Chapter 75: Training Mall

"Welcome to Training Mall. The small-sized training hall costs three silver coins. The medium size is six silver coins. And the large size is one gold. We also entertain VIPs, and it is worth three gold coins. What would you like to avail?"

Cillian found himself in one of the famous training buildings known for its excellent training facility called Training Mall. It’s just a huge commercial place where it is fitted to train whatever suits the person.

This was one of the deals Cillian told Leo, his father. After returning home yesterday, he eagerly talked to his old man about this arrangement.

He will continue to attend the sessions, and he will not even argue with him about it as long as he’s allowed to do whatever he wants.

Leo agreed to this, however, he stated that Cillian would never have to ask him about anything related to money. He would have to earn it, and he could do so by working in their family business to get his pocket money.

That’s why Cillian was here today with the pocket money he received after leaving the Viola estate, and he’s here to train.

’But god damn the prizes.’

Cillian only had one gold coin as pocket money, which he planned to use carefully after he got out, until his family fetched him. Hence, after the problem of food and lodging was solved because his family existed, he then intended to use the money to find a place to train.

Their family is also not rich enough to produce an endless amount of money. The Viola Family supports the Sparrows, and their car and house are examples of their generosity.

Anything other than that, their income will come from their jobs as informants.

"May I ask how many times for a small-sized training hall?"

As if the receptionist was left disappointed that it wasn’t a rich young master who came to avail the room, her attitude changed as her tone shifted.

"Three days. However, that is for each time you came here. It’s not a daily kind of thing that requires you to attend for three straight days. You register your time for today, and that will count as your first day."

It was explained in a way that even idiots would surely understand, which annoyed Cillian, as he would have understood it even if she had explained it properly.

He instantly realized what was going on.

Cillian threw the gold coin directly at the woman’s forehead before changing his tone and attitude to that of a thug.

"Give me a small-sized training hall."

If he were receiving that kind of hospitality just by not being rich, Cillian would definitely return the favor right away.

The receptionist rubbed her head with an angry expression before handing Cillian the contract to sign. Their conversation after that became nonexistent, and Cillian was given the keys to his training site and information on where he was supposed to train.

Leaving the receptionist’s table, Cillian went to his designated room in this wide and spacious building.

The reason Training Mall was famous because they were scattered across the continent, where one could fully enjoy their training. Advertising complete secrecy in the training halls and being able to use the facilities inside is what made them famous to begin with.

Though the secrecy part is something he found funny.

That’s why Cillian was only planning on training his spells and archery skills. Anything related to being a Ruiner and his system must remain hidden unless it is a really safe space to use them.

Eventually, he reached his room after an hour of walking.

"Hey!"

Suddenly, Cillian stopped himself from entering after opening the door with his keys when someone greeted him from the side. It seemed like a neighbor from the same small training hall.

"Hello, newcomer! I’m Eve!"

It was a woman with short brown hair, wearing a cheerful smile. She was in her training attire, judging by the sweat running from her neck down to her arms.

"Cillian."

Cillian said his name flatly before entering, completely stopping their conversation right there.

He wasn’t going to waste his time talking with someone. He already had enough of knowing people.

Cillian closed the door before looking at the small training hall, which didn’t look small at all. It was slightly bigger than the one he used in the Academy, which had been awarded to him by Iska.

It was the perfect place for training, as it provided more than he had expected.

Cillian put the bag he brought with him and started to change into proper attire.

"Let’s start."

Once he was done changing, Cillian prepared his spells and the appropriate hand signs to conjure them.

...

By the end of the day, Cillian found himself huffing heavily on the ground with a satisfied smile.

He was able to see some improvements regarding spell casting and hand signs. Even though he’s still halfway through acquiring a Circle, Cillian knew this limitation would end soon as he continued his progress.

’I’ll acquire more knowledge regarding sorcery and magic once I get home. Fireball is gaining enough firepower, the same as the Stone Ball. I can at least switch casting them for once, unlike before, I had to conjure one spell at a time and release it. My Gale is also in a stable progress, and I can maintain it for at least a few more seconds than before.’

Cillian encountered a problem, however. While training, he found that his Water Wall still lacked the blocking effect it was supposed to have.

Cillian was starting to think that he had reached the limits of his body. Or this might be the sorcery knowledge he had read about when Freya advised him to read books to expand his knowledge of mana which he’s inclined more to think rather than the first one.

"So Mana Incompatibility, huh. I possess the knowledge related to water spells, but I lack the proper mana affinity to it, which is water."

Cillian was glad to be able to see flaws beforehand regarding his mana affinity. If he continued to try working on it without any available results, he might give up learning water spells altogether.

However, that doesn’t mean his Water Wall would be excluded from his list of things he could use in a fight. It would be limited, but not gone, since he might encounter Mana Overload and Mana Drain if he continued pushing it further.

Cillian wasn’t even sure if his affinities were related to the last three spells he currently owned, and there was no way to find out since it was up to the sorcerer to know what their strengths and weaknesses were.

Cillian was inclined to think that his affinity was more aligned with Fireball and Gale due to how proficient he was in using them.

’I’ll have to know more about my mana affinity once I reach Circle One Sorcerer. For now, be patient and let it all out. I’ll encounter Circle Formation myself. Right swords. I should practice it when I have free time. But sorcery and Circle Formation first! Free time only for swords! Though it would be cool if I could wield one properly.’

Everything related to swords and higher teachings of sorcery was supposed to be taught in the Academy in their second year, but it was still too far away. Hence, Cillian was forcing himself to learn all of these fast.

Even so, Cillian didn’t mind training himself. Not only had he found training fun and exhilarating because he could learn new things every day, but it would also help him with the problems he might encounter in the future.

There’s no way he would sit idly now that he found out that this world is not going to be a jolly-go-lucky kind of development.

What he was doing, everything he was doing, was for his own sake, after all.

Cillian knew that his actions posed some risks, but it would be foolish to even barge in without bringing a set of weapons into an unknown place.

This was what he was doing.

Bringing everything he got for the upcoming screwing up whoever Arthur really is, feeling a tinge of excitement about trying to mess with someone.

’Just you wait. I’ll learn more about you.’

A few hours later, Cillian was done with his first training.
