and aunt weren’t too bad to him.
Though not exceptionally good, his uncle and aunt were really devoted to his grandfather.
When his grandfather was bedridden, it was always his uncle and aunt taking care of him together.
For that reason alone, he hoped his uncle and aunt could live a good life.
The three children, full and satisfied, went off to play.
Gu Junzhu called over Gu Chi and said, "Send someone to check on the character of Qin Junye’s uncle’s family. If they’re decent enough, buy them a house in town and find jobs for his uncle’s two sons."
Gu Chi nodded and left with the task.
Ye Xingbei looped her arm through his and chuckled, "Are you planning to use the tactic you used on my uncle and aunt on Qin Junye’s second uncle?"
"Something like that," Gu Junzhu replied, "It doesn’t matter if a tactic is old, as long as it works."
Ye Xingbei nodded with a smile, "I agree! But I won’t go; I’m afraid of meeting my second uncle and aunt. I don’t want to see them."
"Alright," Gu Junzhu said, "Then don’t go. I’ll go, and I’ll have someone livestream it for you!"
Ye Xingbei couldn’t help but smile, resting her head on Gu Junzhu’s shoulder, "Gu Junzhu, you’re so good to me!"
"Silly," Gu Junzhu wrapped an arm around her waist, "You’re my wife. If I’m not good to you, who would I be good to?"
Ye Xingbei looked up at him with a smile, "Gu Junzhu, you’re a model husband, an exceptional man. But don’t get too proud; keep at it and maintain it."
"I will," Gu Junzhu lowered his head to kiss her, "I’ll keep it up for a lifetime. If I do well, remember to marry me again in the next life."
Ye Xingbei wrapped her arms around his neck, burying her face in the crook of his neck, and laughed, "Alright!"
The two of them quietly snuggled for a while.
The wind picked up.
It carried with it the scent of flowers, refreshing the spirit.
Ye Xingbei gazed into the distance, "There seems to be a grove of flowers over there. Shall we take a walk there?"
"Sure." Gu Junzhu stood up, holding her hand.
The two of them, hand in hand, walked towards the distant flower grove.
Ye Xingbei glanced back at the three children playing under the watchful eyes of the bodyguards and said with a smile, "I can’t help but repeat it, it’s good to have money! With money, you can hire bodyguards to watch the kids, and we can be free to stroll hand-in-hand through the flower grove. Without money, you’d have to watch the kids yourself. Even if you went out to play, you’d have to keep an eye on them."
"Money is certainly good," Gu Junzhu said, "Having no money doesn’t necessarily mean unhappiness, but if a happy person has money, they’ll be even happier."
"Makes sense," Ye Xingbei laughed, "There’s a saying online, ’I could have been happy; it was poverty that limited my happiness.’
Gu Junzhu chuckled softly, "That’s not necessarily true; with the right mindset, you can be happy even without money."
