“Shattered Starry Sky” gave this sword the name “Frostwind Chaser”. The appearance and length of Frostwind Chaser were somewhat similar to Serthel’s eight-edged magic sword. But the blade did not have eight edges; it was three fingers wide, and the blade thickness was greater than the original sword. The hilt was longer, usable with either one hand or two hands, resembling the Crusaders’ knight swords from the medieval period on Earth.

The blade felt cold to the touch. The part connecting the hilt and the blade was not cross-shaped, but an oval sphere. The sphere was made up of a bronze ring about two fingers wide and a large purple gem embedded in the center.

The surface of the bronze ring was uneven, covered with small triangular iron spikes. Complex runic patterns extended from it onto the blade. In the middle of the blade, there was a smooth, curved fuller groove, appearing elegant yet simple.

Under the sunlight from the window, the large purple-red gem reflected a dazzling purple glow. Upon closer inspection, this purple glow seemed to deeply penetrate the sword’s body. From the hilt all the way to the fuller on the blade, a thin purple line ran through the center of the sword, giving an inexplicable sense of cold.

Though faint, the purple light was condensed and did not scatter. The engraved runic patterns on the blade flickered under the purple glow, appearing distant and mysterious. Regardless of the sword’s actual effectiveness, its appearance surpassed most sword-type weapons. If taken out for exhibition, it would definitely draw gasps of amazement.

“I hope its innate skills are as outstanding as its appearance!” Qin Lun curled his lip, muttered something, and then checked the weapon information that Shattered Starry Sky fed into the Death Notice.

Frostwind Chaser (Sword-type Weapon)

Quality: Sub-Legendary

Main Materials: Cold Ash Steel, Ice Dragon Bone, Zhojia Amethyst

Weight: 1368 grams

Total Length: 1100 millimeters

Artifact Spirit: Ice Sprite (residing in Zhojia Amethyst)

Equipment Law Abilities: Moonshadow Runes, Frostbite, Frostwind Chaser

Moonshadow Runes: Frostwind Chaser was inscribed with the Elven Race’s Moonshadow Runes, the most commonly used weapon runes by elves. They could emit light at night for forest illumination. After gaining a sentient artifact spirit, it could warn its master of hidden dangers.

Frostbite: Frostwind Chaser had an innate ice attribute ability. When facing enemies, it could apply frost power to them, slowing their movements and significantly affecting spellcasting speed for magic-based professions.

Frostwind Chaser: Moonshadow Runes and Frostbite were just the most common additional abilities of this sword. Frostwind Chaser represented the true capability of this treasured sword. This law ability allowed the user, under certain conditions, to achieve extreme speed, like gliding on frost while chasing the wind.

Additional Note One: All three law abilities of Frostwind Chaser required the Apostle’s Stamina Points to support them. The Frostwind Chaser ability, being a one-time release of the Ice Sprite’s artifact spirit power, required a three-hour cooldown.

Additional Note Two: Frostwind Chaser’s artifact spirit could repair the sword body by absorbing frost energy, possessing an indestructible property.

Additional Note Three: In environments where fire elements were active, the law abilities of Frostwind Chaser would be somewhat limited, and the Frostwind Chaser skill could not be activated.

Equipment Evaluation: Frostwind Chaser was once the paired sword of the legendary Elven Ranger Selmid Zephyr, belonging to the legendary weapons of Faerûn, recorded in the continent’s legendary weapons catalog. However, during Selmid’s fierce battle with a fire-type evil dragon, it fell into a continental rift along with the Windchaser and disappeared since.

Equipment Usage Condition: The user must possess Advanced Sword Mastery or Advanced One-Handed Melee Weapon Mastery to use the final law ability of Frostwind Chaser.

Qin Lun looked at the description of Frostwind Chaser, and his expression was very strange.

Another Gold mission evaluation indeed showed that Shattered Starry Sky was very “generous” to him. Although it did not directly give him a Legendary Equipment, the value of a Sub-Legendary weapon far exceeded two or three pieces of ordinary Dark Gold Equipment, not to mention this Sub-Legendary sword suited his professional path very well.

Jungle Hunter and Elven Ranger were actually very close combat professions. Strictly speaking, Jungle Hunter was a branch profession of Elven Ranger. Ranged attacks, trap setting, hunting companions—these were the most basic combat skills of an Elven Ranger.

An outstanding Elven Ranger not only possessed all the abilities of a Jungle Hunter but also had advanced close-combat skills. One-handed swords and knight swords were the most common close-combat weapons for Elven Rangers.

However, Qin Lun still remembered his sword instructor’s evaluation of him. That sharp-tongued Rakshasi Woman once told him that his sword talent was very poor, and practicing swords was just a waste of time.

Although Apostles could use Reflex Training Scrolls to improve their combat skills, it was different from actual combat.

For example, Qin Lun had good shooting talent. He could even use the computational ability of the Death Notice to create shooting techniques like Weakness Crosshair, Spiral Shot, and Ballistic Refraction. In the Toril World, after receiving the Ancient Inheritance of the Elven Hunter, he very quickly acquired the archery skills of an Elven Ranger.

However, even though he once raised his sword skill to the intermediate level and naturally had some sword techniques in his mind, he could not reflect them in actual combat. Even with hard training, he only rigidly mastered some sword moves by imitation.

Perhaps this was also the main reason why, after receiving the elven inheritance, his intermediate sword skill transformed into One-Handed Melee Weapon Mastery. Even his body instinctively rejected using sword-type weapons.

“Should I still sell it?” Qin Lun felt extremely conflicted.

Actually, even before becoming an Apostle, he really liked the look of beautiful sword-type weapons. In the solitary confinement room of Handan Prison, Qin Lun read many books, which naturally included some fantasy novels.

No matter what, at his age, he still yearned for the kind of Shalnark who traveled the world with a sword. Whether in the West or the East, many protagonists in novels wielded a legendary sword to slay evil dragons and defeat wicked kings.

Of course, while reading, Qin Lun often selectively ignored the fact that he himself was the villain that all Shalnarks should oppose.

After thinking for a long time, Qin Lun finally gave up making a choice and put away Frostwind Chaser. He planned to talk to Kelly again sometime, to see what advice the Female Martial Artist, who had already progressed far in her professional path, could give him.

After putting away Frostwind Chaser, Qin Lun began to examine another item he had not appraised since returning—the World Token. As Qin Lun grasped the light sphere representing the World Token, the glow on the item’s surface quickly faded.

When the item revealed its true appearance, Qin Lun raised an eyebrow slightly. This World Token, which could locate the Toril World and allow him to assume the identity of Firal again, turned out to be a miniature version of the Uvellen Obelisk.

Uvellen Obelisk (World Token): This special item could not be transferred to other Apostles or sold. It allowed an Apostle to locate and enter the Toril World. Upon entry, they would once again have the Plot Identity of the Moon Elf Prince of Seopia—Firal Moonlight.

However, as the local time of Shattered Starry Sky passed, every month, the Apostle’s connection to the Toril World would weaken. After three months, the Apostle would completely sever ties with the Toril World, no longer possessing the Plot Identity of Firal Moonlight. This World Token would also become ineffective.

Looking at the Uvellen Obelisk in his hand, Qin Lun sighed. His original intention was to sell this World Token, but now it seemed that idea was shattered.

A beautiful figure flashed through Qin Lun’s mind. Although some people and events in the Toril World left an indelible impression on him, that world was still too dangerous for him.

In the Toril World, even though Qin Lun faced powerful enemies several times, in reality, he spent more time just observing. The only time he fought a strong enemy alone was at Naga Lake, facing that high-ranking Assassin from the Zhentarim.

Just one high-ranking powerhouse, and Qin Lun was almost instantly killed. Although there were various objective reasons—for instance, at that time, to conceal his Apostle identity, he removed most of his equipment, including the Glove of Sacrifice that could instantly cast magic.

But this incident made him fully realize how weak the self-preservation ability of mid to low-level Apostles could be under the suppression of high-ranking powerhouses.

At the Tower of Durlag, no matter the reasons or judgments at the time, upon later careful reflection, Qin Lun still found it incredible that he turned back to the underground hall to rescue Iristin and Milleras, among others.

Sometimes, driven by intense curiosity, he would put life second, which was not strange. Qin Lun could completely understand the attraction of a world’s secrets to him. But to disregard danger to rescue a female elf from a Quest World…

Well, thinking of Iristin’s beautiful figure again, Qin Lun subconsciously stopped considering the gains and losses of that matter. If he couldn’t forget, he avoided it; regarding this, he had plenty of experience. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to escape from so many mental illusions before.

After examining the two unappraised items, Qin Lun finally remembered another important matter. His spirits lifted, and he searched for the prompt information in the Death Notice.

When he returned to Shattered Starry Sky, he chose an Advancement Profession Certificate from the mission rewards. However, there was no physical copy of this advancement certificate in the Storage Space; it was a virtual item.

Jungle Hunter Advancement Certificate: Apostle 70053, you have substantially perfected the Jungle Hunter skill system, and your Law Body attributes have met the advancement requirements. Based on this, Shattered Starry Sky will issue a Professional Advancement Certificate. After completing the advancement mission of this certificate, you can advance to a Second-Order Apostle. At that time, Shattered Starry Sky will open more exchange permissions to you.

Hint: The Jungle Hunter profession has several advancement branch paths. The basic advancement mission is to independently hunt a high-rank creature of rank seven or above, with no restrictions on creature type (excluding Apostles). Hunting time and space are unlimited; it can be done in another world or within Shattered Starry Sky.

Special Hint: Apostle 70053, your legendary hunt progress is currently 79%. Once 100% is achieved, you can choose a hidden advancement profession.
